“My wife and I like to be patrons of our local establishments, and the Legion has hosted some craft brew events in the past. It was unfortunate that the older lady bartending seemed bothered by us ordering a Kentucky Mule with Makers. Her demeanor was surprising. Wish she would've been friendlier. There is no music in the place that you can hear. Pool table is a plus. They seem to have karaoke but looked like equipment was just laying around. Needs a little bit TLC.“
“2nd wine school held at the American Legion. Great turn out for the wine school, sponsored by American Legion Gurnee, along with Tenture Torciano, from Tuscany, Italy. Wines were out standing, and the Representative from Torciano Wines, Marco, was very knowledgeable of all wines. We could also order wines that nite, with delivery prior to Christmas.“
“Chili's is always a good time. You can't go wrong. This location in particular had a really clean restroom & it smelled really good which normally doesn't happen. Staff was very friendly & the manager seemed very nice & attentive. Food was good as usual.“
“I went as a family vacation, and let me tell you it was the hands down best vacation ever. We arrived early and our room was already prepared for our stay. The beds were very clean with what looked like brand new linens. The internet was slightly slow when sending large files but that didn’t happen often so it wasn’t a major problem. We stayed for 3 days and weren’t disappointed once. The water park also includes many tube slides, specialized wristbands for small children to increase safety, a lazy river, a wave pool, and ever two very large full family raft rides. There are and abundant amount of small stores and restaurants inside. The arcade features a wide plethora of games. And at 36 ¢ a point I was actually impressed how many points one can get for a small amount of money. Each room has independent heating and cooling allowing for a comfortable sleep and stay. The stay was a five star experience .“
“A rare North Shore gem combining outstanding cuisine with art from local artists. As it's name implies, the Gallery is an art gallery, but with a kitchen and an extremely talented chef. The menu and art are both updated every 3 months. We have been to the Gallery for the past 5 menus and every visit has been excellent. The menu is very limited but offers enough options for most people (so far, there has always been a salmon, another seafood entree, a beef entree, and a poultry entree). While limited in choice, the execution of every dish is at the very top of the fine dining scene and could compete with most of the top rated restaurants in Chicago - in our experience the Gallery should be a Bib Gourmand contender. While the entree is the star here, two non-entree items deserve special mention. First, the deviled eggs with balsamic and bacon are so good we have felt many times we could just eat a few orders of deviled eggs and be happy, and are in the "must have" category (thankfully, these are on every menu so far). Second, the pastry deserts are executed at a level that I would not expect except at a Michelin starred restaurant. The deserts have been mostly different each visit, but they have always blown us away. Don't skip desert! Note that the Gallery has a very limited wine and spirits menu, but they encourage you to bring your own wines with a very minimal corkage fee.“
“An excellent dive bar that never disappoints! Half the fun is NEVER knowing if it's going to be jam packed standing room only busy, or just a couple of patrons. Get the bartender to bake a Quonset pizza, or toss you a frozen Charleston Chew with your favorite drink!“

They also have live music, came to see Frank liston Music, he was amazing and added to the atmosphere. The staff is super friendly. Food is okay but overall the atmosphere is where it's at!! “Love Pips! My sister and I discovered this place a few months ago. Delicious hand crafted cocktails. Everything is house made from their infused liquors, all syrups and meads. Joy is a cocktail master! Matt is very personable and knowledgeable, he's the mead master, just don't ask him about pizza. lol. Joy has the low down on pizza delivery. I highly recommend this amazing Gurnee find. Only recommendation, turn down the bright lights.“
