I ordered a capp with an extra shot of espresso, oat milk, and their seasonal apple spice syrup. Perfectly balanced (I even forgot to ask for it half-sweet, like I usually do, but my coffee still tasted like coffee, not like straight sugar 🙌🏼 - much appreciated!!)

Coffee was quick to come up, and there’s plenty of street parking in this sparse industrial neighborhood.

“My God, this sangwich will make you feel that things might just be ok and forget for a moment what a dumpster fire of a time we live in. The lamination! Look at these luscious layers of pastry hugging eggs and some crispy plancha sausage! Look at them! Few things are perfect or capable of changing your life. This sandwich and these brothers just might be the thing. 10/10 and I’ll definitely be back for more.“

“This cafe has a wonderful interior with a lot of seating options. I am a fan of Filipino cafes and was excited to try this one out. I ordered the ube matcha, and they were out of the mango and strawberry matcha. I’m unsure if this is because I went on a Saturday at 10:30a.m., but they may be out of certain flavors. The latte had a mild flavor of both ube and matcha, and if that’s what you’re looking for then I recommend trying it out! If not, then try a different Filipino cafe in Chicago. I didn’t get a chance to try the food, and was honestly a bit confused by the menu. I wish they had the food menu also posted instead of a QR code to ease the process of looking at options. I did not realize they had other food options besides baked goods until after I ordered and looked online. Also, there was some confusion about what baked goods were available bc they were crossed out on the menu (see photo) but the cashier told me they had everything available, including the banana bread, until she checked in the back. Overall, had an okay experience here.“

“This is such a great spot for breakfast and to get some work done! I am in love with their breakfast sandwich – it is such a delicious way to start the day. Every time I've gone here, the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere feels super conducive to getting work done or some reading in. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a nice place to grab a bite, want to catch up with friends, or get some to do's crossed off your work list!“

“Stopped there yesterday randomly after a local competitor closed at noon. The barista was very pleasant and happy to take my simple large mocha order. it was made perfect and tasted delicious. i sat outside and enjoyed my cup while also enjoying the free smells of them roasting coffee. “This was my second time eating here but 6th time having their food - I think I have confidence in this place to be consistently good. So when I brought my family here visiting for the first time time, for dinner, I was rest assured. We had come in at 8, and put in our order by 820 - all vegetarian with veggies and tofu. 30 minutes go by (nearly closing) and they come back to say they’ve run out tofu. Understandably, we were disappointed. We reluctantly made the modifications to our dishes as it was too late to go anywhere else. 30 more minutes elapse and we’re wondering where our food was; lone and behold, the restaurant had gone out to procure tofu for our dishes. Despite the bad taste the first half left in our mouth, the second half of them going above to fix the issue and make incredible food made up for it. Will come again, but just will confirm the tofu availability beforehand ;)“

“It’s cute little coffee shop on a great spot on the corner. It has a small menu of the classic coffee options like latte and cortado, and they have 3 syrup options of lavender, vanilla, or mocha (nope, no caramel!). I forget how small the 8oz is it fits so cutely in my hand but it was a good amount of coffee for my walk home. A bit higher prices but it’s a small business supporting our community! Plenty of seating and space to study, work, or chill!“

“I came to Gretel in Chicago with a few friends and had such a great experience! The atmosphere was lively but still cozy — the kind of spot that feels perfect for catching up over good food and drinks. I ordered the Monarch cocktail and the signature Gretel Griddle Burger, and both were amazing. The Monarch was perfectly balanced — refreshing, smooth, and beautifully made. The burger absolutely lived up to the hype: juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly even though the place was busy. Between the great service, relaxed vibe, and delicious food, Gretel definitely impressed me!“

“This is my first time here, and I have to say I absolutely love the atmosphere! It is so pretty inside and it's so clean. The staff was super nice.
The only negative thing that I could say was that it did take a long time to get the food even though we were the only ones in there and for what we bought it was really expensive. I thought we were going to get these like full sandwiches and they were these little tiny bitty appetizers.
We also ordered drinks the refreshers and they were so good. I highly suggest to get them with water not with lemonade because they are very sweet. But my first time there and I definitely will be going back. Also you can sign up for points and earn free food.

They have a wide variety of different offerings on pour over (they call it “hand brew”), and they know how to treat these beans right, and serve coffee properly. “I stopped by today and tried the Shortcake Latte—easily one of the best specialty drinks I’ve had in a while. It was super smooth, sweet in the right way, and really unique.

“Brewpoint is a gem in the Western suburbs of Chicago. I am entirely blessed to live blocks from their craft location on York. Exposed brick, chandeliers, and a plant wall surrounds you - a grateful reprieve from cookie cutter Starbucks decor. Coffee, matcha, and baked goods are top notch (haven't tried cocktails or charcuterie yet). A wonderful mix of professionals, college students, community organizers, and socially conscious suburban moms escaping the kids (I'm sure I'm missing wonderful others). Sometimes I'm not sure how I manage to keep living in the suburbs when the city is still home for me after 10 years in Elmhurst, but Brewpoint certainly makes it easier.“
