“Out of all the Starbucks I’ve been to and I been to many over the years . This is my go to every day and I must say a few times a day , no joke. The staff here starting with the manager and all her Baristas are the best crew I’ve ever done business with. They know myself and family by name and it’s just a great feeling to walk in here every day and get to speak to with the best crew out there . I honestly wouldn’t write it if I didn’t mean it. I live by midway and drive to Lagrange daily just for coffee even if I don’t have nothing to do that way. Some may say the coffee is the same at each Starbucks, I beg to differ , because it’s not. I been coming here for the last 5 years and never had a problem . This is one busy location but they got it under control and the staff makes it a comfortable place of business to want to come back over and over .“

if ur an adult all the teenagers come here and it’s super crowded, it took me 20 mins to get my order.
They had 3 people behind the bar kudos to them.
To be fair it’s the first day that they released the winter drinks but omg I had to say excuse me several times just to get through.“

Not just pierogi ---Gelato, soups, empanadas, tamales, pizza pie (takes 50 mins to make from scratch and worth it!!) “Portage Grounds is my favorite local coffee shop! The staff are awesome, the coffee is great, and the shop itself is welcoming. They have a cozy couch spot by the fireplace, individual window stools if you prefer to work solo, and even a conference room if you want to hang with a group. Cute little outdoor patio as well. Great location. Can't speak on the food as I've never eaten there.

Parking: Parking is difficult here simply because it's on Irving Park next to the park and the gym. Sometimes you can find a spot but often the closest option is illegal/flasher parking, or over a block away“

“Truly a gem in the Palos area, the ice cream is amazing and very well priced! The atmosphere is cozy and well decorated. There was high demand for ice cream on a chilly Sunday night but there was enough staff to handle the crowd. The ordering process is simple and the ice cream was ready quick. Excellent place for a delicious treat!“

“The largest of the BlackBerry Market installations and the one I gravitate towards the most; while both the Glen Ellyn and LaGrange locations are charming, the Oak Brook building is more impressive, with higher ceilings, a gorgeous amount of light due to the ample windows, and a great mix of different seating options. I’ve been to BlackBerry market to simply grab a quick bite after running errands in the area, but I’ve also come here with a larger group of friends for relaxed brunch. No matter the occasion, I’ve never been disappointed with the food! It hits every time— my special shoutout goes to the Italian Wedding Soup, as well as the Chicken Avocado Club! I always gravitate towards those dishes and they never let me down.“

“Met a friend for coffee one Sunday. Elaina was nice and welcoming and made the menu approachable. She was able to tell me about all of the drinks and food and gave great recommendations. Even had a non-dairy option for my husband. It was a really nice vibe inside with cool art on the walls. I had a really good breakfast sandwich and the coffee was excellent! I had an iced caramel coffee, probably my favorite iced coffee drink I've ever had, seriously. I will visit again and strongly recommend!“

“I LOVE the Upbeet life! They are always so nice and friendly, and let you try a bit of whatever you’re ordering to make sure that you like it! Everything I’ve had here is delicious, the smoothies, toasts, and bowls! One of my favorite places in La Grange!“

“Bright, open, comfortable space for people meeting up in pairs, groups, or working solo. Outlets available along walls under bench seating. Two bathrooms divide the front room from the more dim/ "cozier" room in the back, which offers additional seating in the form of larger, wider tables. Acoustics are decent for the size and height of the ceiling /open brick space. Ironically this cafe has a quiet ambience that makes it great for working on a laptop with headphones on without getting distracted by the typical loud, jarring sounds normally heard at smaller or more common cafes. Music is not too distracting or loud, and features a wide range of genres. I think the staff changed it up manually to mix it up every hour or so. It didn't sound too generic or predictable. Also, the staff here are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, sweet, and cheery, and made suggestions to customers while they ordered. I loved my cold brew and Lorraine Croissant which was heated up. The absolutely gorgeous and enviable "living wall" full of real plants ? at the front is an AWESOME use of vertical wall space. It is always great to see businesses using real plants. I also appreciate the subtle stylish additions like the pretty chandeliers and beautiful metal hand-created signage on the other walls. Metal chairs at the tables near the other side of the cafe are not that comfortable after awhile, but not terrible either. Bathrooms are accessible for all needs and there is a high chair near the bar if you need one for a kid. Parking is tricky as the lots in the front and back can fill up quickly at the start of the day/midday.

Wheelchair accessibility: Open space allows for wheelchair accessibility at tables, in bathrooms, and when ordering. Doors do not open automatically though.“

“OMG WOW! Amazing bakery! I go to tons of bakeries & I think this is the best one in Oak Park & one of the best in Chicagoland! I LOVED everything I tried from the cookies, to muffins to scones. Super high quality & extremely fresh products. Some of the pastries were still warm from the oven as I got there right at 8 am when they open. Even then, there was a little line out the door. Many people got coffee drinks but I didn’t this time. They also have $2 wonky cookies (just weirdly shaped cookies) that are a great deal. I tried: chocolate chip cookie, banana bread, vegan chocolate muffin (extra delish), goat cheese chili scone (excellent) & the wonky birthday cookie (amazing & buttery - melts in your mouth). Can’t wait to go back & try other things! Please note the place is tiny with only a few tables & chairs & there’s metered street parking so I took my order to go.

