“Went for lunch and it was great. The only complaint I have is that the menus were dirty they had food on them not one but two of them. So please clean your menus at the end of your shifts.A dirty menu is not worth losing business for great good.“
“I think sometimes we forget to thank those in this profession. Employees were very nice , food took like 3 minutes to get. Place was clean! Employees were really on top of the job, even was told to have a great day. The little things count! Also the Manager was even engaged to make sure order was spot on. ??????“
“I'll start off by saying this has never been my favorite restaurant. I go because my adult children like it. I have had one good meal in all my times going. I tried to order it again and it was so hot that I couldn't eat it. I am in search of something that I like. My kids did like their meals but for my oldest son, he ordered the shrimp and grits and he said they were much hotter than the previous time that he got them. They were almost too hot to enjoy. I would say consistency is lacking. I know it's a popular spot, but it's just not favorite.“
“Love the birria pizza with steak and steak tacos. Only complaint is hard to get through on the phone trying to place an order. I tried several times tonight and gave up, having to order through grubhub and be charged more than what's charged in the restaurant. Expect longer wait times when placing an order, service definitely isn't the fastest.“
“As the oldest Mexican restaurant in Fort Wayne, this is our favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is fresh, hot, and so delicious! We love the salsa too. Jose, our server, was awesome and provided fantastic service. He said he's been making the salsa there since he was 13 over 40 years ago. So far, the enchiladas with rice and beans is our favorite meal there. Support your local businesses and give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.“
“My apologies for the late post, but better late than never! If you saw my post about the Illinois road location... OMG Guadalupe's is consistent! The Vegan Options are amazing! The service was wonderful, super friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The lady who was assisting us informed us that she eats the vegan options too! The portions Wow! We've been back since and between the two locations we really enjoy them both. If you're ever in the area stop in and check them out! You won't regret it! Keep it up!!!“
“I haven't ate here in a few years. The salsa was spot on. Lots of flavor. Waitress was very patient and helpful as we 5 kids under the age of 9. She was very attentive and refills were brought. Everyone finished their food and left full. I always get the steak in chile verde. No Mexican restaurant comes near how tasteful the chile verde is ! Thank you mi parilla for the great experience.“
“Continues to be A+ and a consistent positive attitude and excellent service to the very end of closing.A bite on an icy late evening that was most enjoyable. Authentic food with a relaxed atmosphere. Fair prices.Excellent service and attitude by staff.Dietary restrictions: Will custom make your selected dish.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access.“
“?? The restaurant is very simple without pretense. The south wall is full of Central American products and food for sale. Decorated simply with a few paintings and a couple of TVs. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive with your choice of fountain beverages or Mexican soda bottles. So I gave the atmosphere and service 5 stars based on what category it is in: a family-run small business specializing in ethnic dishes. I am not comparing it to a large restaurant chain or a gourmet restaurant with professionally trained front of house staff.GET THE PUPUSAS!!! I love them all, but my favorite is the mixed or the bean and cheese. They're served with Curtido, which is like El Salvadorian coleslaw-sourkraut-kimchi. It's delicious, vinegarie with heat. When you order chips and salsa, they fry the chips fresh for you. The salsa is thick with tomatoes, white onions, cilantro, and jalapeños. It's very tasty with a nice kick ?.The Tostones are fried plantains with cream and are a sweet desert to help pull the fire away from their red and green homemade hotsauce or any of the 4 or 5 different bottles of hotsauce on the table.Their tacos are delicious, too, corn tortillas stuffed with steak or chicken and cilantro and onions. Really flavorful! On cold and rainy days, they have excellent soups, Sopa de Gallina with fried chicken or Caldo De Res, which come with El Salvadorian white rice and plain pupusas. They have Elote and egg dishes and steak and seafood, quite a large menu that I have yet to work my way through.I love this little restaurant. It's the epitome of the American dream!?? ??“
“Always heard about this place. Always drove buy until saturday nite . We took some relatives out for dinner . Hostess was very friendly. Food arrived to table hot and quick. Like the fish cevechie that they put on table with rhe chips and salsa. My seafood pot was a boiling and so delicious. Margiritas were tasty and a above average . Eveeybody will be back to try more dinners .“
“I was at the Cresent Avenue location with my girlfriend (Ava Zinn) and what she ordered was truly amazing. Highly recommend Mexican restaurant that she recommended for our hot lunch date on February 13, 2023. I’m sure Ava will post a great review.“
