“A bit of a rundown old dive bar that it has some space but it's all okay. This bar is a lot better than many other older bars and it has two sections as part of its layouts and overall it looks like a pretty typical rural EXO verb hangover bar it does seem to be a bar from a different generation which is fine and still has the plenty of old TV screens probably has not changed much since the 1970s. I like this and if I lived in the area I probably would go here more often“
“Had an okay time the last visit to this lakeside bar and grill. It's got to be the most popular place to go in Winthrop Harbor because it's busy, as far as when it's summer when everyone comes out here. The Tropics has the typical beach goer type of theme. Even though it's not next to a beach, it is located next to a lake. You can even pull your boat up and get something. Basically there's a lot of lakeside bars like it. It's best known for the drinks and live music. This of course gets pretty crowded in summer. Always some event going on. This is popular for banquets and whatever. Last time we got drinks and food. They were pretty busy so we didn't order a lot. Got the Blue Lagoon cocktail. It's about $8 and made with Blue Curacao, lemonade, and Tito's. As far as the food goes, it's mostly greasy fried stuff so we tried our best. We got the Chips And Salsa. It's about $5 for a pretty good amount. The rest of the menu is fishy and meaty. Great views of the lake. It's got a lot going on. There's live music and whatever.“

“Love Pips! My sister and I discovered this place a few months ago. Delicious hand crafted cocktails. Everything is house made from their infused liquors, all syrups and meads. Joy is a cocktail master! Matt is very personable and knowledgeable, he's the mead master, just don't ask him about pizza. lol. Joy has the low down on pizza delivery. I highly recommend this amazing Gurnee find. Only recommendation, turn down the bright lights.“
“Fries were good. Burger was flavorful and kind of cooked right. If your chef can't do medium and other variations then pink or no pink. Also if the burger says it comes with a topping then more than one or two (ie onion straws). “My wife and I like to be patrons of our local establishments, and the Legion has hosted some craft brew events in the past. It was unfortunate that the older lady bartending seemed bothered by us ordering a Kentucky Mule with Makers. Her demeanor was surprising. Wish she would've been friendlier. There is no music in the place that you can hear. Pool table is a plus. They seem to have karaoke but looked like equipment was just laying around. Needs a little bit TLC.“

“We were here on a Saturday night, a great band was playing, and the place was packed. There were even people dancing, and everybody was singing along to some cover song if they knew it. There are some good people watching, drinking, and keeping up with friends going on. “There’s a meat raffle at 3 PM sound quality of the football game is fantastic. The guy got hurt and we’re still waiting to see if he’s OK the drinks are fairly priced and the Philly cheesesteak looks delicious. Also the pretzels come with cream cheese, which is unique based on my experience with pretzels, I haven’t seen cream cheese available, much jalapeños, couldn’t be spicier, which is a good thing, there are rats on the windows don’t worry they’re not real clean very well. There’s a guy named Kinney who shoots pool either on Tuesdays or Fridays. He’s gonna be here next week Friday next week. He’s an offensive player he does it cheap plenty of parking.“

All the staff was friendly & fun and all the food we had was great! Friendly patrons & "regulars" too! “Today was my first day to visit.The customer service or the waiter was amazing. As far as taste really good. So far I tried there burger, cheese sticks and Buffalo wings. It tasted amazing plus they darts and games. I was pretty impressed. Im definitely coming back I have to try there pizza.“
“Basic shack looking bar in Winthrop Harbor. It doesn't look like much. The Tavern On Sheridan has great drink prices though. Fun place for watching games. Pretty much that's about all there is it seems. About the drinks. It has tons of specials. These go on throughout the week. Last time it had quite a few. Very cheap stuff. Beers come in bottles or cans. The beers are mostly basic but there's a few crafts though. It was $2.75 for Jaeger. The other specials were this price or not a lot. Good bar. It looks crappy from the outside. The inside isn't a lot better but it has a coziness to it though.“
