“We had a wonderful time on our anniversary and again when we returned to celebrate a friends birthday. The drinks were delicious and beautifully served. And every part of the meal was incredible! The apple and kale salad was amazing. The duck frites are so delicious and we have had the salmon dish and the pork chop dish. The portion sizes are generous and you won’t be disappointed!“

“Rudy and I celebrated our 40th anniversary there on 7/27. This was our first visit at the new location. Mickey was our Server and she is EXCELLENT at taking care of customers. We had a full menu with some leftovers for later. I splurged on a Blackberry Smash Mocktail. Interestingly different... We shared the Calamari appetizer. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and Rudy had Filet medallions! So much flavor!!! Portions for us gave leftovers. We didn't want to be miserable and wanted to save room for dessert - Creme Brulee (me) and Carrot Cake (Rudy). We even took some dessert home! It was a wonderful evening at a Hideout 125! For us, Hideout 125 is one of our special places for special events!“

“Stopped in from out of town with little time to spare before the Komets hockey game, almost didn’t go thinking there was no way we’d have time for a sit down restaurant on a Saturday night but called ahead about 15 minutes out. They got us right into a table, our server was with us right away. I never leave reviews but Tonya was so attentive and swift with our service that I felt obligated. In a world where it seems every time you go out and spend your hard earned money to enjoy a nice family meal you end up feeling like a burden on your server or put on the back burner, she was the exact opposite. You could feel that she was genuinely working to ensure that my family was well taken care of and had an excellent experience. We never had to wait for anything, she paid attention, anytime my wife or I thought of something we needed she would pop up and ask before I could even wave her over. (Yet she managed to not be that overeager, constantly asking you if you need anything to the point it becomes obnoxious server). She had several tables and I could see they were all receiving the same attention we were. There was no stopping to play on her phone or going out to take breaks, or talking with coworkers, we were a priority. Our drinks never ran dry and the timing was perfect. We got there and got sat right away, quickly got our drinks, salads immediately after, and by the time we were done with the salads and bread the food was there and PERFECT. The prime rib was amazing and the Ribeye was out of this world! Everything was cooked perfectly the first time out of the kitchen, our couple little requests were immediately addressed by Tonya and she returned quickly. She was great with our kids and even helped pack up our leftovers for the dog. We made it to the Colosseum with time to spare before the puck drop. 5 star food, accommodated quickly, and It was so refreshing to have a server that actually cared so much for her job. From the hostess, to the server, to the kitchen- 5 star service all the way around. We will go back whenever we’re in town.“

“My husband and I went to Bistro Nota a couple of weeks ago on a cold rainy Friday night. We went because one of the owners/chefs is Jake - formerly of Chop’s Wine Bar (when it was at it’s best). As is Jake’s forte, the the food was fabulous! We tried several different things. We ordered a bottle of the “house” red wine from their varied wine list. It was a great wine, far superior to what I expected from anyone’s house wine! The Pain et Fromage was delicious-Homemade Sliced Rosemary & Sea Salt Focaccia served with Roasted Pepper Cheese Dip. For dinner we tried their delicious Bistro Mac & Cheese - for an “a la carte” item it was a large portion. We ordered Low country Shrimp (GF) from the “small plates” portion of the menu - my husband doesn’t eat pork so they graciously omitted the bacon. We ordered Beef Teres Major entree -Petite Shoulder Tenderloin, Roasted Garlic Marinated, Potato Veloute, Sofrito with Grilled Focaccia. The staff is engaging, congenial & professional. The atmosphere is comfortable, urban, slightly industrial. We will go back to Bistro Nota again and again !!!“

“Stellar! Went in with some friends and we all ate vegan. They were SOOOO HELPFUL for someone who doesn't eat a lot of Mediterranean food, like myself. They have a huge range of sauces and varieties and even let me try one or two. The falafel is DELICIOUS and even though I had my falafel pita without any sauce, it wasn't dry and it tasted great! Give them a shot, they're really excellent.“

“I love this place. I’ve only been there one time (so far). Their computers were down, there was a sale for $5 cheesecakes (I got like 8🫣🤣 which btw, were DELICIOUS), there was a long line and orders coming in over the phone. Sounds like a lot right, BUT… all of the women behind the counter were smiling, they were patient, they were still happy to be there and seemed to love their jobs. I have five kids that I took with me and there is a super cute little playroom for them. The decor of the shop is SUPER cute and girly! I’d LOVE to have little play dates/ mommy meet ups here! Personally I'm vegetarian, my friend is not, but we both ordered the breakfast sandwich special of the day, and I was able to substitute with impossible sausage, they also offer turkey sausage if you don't do pork. And the food isn't even the best part: it's what I found out from the owner while we were eating- it's what the cafe means to her! The owner is the sweetest, most genuine women you could ever meet. She explained that she's not exactly had a great history of making choices in life and been in some rough spots herself, and has overcome the odds that got stacked against her to get where she is today. Not only did that story touch my heart strings, but she then went on to say that also her staff is mostly those who that society mislabels and judges before knowing their stories, and she is willing to give them a place and chance do better for themselves. Unfortunately two of the people working that day didn't come in, but you would never know because she ran everything so smoothly!! If you're in need of breakfast or lunch in the Ft Wayne area, definitely stop in! You won't be disappointed! Once you become a regular they'll even greet you by name as we saw several times during our time there!“

Today, home in Connecticut I was just picked up by an Uber driver, we were chatting and she said she just moved here from Fort Wayne to care for her parents, when I mentioned the restaurant she said she's been there many times, the food is fantastic, the interior is beautiful and the neighborhood is incredible!!! “Caliente has evolved a lot over the past couple years. One thing that is consistent however , is the awesome food. Priced well and worth the money. Anytime I'm working in downtown fort Wayne , I make it a point to stop in for lunch at least once a week!“

The duck ragoon appetizer or something I didn't know I needed until then. It comes piping hot, and totally worth burning your mouth for --please be careful! The inside is molten goodness with small bits of duck. It comes with a sweet chili dipping sauce and the outside has a thick crunch.

? For pizza, we ordered two 10-in regular crust pizzas to share. One was the Porky Pig and the other was the Bahn Mi. Porky Pig was our favorite of the two. The Bahn Mi did actually taste like the Vietnamese sandwich, but beware, there are little bits of jalapeno on it so there's a kick. The only issue was that the toppings on the pizzas had a hard time staying them as we had to tear the slices apart.

The next day though, cold leftovet pizza out of the fridge though was superb.??

I also got a cup of soup: Irish Stew. I felt like it might have been under seasoned.“
