GJ Fish & Chicken Restaurant is a place where customers keep coming back. The food comes out fresh, and while there may be a wait, many reviewers note that chicken takes time to cook, especially if you want it cooked right. The service is professional, and the hospitality and customer service can teach every other business in KC that being polite and friendly is why these guys have customers line up. When you first walk in, a young gentleman greets you with a friendly hello and a smile, and his upbeat positive attitude makes you feel like the most important person to walk thru their doors that day.

The food is delicious, and everything has its own flavor, which reviewers note isn't common with other fish and chicken places. The fish and chicken taste like fish and chicken, and the fries are delicious. The chicken is superb, especially with lemon pepper sprinkled on it. The catfish was probably the best in Kansas City, and the cat fish was so good that one reviewer ordered more. The homemade Mac n Cheese is some of the creamiest and cheesiest on this side of the Mississippi. The fish was seasoned well, and all of the sides were flavorful, even the potato salad. The banana pudding was ok. Lots of options but a bit limited on the halal side. Prices are very affordable and wallet friendly. Great atmosphere, and service is top notch.