10.25.24 update: the kale salad done is truly amazing! The toasted coconut cake was sooo good and the chiffon cake was delightful. The savory corn biscuit was good but I preferred the scone, which is totally worth traveling for.“

I've been looking for a good coffee shop to work from in oak park and this exceeds expectations. the coffee is SO GOOD, and I absolutely love that this coffee shop is set up as the most comfortable co-working space + art gallery (?!??!!). as if it couldn't get any better, we absolutely love the authentic Mexican culture and flavors available here. really great selection of savory and sweet baked goods that will keep you full and focused all day. I will definitely be back here to work whenever I'm in oak park.

“This was our first time trying this restaurant. I didn't take a picture but, last night, I had the chickpea tuna sandwich. When you order this sandwich it actually comes with 2 sandwiches that are wrapped separately. The sandwich was a generous portion, had a nice clean taste and was very filling. I ate one half last night and the other half for lunch today. It wasn't soggy like a regular tuna sandwich might be after storing it over night. Definitely gonna try it again. We also had the spaghetti with no meatballs and the mac and cheese. Everything was very good and the price was great too. I will be going back to sample other items this restaurant has to offer.“

“I’ve been going to Addis for the past 7 years and rarely skip a day… What drew me in was the very best tasting pour over that I’ve ever had and what keeps me coming back is the family feeling: from the friendly crew behind the counter to the local residents who make Addis a must have part of their daily routine, this place is well worth a try. “When I’m working from our Oakbrook location, Beatrix is one of my favorite spots when I need to escape the office. There’s a cafe area when you walk in, attached but separate from the restaurant. This includes a coffee bar with lots of treats and plenty of seats or places to lounge or work on your laptop. The Wi-Fi is great here so I never have to use my own hotspot or network. I love anything s’mores and they have a massive s’mores cookie filled with marshmallows. They used to have a Nutella filled cookie but I haven’t seen it recently. They also have a sign advertising DoRite Donuts (which are my favorite donuts in the city). They told me they’re only available on the weekends, so I haven’t tried them here, but that’s a nice option to have in the suburbs.

Pros- They’re part of the Lettuce Entertain You network so you can check-in on the app and earn points, and this includes a Beatrix coffee club that gives you a free coffee every 7 drinks.

Cons- Lettuce Entertain You always adds a service fee to your receipt, including here at the coffee bar. They could’ve skipped it here…. I don’t mind tipping, but it feels silly to buy a single cookie and have a service charge added to it, in addition to being asked for a tip

-The staff at the coffee bar is almost always in a grumpy mood. This makes me think this isn’t a great company to work for. I hope that’s not the case and I hope life improves for them.“

“If you like Chai this is the place to be. It is THE BEST Chai tea I’ve ever had and I’m a conisour of chai…the owner is always there upbeat and friendly the staff are all friendly and chat I definitely recommend this coffee lounge!!“

“I have never had a bad meal from Gnarly. I have been going here for a few months now and I'm just obsessed. Do yourself a favor and check out the specials. Their barista is a freaking genius when it comes to their specialty drinks. I would eat here everyday if I could. If you love soft pretzels gnarly is the place to be.“

“My wife, myself, and 2 young kids have been visiting Level Up Cafe & Lounge since they opened. The owners Shawn and Victoria do a great job. The staff is very friendly, they have delicious refreshing protein shakes, smoothies, food, and adult beverages. We absolutely love the atmosphere and free arcade with purchase. There are always young children there whom our kids are always playing with. It’s a great social, playful, and friendly place to be. We highly recommend Cafe Level Up & Lounge for a fun night out!!“

“I am pretty critical of boba as there are so many places that pop up and fall short. I was honestly very impressed with palgong and have nothing but good things to say.
1) we arrived an hour before closing, and the tapioca was still fresh with a good chew (already winning in my book!)
2) they had a great selection of flavors, but more importantly, they offered the classic flavors like regular milk tea which had the perfect amount of ice & sweetness.
3) the Korean corn dogs are made in house which I thought was so cool! They are 100% beef which is appreciated since I don’t eat pork. It was fried to perfection and dressed with yummy sauces.
4) they had some fun activities, there was a wall of claw machines that you could buy tokens to play and another side that had some free family games like jenga and connect four.
5) Lastly, and one of the most important points; it was very clean inside like surprisingly clean. The tables did not have crumbs or anything sticky, the bathroom was spotless.
I love when establishment pays attention to large & small details, it is very aesthetically decorated . I will definitely be back when I’m in the area and highly recommend to anyone looking for some good bubble tea!
Also, I thought their prices were fair. Great place to check out with family and friends.“

“I would like to commend Zach and Adrian. I haven’t been in a coffee shop other than Starbucks for a while. I usually get Hazelnut in normal hot coffee. To my dismay they didn’t have it, however both Adrian and Zach helped me pick out a great blend: mocha, rose and honey. I love my coffee sweet and they said to just leave it how it is, they already noted it as extra sweet. What a delicious cup of coffee! Also, they were just super nice and friendly. They are the type of employees that someone hires and others come back to see.. I believe Asher was on break or doing something in the background but she joined in on our convo and was also present and joyful. I give this place a 5 out of 5 and two thumbs up. I give Zach and Adrian 11 out of 10 for being very present and making me a blend that was outstanding. Owner- please consider giving them a raise. I'll be back.“

“I’m so surprised by this spot. The tacos were 4/10 (meat overcooked) but the rice & beans were great. The empanadas are the best empanadas that I’ve had in a very long time. Crispy, flavorful, fresh.. everything you’d want. All the salsas were good, especially the green sauce and the garlic sauce. Horchata was average but not terrible. & my elote was simple and delicious. It brought back memories for me.
