“Our party of 7 went tonight to celebrate the youngest kiddo turning 19. We were promptly greeted upon walking in and the hostess was very polite. Our server greeted us and handed us menus as we sat down. He was full of smiles and very polite. He had his hands full as we kept asking questions and ordering drinks and appetizers. He did it all with courtesy and again, lots of smiles. Our cook was incredible. He didn't like talking much but he always had a smile on his face and told our daughter Happy Birthday. They came out with a drum and sang to her and everyone clapped and wished her a Happy Birthday. What an incredible experience!! We will def be back! OH!!! Several sushi rolls were ordered as well and ALL of the food was delicious. 0 complaints!! Thank you all for making our daughter's birthday dinner a hit!!!!“

“I’ve been here about a dozen times and I get the same thing every time, the Shanghai udon, and it is my new comfort food. It is so, so good. The sauce on it is absolutely divine. I want to try more menu items but the udon is so good I keep coming back to it“

“I found this place 2 years ago as a quick lunch with a friend who is pescatarian . We definitely found a gem because we’ve been coming here ever since. Their lunch specials are pretty reasonable and you get a lot of food. Brought my daughter for dinner tonight and she loved it. We recommend the caterpillar roll and the spider roll.“

“The BEST Asian restaurant in the Northland! The food is absolutely amazing—every dish we’ve tried has been outstanding. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the attention to detail is top-notch. You have to try the crab wontons—they’re a must! We just had the Tokyo crispy chicken, and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Honestly, I haven’t had a single thing here that I didn’t love. Chris, the owner, always greets us with a warm smile, and he and his staff make you feel truly welcome every time. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and such a friendly atmosphere—Saki is hands down our favorite spot!“

I tried several dishes, including fatty tuna, salmon, scallops, sweet shrimp, seared beef with garlic chips, and specialty rolls topped with avocado and shrimp. The fish was fresh, and the quality was surprisingly good for a conveyor-belt sushi chain in the Midwest. The sweet shrimp and scallops were particularly impressive, while the seared beef sushi offered a nice change of pace.

The restaurant itself was clean, modern, and lively, with plenty of families and groups enjoying the experience. Service was minimal but efficient, since most orders are delivered directly to your table through the express lane.

While the sushi may not rival high-end restaurants in Japan, Kura succeeds in delivering authentic Japanese flavors and a playful atmosphere at a reasonable price. For Japanese expats or anyone craving casual sushi in Kansas City, it is one of the best options available.“

“The sushi and hibachi food is very good and if you sit on the hibachi side it’s entertaining. There’s 3-4 hibachi tables and maybe 8-10 tables for sushi and a small sushi bar you can sit at.

The place isn’t overly noisy, it’s actually pretty quiet most of the time because they never have music playing or anything. It is fairly clean, small bathrooms, and there is always Valentine’s Day heart decorations year round haha.

So the atmosphere isn’t “amazing” or “romantic” however, the food is delicious and their alcoholic beverages are decent.

But I do recommend them simply based on their food. It’s good for eating there and for getting it to-go, it is always fresh.“
