“I don’t often leave reviews but this was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. It was the day before Valentines and it was busy. We were greeted and checked in by what I presume is a son or family member. So polite and attentive even at a young age. Our table wasn’t ready so the hostess personally walked us to the bar. When the bartender was busy the hostess took the time to get us glasses of wine while we waited. Again, it was busy but we sat in beautiful ambience while we waited for our appetizer of hummus, tzatziki and spicy whipped feta (which was my absolute favorite). They also served us bread made in house which was like little bites of heaven. My husband had the avgolemono soup which was uniquely served and delicious. We both got the souvlaki- my husband the chicken and I got the filet. We each tried each others and both were so flavorful. I purposefully did not finish my meal so I could enjoy it the next day as well. We have already discussed what we will try next time we come back, and we will. To sum it up (and I hope google translated it correctly) Katapliktikós (Amazing)!“

“We were on our way to Indiana and decided to stop and get something to eat. We decided to try this restaurant. My Husband and I ordered the Italian beef sandwiches. I got red sauce, mozzarella cheese, Onions and hot peppers. These sandwiches were the best I’ve ever had in an Italian beef sandwich. My brother-in-law ordered hotdog and said they were absolutely delicious as well. We most definitely will come back and sit in and dine again. I recommend this place 100%.“

“This place take me back to a place and time when I was a kid. Food is is giving 90s early 2000s quality just straight to the point goodness. Chips with meat and cheese as a kids…just does something to me now. This is my feel good takeout spot!“

“2026 update: they closed and came back and are still a staple of this community. The girls working the front counter were so nice and polite and the food was very prompt.
Great Gyro place! Very quick when I stop in to get food to go. Menu has lots of choices. if youre in the Calumet Township area,and are looking for your basic hotdog gyro dive,this is the place to go! Lived in the area for the past 20 something years,and it's always been there...if that proves anything! good food buisnesses never close!“

“Dean's been the spot since early 90s (I can not remember the late 80s) food is top tier, prices in today's economy are very reasonable, the employees are kind and make the food correctly, the entire building was very clean. “I'm stuck in traffic on US 30, was thinking about gyros, and I look to my right to see Gyros Express. Quick right turn and in. The staff was welcoming and fun. Ordered a Gyros sandwich for the impending traffic mess. Completely satisfied! Great sandwich. Loads of meat, fresh pita, topped properly. What a great choice Gyros Express is!“

“Haven't ate there in YEARS!!!!BUT did today and it was awesome....EVERYTHING we had was great, potato soup IS the best EVER!!!! Had that and breaded veal senior meal AND the beef hot plate senior meal and was awesome AND the service from the hostess, requested a specific seat/booth with the best lighting to see better and was accommodated with a smile and waitress was awesome!!! Definitely WILL be back again and often.“

“This place has the best food! I’ve had a variety of meals and they all have been delicious! Today I came by for lunch and tried the gyros skepatzi which was excellent!! It is part of the “Greek street food” that is offered here, and it certainly was delicious! The portions are always generous and flavourful. I saw this place featured on You tube “Americas Best restaurants”. I’ll be returning for lunch and dinner when in the area.“
