“Today was our first experience with Slim Chickens. We arrived around 2:30 in the afternoon. We were a group of 5 who was not having the greatest of days. We had left the oncologist office (my hubby was diagnosed the day after his 64th bday with stage 4 cancer) getting the results of his first Pet scan. They weren't fabulous. Left there to go to a different place to eat that he really likes. In the process of trying to park we were in a little fender bender. Directly in the door where he was sitting. But nobody hurt thank God and very minimal damage to either car. That restaurant closed so we decided to try Slim Chickens. So very glad we got to try it!!!! First off it was spotless! Not sure who the gentleman behind the counter was but he was awesome. Several of us wanted salads and asked about the lettuce. He told us what he had but offered to chop up the different type they had if we would prefer. I am picky about my lettuce so I really really appreciated that. AND IT WAS AN AMAZING SALAD!!! I ate the whole thing!! Also the lady doing the kitchen side was GREAT too. She brought us To-go boxes without having to ask. Said if we needed anything to let her know!! The whole experience was excellent after the last few hours (and month) that we have had. Oh and the prices are very reasonable. We had 5 in our group. Everyone had a meal and drink and total bill was only $60. So if you are traveling on I35 near McPherson or live close and haven't tried there, DO IT!!! You won't be disappointed I promise!!“

“Coming in from Chicago, we wanted some good traditional Mennonite food, like my family makes, and we were not disappointed! Cute, homey atmosphere with lots of locals, and bustling with business. Our waitress was so friendly, we felt like family. The vrenika was amazing, as was the German sausage, zwieback, and incredible coconut cream pie. We didn't have any, but it was Fried Chicken Friday, and it must've been good because it was packed. Wish we lived closer!“
