“I have purchased a couple of “KEY LIME PIES” (in the past) that were outta this world delicious, from the key lime filling to the best graham cracker crust ever. I heard about their Friday night Fried Chicken so we brought some friends and tried it out. Well I thought nothing could get better than the pies but….. This fried chicken is fall off the bone tenderest tastiest chicken I’ve had and so is the mac and cheese. Everything we put in our mouth from this meal was fresh, tasty, hot and delicious. It’s a quant, little diner with fast friendly service. The Expresso Martini is one of the best Ive had too…. I highly recommend and we’ll be back again soon!!!“

We sat for an unreasonably long time before we were even greeted. After the waitress was openly hostile to us, we left money on the table for the incorrect drinks and left before we even ordered dinner. We walked 10 steps over to 715 and were greeted warmly and seated immediately at the bar. The service was top notch and the food was wonderful. The atmosphere was lively, fun and bustling. If you want great service, excellent food and great atmosphere, just go next door to 715. They saved our Christmas Eve date night, and we didn’t even have reservations! Thank you 715!!“

“My husband made patio reservations here for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing! We live an hour and half away and it was definitely worth the drive. I had the paella and my husband had the lamb that was on special and both dishes were great. I am not normally a fan of lamb but it was so yummy I would order it for myself. The dessert and cocktails were perfect and the staff was excellent.We haven't stopped raving about it since we were there. I highly recommend it and we will definitely make another trip to visit!“

“Had a great experience before leaving Lawrence this morning. The cafe we were planning on going to for breakfast was closed, so we went a couple storefronts down to Global Cafe. The weather was gorgeous and we ate outside. I had a fantastic smoothie and latte. In the time it took us to finish our meal, I watched as the waitstaff handed out no less than eight free to-go breakfasts and coffees to what appeared to be people without housing. From the interactions I witnessed, it was clear that these were regular customers, and the waitstaff treated them with such dignity - just like any other customer. “I had been forgotten by my server, but the staff swooped in and made it right! We were not upset at all, they were lovely and the atmosphere was very cozy. Food was GREAT. Highly recommend The Phog with the shallot topping, the truffle fries, the bacon cheddar fries, honestly all of it! Definitely check this place out for a tasty, affordable, cozy location downtown.“

“My favorite pizza! I love the slight spice a basic pepperoni pizza brings. The place is small with not that much seating and very chilly. Sometimes they’ll be out of aguas frescas (probably because they’re so good). Service has always been very helpful and fast.“

“EDIT TO ADD: Rick, the general manager contacted me same day and was amazing! Come to find out, Noah was brand new that day so, I understand the issue with the service. Waiting tables is hard work anyway and it’s especially hard when it’s you first day and you don’t know the policy. Rick also reimbursed my meal and apologized. In short, They were quick to reach out and rectify the problem, which I am very grateful for and impressed. My faith in HuHot is restored and I will remain a faithful patron! Normally we have a very good experience, today… not so much! Had the WORST server I think I’ve ever had “Noah B”, or at least in the bottom 3. He did not visit our table 1 time until he brought the check, no refills. Then, I asked for a box. . . I had been through the line 1 time, had eaten about 5 bites when my stomach revolted (not because the food wasn’t good, I have a stomach issue that causes me to occasionally not be able to eat, unfortunately I don’t know it’s going to happen until I try to eat) I explained this to the server and he still would not let me have a box. So 1 whole meal wasted. It took him 8 minutes to make change for our bill, and then he shorted us $3. The cook was very polite and cooked our meal well. I don’t know if or when we will return to the Lawrence, KS HuHot, but it wont be anytime soon. Do better!“

“I had the Caprisi sandwich and a cup of coffee. I was slightly disappointed when I tried to pour the house blend, which turned out to be an empty pot. I decided on the only other dark roast available. I mentioned it to one of the staff behind the counter, and he seemed genuinely concerned that the pot was left empty.
I sat down and enjoyed the sun coming through the windows and the excellent sandwich. To my surprise, a few moments later, the gentleman from behind the counter brought me a fresh cup of the house coffee. I really appreciate his thoughtfulness and excellent service, it made my day.“

“Just moved back home after living in Lawrence and eating Pancho’s chorizo breakfast burrito twice a week for nearly a year. The staff is always kind and the line is never too long.
