Tried an assortment of items (chile relleno dinner, variety of tacos such as beef, fish, steak, pork, chorizo, chicken mole) and everything was excellent! “Delicious 100% Authentic Mexican food, freshly prepared. I went with the Zacatecana burger and it did not disappoint at all, I added avocado slices and it enhanced my burger. They are known for their “Quesabirria’s” along with ramen, it was very delicious and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this homey feel restaurant, you will not regret it. They serve some of the most delicious tacos I’ve ever had. I’ve tried every single one, and they never disappoint. The shrimp tacos are my personal favorite — packed with flavor — but the tripe, salmon, and steak tacos are also incredibly tasty.

Their nachos are great as well, loaded and satisfying. And you can’t leave without getting one of their horchata drinks… so refreshing and the perfect complement to the meal.

They have a sale right now. My $21 meal after doordash fees is $37 and that's not even including tip. It's a $8 fee just to use doordash. There's nothing yall can do about that because it's doordash but ts really suck I have to wait until tomorrow when I'm off just to get a burrito bowl.“

“I ordered the steak torta on my first visit and it was incredible fresh bread, tender steak, and a really balanced flavor all the way through. I went back the next week for the steak tacos, and they were just as impressive. The corn tortillas were cooked perfectly with that light crisp you want, and the steak was seasoned just right.

The red sauce has a good kick, so if you’re sensitive to heat you’ll feel it, but the flavor makes it totally worth it. Service was quick, prices were fair, and the food has been consistently excellent. I’ll definitely be going back to try more of the menu.“

“We found this place on our way to Raleigh, NC from Chicago. Stopped here after reading reviews online. TRUST THE REVIEWS that say this place is good...IT IS GOOD! We just moved to the Chicago area from South Texas, so we know good Mexican food and this place does not disappoint! If you are anywhere near Gary Indiana, you have to stop in to Chela's. It's not fancy at all, but is very clean and the prices are good. We had the Birria Tacos, chips and salsa and several different meat tacos. Then, on our way back from North Carolina, we stopped in again! My fiance thinks this is the best Mexican food outside of Texas. THAT'S saying something! We can't wait to go back!“

“They use to be my go to but since the owner doesn't be there anymore they be messing up. I've asked to speak with the owner for 2 different occasions and never got a call back. I've been rocking with them since they were on US 30. I always spend over $20 anytime I go there but when my oder is messed up I NEVER receive any accommodation. How do I order staek and shrimp fajitas but get home and dont have shrimp and I was told the only thing she could do was not charge me for shrimp next time I make a purchase or I could come get the shrimp that THEY forgot to put on my food.
