About Culinary Dropout

Culinary Dropout is a welcoming brunch spot and group restaurant with a great atmosphere and genuinely great food. The service is consistently attentive and top-notch, contributing to a relaxed and fun vibe. Many guests return for birthdays, holidays, and nothing special days.

The menu features shareable appetizers like pretzel bites and buffalo wings, though some items like the pretzels or fondue may not always be served sufficiently warm. Entrees receive mixed praise; the skirt steak frites is fantastic, the fried chicken and Crispy Chicken Katsu are delicious with crispy, well-seasoned breading, but the fish and chips can be overly greasy. Sides like the brussel sprouts may be sauced too heavily for some. For dessert, the monkey bread with baked apples and ice cream is good. The Paloma Spritz is highly recommended, though some non-alcoholic beverage prices can feel excessive. While the atmosphere and service are regularly praised, some feedback notes that at its price point, the execution on the plate regarding seasoning and balance does not always measure up.

Culinary Dropout (The Summit, Birmingham) was a perfect restaurant to end our girls’ trip. The atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping - live music, fun vibe, esthetically beautiful. The food was great! Our Pizzas, Butternut Squash and Kale Salad, the Chocolate Pie, and the Monkey Bread were Divine!!! Our server, KATIE, was the most precious! She was attentive, kind, sweet, and went above and beyond for our group (even after a recent mouth surgery). So SO Good!!!!

Great atmosphere and great service! Would definitely recommend it here.

The place was way overpriced, and everything was just… blah. The atmosphere was extremely loud, and the whole vibe came off as pretentious—like it was trying way too hard to be cool and trendy, but it ended up feeling forced and basic
