“We were looking for a place to take the grandkids. My Wife is gluten free so that was also a consideration. We arrived mid/late afternoon. We were greeted by a nice dining room and quickly seated. Our server was quick to see if we wanted beverages and provided us menus. Everyone in our group ordered a different menu item for dinner. Our food arrived quickly, presentation was great, food was piping hot and well seasoned. Desserts were delicious in taste and a treat to the eyes. Prices were very reasonable. Last but not least, our server was very attentive and friendly. I give this restaurant 5 stars.“

And the meat in the tacos Is more than enough. In fact, you can split one taco and take the other tortilla and make another taco in a tacos we will definitely keep going to them“

“Not sure if they're affiliated, but we had eaten at the Schererville location and liked it so we' thought we'd try the Merrillville location this time around. Really love the decor inside and out, as well as the atmosphere. We were greeted warmly by a gentleman who may have been a manager? Seated right away. This was at 5:30 on a Saturday and not very crowded so that was nice. Our waiter took a bit of time to greet us, but once we ordered our drinks they came fairly quickly. Not so much with the food. Mexican restaurants are notoriously quick when it comes to delivering your food right away so I was actually okay with having a bit of extra time before eating. That said everything was slow thereafter. I was out of water and never got a refill. Took a minute for the waiter check in after we finished our food. Needed boxes and again, after delivering therm, he was MIA. Finally got the check.

All of the employees were friendly and professional, I just felt like the waiter could have been a bit more attentive.

“I had my 40th birthday here over the weekend using the party room with about 40 people. Everything turned out so nice. The food was delicious, the servers were very accommodating, there was live music (which I didn’t know about and many people in the party enjoyed) and a DJ at night. We had a blast and I’m so glad that I did the party here. I had a decorator come to add balloons, and some decor. I was worried that the room would be too small, but it worked out perfectly. Thank you Emilio’s for hosting my special event, we had a great time!“

We just moved to the Chicago area from South Texas, so we know good Mexican food and this place does not disappoint! If you are anywhere near Gary Indiana, you have to stop in to Chela's. It's not fancy at all, but is very clean and the prices are good. We had the Birria Tacos, chips and salsa and several different meat tacos. The had adequate seating, comfortable ambience, CLEAN tables, and fast service. He got the “named burrito” (just forgot the guys name) and a small cheese fry, and I got the gyro sandwich. Mine was H•U•G•E and his was massive. I plan on returning and trying their tacos. They have specials, Tuedays is $2 tacos at time being. I highly recommend if you’re looking for this type of food.
