“The Mexican ice cream shop is a pretty good spot to treat yourself. It is located in the heart of Whitting. I stopped here on my way to the Mascot Hall of Fame. It is also by the beach. There is free street parking on the street in front of the shop. The shop is very clean and has a small dining area, with Mexican music playing in the background. They also have a table and a couple of chairs on the sidewalk that you can sit and dine on.Be sure to check in here on the Yelp app before you check out because I had a free scoop of ice cream reward when I checked in.They have an assortment of homemade ice popsicles, a couple of freezer full of ice cream and sorbets, banana splits, mangonadas, elotes, strawberries & cream, and yogurt. You can get your ice cream in a cup or various styles of cones. You can also allow you to sample the ice cream to help you to make the tough decision of what flavor to get.The staff there is very friendly and helpful. My littles got a scoop of bubble gum and a scoop of Superman ice cream. I got a mangonada. My kids loved their ice cream. They ate every little bit. My mangonada was equally good. I will admit that I always feel stupid when I come into a Mexican ice cream shop. I have no idea what some of the stuff is and find myself having to look it up. The ice cream is my guilty pleasure though.I really like this place. They have top notch service and delicious high quality ice cream. “Our first time stopping in, but won't be our last. The Macroon's and Tea were delicious. My son enjoyed his rolled ice cream as well. I normally have Thai Tea, but came out of my comfort zone to try something else thanks to their help. Very friendly and helpful staff!!“
“Ice cream is always so good! Nobody beats ice cream on a hot humid night. What's best about this ice cream is it does not melt as soon as you get outside. I was able to eat 2 scoops without it melting in 90° humid weather. Whoo hoo! ??“

“I was so excited to try the Munster location as my family went to the original Midlothian/Oak Forest location countless times. I understand it’s a different owner now.Overall enjoyed our experience, the Poseidon was very similar to what I remember, although it needed more meat. My daughter enjoyed her hotdog and ice cream. If open for suggestions, I would recommend bringing chocolate malts to the menu as that was a trademark of the original UE. Also it would be great to see some more tables and chairs that are family friendly. We enjoyed it, but coming from Cedar Lake, would like to see more to be considered a meal destination. Thanks!“

“Who doesn't love dairy queen, what's not to love. The dine in section was clean, staff was friendly and food came out quickly and hot.Parking: The parking lot is on the side of the building. There is a lot next door but I'm not sure if you can park there.Kid-friendliness: I've never met a kid that didn't like dairy Queen.“
“Stopped in for the first time today. 1st the girl working was awesome to tell us all the flavors in the case. Next I ordered the mango...I guess it's sorbet, delicious, absolutely delicious. Chunks of mango, sweet but not too sweet loved it. My grandson said it was the best icecream he's had and he got the red velvet cake ice cream. This will for sure be our regular spot.“
“This establishment is 10/10. I disagree with maribel k. People are frequently rude to the workers and will come 5 mins before closing and order 10 things and not take anything into consideration. Respect is given back to those that give it in the first place. Dont be rude to a food worker and get off your high horse.“
“I use to go to The Sweet Tooth when it was in Highland and have not been there since. New location, same great choices of candies, ice cream and sweets. I like going here and my kiddos loved it just as much.The workers were super nice too. The interior is well kept and decorated nice and friendly. “This is one of the best dairy queens still around. The only problem is they always just have one lady and she has to take and do all orders herself. I really hate how bosses overwork and take advantage of employees like this. Their need to be at least two more people “
“I normally order hot fudge Sunday. Only one time was my fudge warm. I always ask for extra topping like whipped cream nuts and cherries because if you don't you will be lucky if you get any. The last time I ordered it wasn't hot fudge it was more like Hersey chocolate and there was so little of it I ate 70% of the vanilla ice without it turning chocolate. It is always hit or miss when you go there. All of the girls are very nice bur there are a few that just do not care if they make a good bad or ugly sundae. But weather bad or ugly I still will go back for there awesome whipped cream and cherries and great tasting ice cream. Oh yes and it's the only place around that I know of that makes a knock out Boston Shake.Dietary restrictions: They have dairy free ice cream.Parking: Depends what time you go but they have a very small parking lot but plenty of street parking or a school parking lot across the street for the weekends when the line goes around the building.“
“The ice cream here is amazing! I don't think you can go wrong with any of their flavors. The peanut butter sundae was so good and the brownie sundae also was delicious. A regular size is huge not sure if I would be able to finish a large size.“
“This La Michaocana location is probably one of the best in the Chicagoland area. They don't skimp on the fruits. Their slushies are not that good tho, they are basically frozen juice that has been crushed/crumbled. They're not drinkable, it's basically shaved ice.“