“Ever since Banditos closed, i have mossed having a full service restaurant in that building. I will try this place again. There is room for improvement regarding the flavor of the food. I will ask for the next level up in their salsa. I like that they offer degrees pf heat on their recipes. Improvement needs to be made in regards the overall It os a busy place and i need to smple some othet dishes. Enchiladas are usually by design pretty typivcal. I enjoyed those..“
“This is only my second or third time here, but I enjoy it. I got a bowl with chicken, rice, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, cheese, guacamole and a drink. I love that you basically pick from a bowl, burrito, tacos, or salad and build what you want as far as meat, rice, chicken, etc. The guacamole does cost extra, but I don't mind. I meant to take a picture, but was so hungry ate almost all my food first. It's good food and friendly workers. Will be back!!“
“if you dine-in they reuse the same taco sauce that they sit at everyone else's table. they take it back wipe it down use the same exact sauce and bowls. I have been there several times but I always get my stuff to go and I watch them make the sauce to go“
“If you want amazing authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the place. Easy to drive by and not noticed the restaurant but absolutely worth the visit. My tacos for so delicious that I had a hard time finishing everything I ordered. Staff was glorious as well.“
“Yesterday was my first time eating here. The staff was friendly and everything was nice and clean. The big star was the food! I had the carnitas burrito. Packed full of some of the most delicious carnitas I've ever had. I highly recommend The Famous Taco.“
“*edit**I emailed you as you asked, and its been 9 days with no response. You clearly do not want to make it right with us. It seems you only promptly respond to public reviews.*My husband and I went here at least 2 to 3 times a week, so writing this review makes me sad. We will not be returning to this location unless we see some new employees. My husband was a huge Chipotle fan because they make giant burritos. I convinced my husband to patronize Guadelupe's instead because they are locally owned and Catholic. Literally every. Single. Time. that we came in to order we received obnoxious comments from the employees that our burrito was too big and they couldn't wrap it and they were so bugged that the burrito had too many ingredients on it. We understand the burrito is big, but we even pay for the extra costs happily and we started to tip them extra because they made us uncomfortable and we felt bad that they were so troubled with wrapping the burritos. The comments and gestures that we received got so bad that we will not be returning. This last visit the woman threw her hands up and said "this isn't even a burrito."Again, we're aware that the burrito is big...but if we're coming in 2 to 3 times a week, sometimes more than that and patronizing your business, you would think that they would get to know us, be kind to us and just take care of us. It's not that hard to double wrap a burrito. Why offer all the ingredients in the first place if it's so obnoxious to ask for them? And again, we pay for the up charges! It's like so confusing because the Chipotle employees don't blink twice at wrapping really big burritos. We will be going back to Chipotle for our "obnoxious" burritos.“
“The garage door and downtown vibes are really neat. But, overall I’m not really sure the Mexican food & drinks were above others in town. Our service was good. I’ll come back and try again.Update: April 2024: tried it again and the food was average, the service was great but the music was WAY TOO LOUD and it made it difficult to have a conversation. It was too windy or we would have eaten outside.“
“Best authentic Mexican food in the NE Fort Wayne area, homemade tortillas just like the ones my madre makes. The tamales were pretty good and didn’t skimp on the meat. The sopes tasted fresh and not frozen like many other Mexican restaurants in Fort Wayne. The service was a bit chaotic, the server was the waiter, bartender, cashier, and busboy. My guy needs help.“
“First time there tonight and it was busy and we still had great service with them even. Being short-staffed and the food was nothing short of amazing with great flavors every time you take a bite. I think we'll be making this a new family restaurant for our family.“
“Fast, fresh, affordable, and delicious, what more can i say? I had the chorizo taco, a spicy chicken burrito, a can of soda for 9 dollars, better price than taco bell and better quality by far plus supporting a local business what's not to love?“
“The personnel is very attentive and have great customer service. The restaurant is very clean. They have a good menu with authentic delicious mexican comfort food. A good selection of domestic and mexican beers and Margaritas. Definitely will be back.“
“Very friendly! A bit pricy but they lured me in with pork belly tacos. Very Asian inspired, sweet with a crisp slaw. But very crispy pork belly for sure! Salsa/chips were standard, their 'middle' spice salsa option packed a punch!“
