“Doug was patient, cordial, very attentive. My mom, 96, has not been out for a meal in 5 yrs. Doug made this a pleasant experience for the 4 of us. Comfortable sitting, great comfortable noise level, not crowded sitting( we had a wheelchair), food excellent. Pork shoulder outstanding. No stickiness on anything. Best day/meal ever! Thank u Doug”

“We typically love it here. However, we had an easily avoidable issue yesterday. The app only allows the "call ahead" for up to 6. We had a party of 12. So, we called the location to ask if they could accommodate a party of 12. We kept getting placed on hold by 3 different employees only to be told they can't give a time estimate until we are physically there (15+minutes btw of employee after employee). Okay, we pack up and head there. After arriving we are told they can't even sit the 12 of us together and it's a 1.5 hour wait. What a WASTE of OUR time. I understand the wait is based on the customer traffic. But if you guys know you can't sit 12 together, TELL US OVER THE DAM PHONE!!!!!!”

The coffee is always excellent, the breakfast options are delicious, and everything tastes fresh. “We went to Johns in Dyer and had a fabulous experience. We went for my birthday. 4 adults and eight grandchildren. The food was amazing and the service was awesome and the boys making the pizzas were so nice to the kids. The kids were watching through the window and the cooks were interacting with the kids. They had a blast and are already talking about how they want to go back. We will be definitely visiting Johns soon! “For 20$ to get fresh crispy, perfectly seasoned fry’s, A fantastic fresh crisp salad, delicious lemonade, his amazing sandwich and a cheesecake in a cup. I got the chicken sandwich and the meat was PERFECT. Tender flavorful well seasoned and juicy with a fresh bun. They had a house made crispy chipotle aioli that they give you a small bottle on the side for and that was delicious. The cheesecake tastes like how my grandma used to make hers. Lemonade you can tell is made from scratch. I can tell the owner takes pride in his skills smoking and seasoning the meats before they open. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Every part of the meal DID NOT disappoint.”

The drinks were the highlight—well made, consistent, and exactly what you want when you’re out for a good time. The atmosphere also stood out in a good way. It had a lively, comfortable vibe that made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening without feeling too crowded or overwhelming.
Service was another positive. Attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out in a timely manner. You could tell they were on top of things, which always makes a difference.
Food was a bit more middle-of-the-road. We tried the jalapeño poppers, and while they were decent, they didn’t quite stand out compared to everything else. Not bad by any means, just not the star of the show.
All in all, Spanky’s delivers where it counts—great drinks, good service, and a fun atmosphere. If you go in expecting a bar-first experience with solid food on the side, you’ll leave happy.”
