“Sushi City is by far my favorite sushi restaurant. I have been coming here for years and the place only has gotten better. They just completed their third remodel. Now the restaurant has a super sleek and modern aesthetic. They also increased the number of booth seats they have.

This is an all you can eat (AYCE) sushi restaurant and their selection is huge. You get the usual appetizers, nigiri, and basic maki rolls that you would expect from a AYCE sushi restaurant, but this place gives you more! They have always allowed you to order their specialty rolls (their best roll being the torched dragon roll), but they recently added carpaccio plates, ramen, and dessert. Their prices have gone up over time, but I still consider them a great value for everything that they offer you.

And it is not just about quantity and variety. This restaurant upholds its quality. Other AYCE sushi restaurants give you lower quality fish and hide it by smothering it under lots of heavy sauces. But at Sushi City you can taste the quality of their fish (just order a salmon or tuna nigiri and taste how fresh it is).

The wait staff also is amazing. They are super prompt with everything. This place used to have a robot that served the appetizers. It was a fun novelty. The robot disappeared after the last renovation. Hopefully it will come back some day..

I hesitated to write this review since my home town is Downers Grove and this place is pretty well known to those in DG. However, you should know this place is amazing. The evidence of this is that it is the only surviving store front on that side of the strip mall they are located and another AYCE sushi restaurant (that is a fairly well known chain) that used to compete with them on 75th street closed down awhile ago. I love it at Sushi City and hopefully you will too.“

“My husband and I recently discovered this gem!!! We don't live in Glen Ellyn and we started coming in July and have already been back 8 times! The fish is the freshest, the rolls/sashimi beyond delicious, the service and all the staff are always so nice and thoughtful. we can't wait to reserve their private seating floor room soon too. “We came very late on a Saturday night thinking they were open till 10:30 but they were only open till 10 and still accommodated us at 10:15 to dine in. We didn’t even realized they closed. Absolutely exceptional service and the food was fantastic. Had the Rangoon and some sushi rolls. Lily was our waitress and was extremely kind and helpful! Came here on a whim and didn’t realize what we stumbled upon. Extremely authentic. Highly recommended! More people should try this place. We will be back for sure.“

“Had the best experience dining here with coworkers. Jess was our server and was warm and welcoming, offering suggestions and pairings, and had the beat timing- we never felt rushed or interrupted. The martinis and crafted cocktails were as delicious as they were beautiful. Appetizers were delicious and the portion size was great- don't miss the brussel sprouts! Now the sushi... wow- creative and meticulously prepared rolls and sashimi with a menu that has something for everyone-- and the vegan options are incredible! Can't wait to come back. “All you can eat menu is good for everyone a lot of options that you can order. My favorite is bake mussels, avocado salad, rainbow and dragon roll 😍 Fast service and good sushi. Highly recommended“

“The food was great, and so was the service. My only complaint is the size of the $18 salmon roll. It was tiny. I understand that having two types of salmon in the roll increases the price, but for its size it should only be $12-14. Very tasty, but I did not want to spend $40 to eat two rolls at lunch time. Had it been $4 cheaper, I would have happily spent $30 on two rolls.“

“Great food, great experience! They charge by the plate. You take a plate of your favorite foods off the conveyor belt, and dispose of the plates in a reciprocal on your table. Plates are counted and that's how you are charged. Really inexpensive, and delicious high quality food.

This is my new go-to when im in the area.“

“Food was great- ordered a few combos and they were wonderful. Drink menu was fab and the bartender and server deserve some extra credit. Our table was the furthest from the bar and we ordered 2 rounds of martinis. They filled those martinis to the top- and I mean the top. The server walked all the way from the bar (slowly) and did not spill a single drop. We were more than impressed! Love a full martini glass!“

Our table was not ready at our reservation time, no issue but they forgot to come get us from the bar and I had to go back and ask if our table was ready 20 minutes later. Our server was great but the wait for everything we ordered was quite long, had to be reminded that we ordered tea, he had to check on the appetizers as they were not brought to the table, then the entrees were brought while we were still working on apps. I am also not a fan of kiosks on tables at upscale resturants.“

“This is absolutely a one of a kind experience! My mother and I did the “Decadent Omakase” as it was our first visit. Lee, our waiter was amazing. All of the staff that helped us were so informative and kind! The flavor in each selection was beyond this world. It was pricey but worth every single penny. I have never had a better experience in my life. The Omakase was EIGHT COURSES. Every one being perfectly curated. I cannot wait to go back.“

“This place is such a wonderful dining spot for a girls’ night out! From the moment we walked in, our waitress greeted us with such genuine delight. She was warm, friendly, and set such a positive tone for the evening.

Then came Carlos, who completely elevated our experience. He was attentive, understanding, and incredibly talented. I can be pretty particular with food, and when I told him exactly how I like my salmon, he went above and beyond. The result was even better than I expected! The flavors were perfect, the presentation was beautiful, and his service was outstanding from start to finish.