“I got the tacos with beans and rice special, al pastor on my tacos. It could not have been better. The tacos were huge and the meat was the best al pastor I've ever had. The rice and beans were both great also. With a small horchata it was less than $10, so killer prices also.“
“I love going here! They have the best yogurt fruit cups (I can’t remember what it’s actually called) but they’re so amazing and a a good treat all year round. Their steak tacos are my favorite! But their horchata is always on point! Absolutely recommend this place. 10/10Parking: It’s down a busy road“
“This place is AMAZING! I've lived in Fort Wayne for a long time and had never tried this place before my friend showed me a few months ago. And let me tell you I eat there at least a few times a month if not more! Food is beyond good. I highly recommend the chicken tamales and the elote! Staff is always super nice. The inside is always clean and welcoming. If you want good authentic Mexican food for a great price, this is the place for you!“
“Delicious street tacos! I used to come here all the time to get tacos when I lived very close. They were $1 each back then. Now they have them for $1.50 each on Wednesdays, which is still a great deal in my opinion. I am very pleased that after all these years the tacos still taste just as great as they did back then. And they don't skim on the meat either!“
“Our first visit to Billy's was on a Saturday night at 8:30 pm and we will definitely go back. My hubby got the broasted chicken and it was delicious. He's looking forward to going back when they have their broasted pork chops. I had the ribs and they did not disappoint. Meaty and the sauce was so good. The only thing I could recommend would be to caramelize the sauce onto the ribs for an even better taste. The sides (mashed potatoes with gravy/corn/side salad) were all perfect especially those creamy, homemade mashed potatoes. Their chips and salsa were good but if you want a little heat in your salsa, ask for a side of their chopped green chilis to add to it. The only negative thing I can say is that the side of beans and cheese we ordered definitely needed some seasoning as we both found it very bland so we didn't eat it. We brought it home and my hubby doctored it the next day and it was delicious. I wish I could remember our servers name but I can't. She was a young, dark haired girl who was extremely pleasant and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit!“
“Yesterday was my second ever visit to Jalapeños Mexican Grill III. My first visit I had the Chipotle burrito, this visit I had the Nachos Del Mar. Both times, the food was delicious!! The portions are large, the staff is great, decor, atmosphere, everything is great! I highly recommend trying this place!!!“
“I love this place best Mexican food in Fort Wayne!! Staff friendly efficient food served fast and hot!! Loved the salsa and chips especially adding queso cheese dip. I always get shrimp fajitas definitely superior as I do not like green peppers and you can get them that way here!! Always accommodating year after year same superb job!!!“
“Man these the best tacos in ft.wayne I moved here from chicago and tried so many places around ft wayne and always drive past this food truck but I stopped one day… never regretted it. it’s been my new taco tuesday spot y everyday almost but shhh!! It’s amazing go check it out !“
“The food here is very good, the drinks are great (try a Long Island or a Cadillac Margarita), and the servers are wonderful (they greet me by name everytime I go)! The only thing that I would change is the salsa - they do smooth salsas with minimal lime and cilantro, while I prefer a thicker, more flavorful style (I mix all three flavors toether and add some salt & pepper to suit my taste). All around a great place!Kid-friendliness: The restaurant has two sides: a family side with TV's and an adult, sports bar-like side - something for everyone!“
“I love that this isFamily friendly atmosphere. Children are allowed to be children. Onlookers look at them in adoration and at the parents without judgement. If they tell you your order will be ready in 15, it will be ready in 15 minutes fresh and hot. They are so friendly to all customers. I am able to wait for my food without feeling uncomfortable or out of place. Basically the food taste like the customer service. Phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend. Never seen the cook but he/she gets down they do not play. The little woman who owns the place exudes warmth and is always available. Step in especially if you are looking for a family oriented restaurant with great food!“
“One of the most authentic Mexican spots in the Fort. In fact one of the best in Indiana. Once you acquire an Asada taste for Mexican this is the place to go. I didn't start enjoying it until I acquired the taste. Be patient; you'll get there, just promise!“
“Update: Rating hasn't changed. The food was decent. We were served queso dip with a big chunk of the "skin" that's formed when it is sitting without being stirred. And my Texas Margarita looked and tasted like the regular margarita. In fact, my biggest complaint about Don Chava's is the inconsistency in their margaritas.“
“Very good food! I had the pastor tacos and tamale combo. The meat was well seasoned and tender and the tamale was amazing. The owner gave us some complimentary guacamole and chips. The homemade guac was very good. If you like authentic food and friendly service, you have to try out this great food truck!“
