“I ordered from here online. I called ahead and got some suggestions because I am pregnant. John was beyond helpful in answering my questions and offering suggestions. He told me to put a note in my online order about being pregnant so they would be aware. He even called back and let me know one of the ingredients was not safe so they would be leaving off. It made me feel so good they took my concerns seriously. 10/10 recommend.“

“Sushi Kodawari is a great omakase experience. The staff is professional and attentive to the guests. Getting to enjoy the freshly grated wasabi and a dozen pieces of imported nigiri is a treat. Lots of cool decorations are touches that give a true transportive experience like your in Japan. Would dine here again.

“It was a busy evening since the Chiefs had just won in the afternoon, so I was glad that I had made reservations. (When we were leaving, there were still many people coming in.) Met up with my son and daughter-in-love who were traveling back to Kansas from Michigan. We enjoyed several "Happy Hour" drink specials and menu options that were available even though it was a Sunday, which was very nice! Our server, Sol, was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Any delays were not her fault, but were attributed to the restaurant being so busy. Son and DIL are seasoned sushi patrons and had been to Blue Sushi Sake Grill previously, but I had not. It was nice that there were a couple of non-sushi options - I enjoyed the lettuce wraps and also a house salad with grilled chicken and honey sesame dressing. Overall, a very nice experience for our unplanned, early "Thanksgiving."“

“A good selection of Korean and Japanese food. The bento boxes are a great option for lunch. It is a nice, warm atmosphere and not loud. You order at the counter. The menu on the wall behind the counter can be hard to read for those of us who need glasses.“

“My absolute favorite sushi place. The novelty of the conveyor belt is wonderful but the fact that you can custom order what you want at the kiosk at your table makes this place really stand out. So it doesn't matter where you sit because you can always order what you want and it comes generally pretty speedy. Only once out of my four visits so far have I had to wait significantly for rolls that I ordered. Wish this place offered regular wine though! You will be limited to a variety of sake, sodas, tea, and beer. Which is unfortunate since who I usually have sushi with is a wine drinker! And this is true of me as well.
If you have someone in your party who hates fish, there are some interesting steak rolls they can try as well as a children's menu with french fries. You can also order ramen bowls and other complete meals if you don't prefer sushi at all.
The price is definitely right at 3.50 per plate. The app also allows you to make reservations for busy times, which is a lifesaver on Friday night on the Plaza!“

“The BEST Asian restaurant in the Northland! The food is absolutely amazing—every dish we’ve tried has been outstanding. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the attention to detail is top-notch. You have to try the crab wontons—they’re a must! We just had the Tokyo crispy chicken, and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Honestly, I haven’t had a single thing here that I didn’t love. Chris, the owner, always greets us with a warm smile, and he and his staff make you feel truly welcome every time. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and such a friendly atmosphere—Saki is hands down our favorite spot!“

“Food and drinks are delicious, and there's a side area for anyone who doesn't want to be in the main lobby area where there is a crowd. I am autistic and have sensory issues and this place was perfect to help me calm down. The staff was super nice and courteous. “I've been out here in Kansas City for about 6 years now. Sadly, 5 of those years I didn't know about Jun's.
Jun's is inviting, friendly, and consistent. The sushi chefs are so good at what they do.
My favorite thing is sitting down at the sushi bar with one of the chefs I've gotten to know and telling him approximately what my budget is for the night and letting him do his thing. It's always amazing.
If you're a sushi fan and you've felt that KC might not be a place for good sushi, try Jun's. If you're like me and always on the hunt for good spots. This is a bullseye.
