“I only rated the atmosphere a 4 because the post on Google says they aren't busy at 3:00 p.m. and it was packed. I don't like to be in a busy restaurant.
The food was excellent! They redid their menu, plus remodeled since I was here several years ago. I didn't like their menu back then. It is under new ownership and Nathan does a fantastic job! He also owns Thirsty's!!“

“This is our stop round-trip between Illinois and Colorado every couple months. The menu of homemade comfort food at affordable prices is a gem of a place. Today I had a bowl of green bean dumpling soup and my husband had chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese on French bread, but there are other bread choices. See you on our way back to Illinois!“

“Road trip brought us here to Hays Kansas. Unplanned and completely random stoping for gas and decided on a meal as well. Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised with a very good pork adobo, fresh pansit, lumpia and some right out of the oven Ube pan de sal with cheese. Polite staff and quiet atmosphere.“

“I was there on a busy night without a reservation. Wait was not long at all, staff was very attentive and even offered free dessert for my wait. To my surprise earlier a very nice gentleman had already paid for my dinner. Hays, KS has the nicest people. A big thank you to whomever paid for my meal!!!!“

“Osaki is one of the best places to eat in Hays! The quality is always extremely high and consistent especially at the price points they offer. I have spent far more in places like Salina and Wichita and gotten far less and much lower quality fish. You can tell the staff at Osaki really love giving Hays much more authentic japanese dishes. The sashimi always comes in huge generous pieces and never tastes fishy. They truly take pride in what they do and it shows every time!“

“Driving home from Colorado and had the biggest craving for Asian food. Stopped in Hays, KS to fill up on gas and found this place. I was at first very skeptical of getting Asian food from a small town. They proved me wrong! Not only does it taste yummy but the amount of food you get for the price is phenomenal. Anytime I make a stop in Hays I will absolutely stop at this place. I ordered the veggie lo mein and a mango green tea with boba.“

“We weren’t sure if we would be able to be served when we arrived 30 minutes before they closed. But they took really good care of us. The steaks were amazing and the service was excellent. They even served us complimentary ice cream since it was Mother’s Day the next day.“

“February 1, 2025 Ashley, Bronco, and I woke up early, finished packing up the Jeep and headed out to Wichita, Kansas. First stop was Loves Travel Stop in Burlington Colorado for Bronco to run around the dog park, our second stop was Taco Shop for lunch in Hays, Kansas! Then made it to The Keeper of the Plains Riverwalk in Wichita Kansas and called it a day!

“bustling with life, they were busy, & were still able to seat tables adequately. my sevice was perfectly precise on her recommendation. The prime rib... prepared perfect & on point, & served without much of a wait. Impressive. strawberry cheesecake was indulgent & creamy. This is definitely one of the treasures of Hays, Ks.
