“This is my husband, and I first day in Portsmouth, after moving here. This was probably the best option to get a taste of Portsmouth. John was our waiter and he was phenomenal. His communication was on point, he knew about everything on the menu, and all of his recommendations we took into consideration, tried the food, and absolutely loved every single dish that you see attached to my photos. The best thing definitely was the lemon tres leches with raspberry drizzle!! Our waiter, he recommended this, and it was to die for, he also recommended the tiki cart, and my husband loved his alcoholic beverage. The bathrooms are clean, this place had tons of people in it, I love the set up, I love the decorations, there's even outdoor seating as well. We will definitely be back to try different items on the menu anyone new to Portsmouth, or haven't tried this restaurant yet, you are missing out, go check it out now!“
“I cannot even begin to explain fully into words my love for my first time experience with this restaurant. I don't easily get won over by a business and its services but CBC has proven what I desire does in fact exist. I am a history nerd to the extreme so their nod to the CCC history in the area is great. Their simplistic approach to decor is honestly refreshing in comparison to most places which overly decorate to overstimulate the senses. But to focus on the the most important aspect of the reason I leave this review, the food! The Civilian Burger is honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had. The bacon jam is honestly the best flavored bacon jam I have ever had. The combination on the burger itself was heavenly. The fries ordered crisp resulted in some of the best quality fries you can have. I was also able to sample the slaw they have which by the I REALLY need the recipe for because it has to be the best slaw I have ever had! The slaw has to be some of the best I have ever had but you must try it! 100% this place is the place to try if you are in the area!“
