Bonus they gave us a flight of desert cakes ! Obvious the coffee one was my favorite !“

“I drive out my way to come here . What other place ask your spice level for everything the chili they use is delicious just the right amount of spice i get medium and the kids get no spice its great! Chicken fried rice veggy egg rolls sweet and sour chicken orange chicken rice soup!!“

“Service is still great … but when closed then reopened, the quality of the food is now NOTICEABLY DIFFERENT (worse). Different chef, perhaps? Not sure what I mentioned it because I always order the same thing chicken with black bean and garlic sauce. The last two times I ordered it after they reopened they used dark meat and it was always always always white meat chicken. Also, the sauce is different. Something’s changed, but I’m just not sure what. It’s still my favorite Chinese restaurant in the south suburbs but they can do better. I say that because they’ve been better.“

“I decided to order something different from Kenking, the beef and gravy was good and tender but very salty I had to add water to make it palatable. The Cantonese fried shrimp was bland and needed some sauce for flavor. Overall the food is great, outside of the 2 dishes mentioned, so I will be going back but I will just stick to my regular order.“

“C & J has the best mixed vegetables, fried rice, egg rolls, & sesame chicken. & you can get a meal for a reasonable price. My mother introduced me to this place when I was a little girl. She would get the sweet & sour chicken w/ eggrolls to share with me. Now I've introduced my child to C& J. It still tastes the same. 10/10!“

“How about you take a seat and let me tell you a little bit about this place. A few weeks back the lady and I wanted some noodles and Crab Rangoon’s. So, headed over to CG to acquire the best in town. Upon arrival, we were greeted in the politest fashion. I had a beer or two in me when ordering, so I was a lot to deal with. They worked with us to configure the best take out order ever assembled. That’s not all. During this adventure, I left my phone sitting on a chair I was waiting in. I realized it once I got home, so I headed back to the store to pick it up before close. But to my dismay, I was far too late. They were closed! This was a Sunday evening, and they had already put their heart and souls into making great meals for us patrons all week, so I didn’t blame them for closing up shop for the week after their encounter with me. My phone was sitting there, locked safely inside the store. But because I live and work on that phone, I had to go into recovery mode. I did some digging and found a phone number to call and see if anyone who had a key to the store could meet me on a Monday, WHEN THEY ARE CLOSED FOR THE DAY MIND YOU! And sure enough they did. They met me at the store, handed me my phone and REFUSED the $20 I was offering for the help (should’ve offered more, I realize that now). Long story short, this place rules, the people are great, and we will be going back tonight. 10 out of 10!“

“I would’ve gave them 5 stars because the food is great and the service was great too. However, I ordered Shrimp fried rice and they add beef and chicken to it. I had to pick the chicken and beef out of my fried rice while eating it. Other than that everything was good. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long while. “Im unable to give 5 stars. The cheese wantons are made with imitation crab meat my wife could have died. I caught the pink flek before she swallowed. Anything made with sea food of any kind MUST be properly displayed. Your going to kill someone.

“I've passed this place probably a thousand times over the last 20 years. I never bothered to go in here because I thought it was closed down. I started working a new job a few doors down from this restaurant when I realized they were actually opened. I went into this location because I needed something to eat fast and much to my surprise it was a very good. The vegetable egg rolls were top-tier and the fried rice was fresh and tasty. I will definitely go back it was surprisingly delicious.“

I was over an hour late picking up my order because of unforeseen delays, and she made sure that everything was hot when I got there. They definitely prefer cash which is understandable seeing as credit cards charge them money. I'll be back. Food was incredible.“

“Have been a loyal customer to this restaurant for over 40 years and have continued to patronize it despite the inconsistency of food quality. Although I have always been treated kindly when I pick up my order, I can see why patrons complain about management, not overly friendly. It is in serious need of an update as peeling wallpaper and drab interior, regardless of the fact you can’t be seated for a meal, leaves one wondering how kitchen is kept up. “My husband and I just found out about this place. We love it! As with a buffet, there are some things you like, and some things you don't. You just do the best you can. As far as the food being cold, that can happen at any buffet. I know to go to the bottom where all the heat is. I always see them checking the food, stirring it, and replenishing it. There is always someone there checking to see if you need anything and taking your finished plates. They have been very nice to us. As far as the paper plates and plastic ware, that's a Covid precaution. There's a Buffet that I go to in Merriville that does the same thing. I don't mind! We usually go to China Buffet for lunch. I'm just going to make sure that I don't go to close to closing time. Oh yeah! They have the most delicious soft drinks ever.“
