“As we all should've learned by now, at the first time of hunger you should go seek food. Popular places take time to ensure a good meal. However, I made the mistake of ordering XL tips, with sauce on the side and didn't even get the second sauce I paid for. Never should I do this again, the meat was so dry and some had a crunchy texture. As a reminder ordering two smaller orders soaked in two different sauces. Just a helpful reminder besides pans, your choices are: 2XL, XL, L, S.
Standing room only, orders filled quickly, and take out only.

Vegetarian options: Not that I know of.

Parking: Parking south of the building is limited, but a stroll on the North side of the building.
A walkway from the Northside I'm not sure, and there is only one door.

“flew in from NC for vacation and i seen this place with good reviews so i decided to come and try the food out . Definitely recommend prices are fair considering how fresh the food is and how great service the service is . the owner works front of the store and he took very good care of us even gave us free candy . if i ever come back to illinois i’ll definitely be back“

This trip, Beef Chop Suey, Combo Fried Rice, Chicken Egg Rolls and Vegetable Egg Foo Young, as always the food was delicious, portions were large and service was very friendly. Lee and Danita have that gift in their soul so you have to wait for all that goodness to be assembled for your dining experience. I started with the cornbread, which was perfectly moist and had a hint of sweetness. For the main course, I tried the smothered pork chops and they were divine tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The collard greens and baked mac&cheese the best combination, perfect sides! Seasoned to perfection! The service was attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. “I am from the South but I'm currently living in Wisconsin, and I have been looking for a place that serves fried catfish. I finally found it in Captain Porky's, and they did not disappoint! The staff is so nice, the place is very clean, and the menu is very large so if you can't find anything to eat you must not be hungry. This has now become one of my favorite places to go and eat!“

“Like many barbeque places I want good side orders . They need to improve a little on those. But that being said .there ribs are fabulous . Nice and flavorfully. They grill them before serving . I prefer no grilling just reheat and serve.

“Went there on 6/22/22. We ate outside and were pleased to have a musician playing on the patio. The food was excellent as was the service. Bring your appetite and still expect to take home leftovers. Classic menu of steaks, chops, sandwiches and top notch BBQ. This will be a mainstay for us moving forward. The overall dining experience was fantastic. The staff was friendly and attentive, and I really appreciated the call button at the table, which made it easy to request assistance without interrupting our conversation or meal.
