“Outstanding sushi, in the middle of the country. Many of the sushi rolls have chilis, which is a little different than I'm used to on the east coast. The Everything Salmon appetizer was outstanding but small, we kept ordering more of them!“
“This is our go-to place for sushi in KC. Take out or dine in, the bento boxes are delicious, filling, and affordable, ramen is excellent, and sushi is unparalleled in our very-landlocked metropolis. Staff are always friendly and professional.“
“Wow. Everything about this place is wonderful. The atmosphere, the service , the FOOD. My sister and I went here for a girls night and the quiet lovely atmosphere was perfect. Our server, Cadence, was so sweet and gave such a good energy that just added to the whole experience. My sister and I split the Vegas Roll and Chicken & Shrimp Hibachi !!! DELISH“
“What a nice little spot! We went here before catching a movie at AMC. The prices compared to the quality of everything is AMAZING. And the servings are generous. We had the tonkatsu ramen, avocado bomb (this was incredible but it’s so much food for an appetizer, because it was rich I could only eat one piece, which is still half an avocado lol!), VIP roll, drunken fish roll, Philadelphia roll, and a bottle of plum soju to share (plum is the best flavor imo, and I’ve tried all the flavors of Jinro soju). The service was so lovely. The host and server were both very kind and hospitable. And the lighting/ambiance was nice for an evening meal.Overall highly recommend if you’re in the area!“
“Awesome fresh sushi! Couldn't recommend enough the food alone speaks for this place. Service was great never had to ask for anything. Left my card there and I live over half an hour away so they mailed it to me. Awesome people 10 out of 10“
“Ordered the combination lo mein, combination fried rice, orange chicken, crab rangoons, and a California roll add cream cheese. The lo mein and crab rangoons lacked flavor, and the combination fried rice was a tad bit salty. But the orange chicken was decent & the sushi roll was huge! It's worth a try.. but I'm not sure if I'd return due to the portions&flavors/prices.“
“The sushi was very fresh tasted amazing I ordered a total of 3 rolls. The mango cha cha roll, the royals dragon roll and the baked salmon roll! It was amazing!! I also ordered the crab Rangoon and the chicken gyoza.i initially ordered the miso soup it was not for me but everything else was exceptional. I was seated with chopsticks but no utensils for my daughters as well as no straw. I also did have to search for a different server because mine was so busy. But other than the service the food was definitely up to par.“
“Food was amazing, waitress and cook were so welcoming, and environment was cozy. Bathroom was small but very clean. Went during happy hour to grab half off sake and cheap very delicious appetizers. Need to get crab ragoon. Sashimi combo and salmon poke melted in my mouth, tasted heavenly. Octopus was a bit harder to chew; although I have Braces, it may still not be the best option for anyone with sensitive gums. They would benefit from better promoting their store from the outside. Was not even sure if I was entering the correct entrance. Sign needs to be much larger with more eye-grabbing attraction from the outside.“
“We were waited on promptly but not bothered. When I needed something it took seconds, just a polite smile every once in awhile as I looked up to see my food being prepared. The food is nowhere near as good as in the Northwest. But here in central US, about as good as it gets.“
“Because I work just a couple of blocks away from Sayachi, I have picked up lunch from here a few times when I want some Japanese food. They have some pretty good lunch specials. I really love their karage fried chicken- it's so crispy and delicious. I have also had the bento box with fish- it comes with rice, miso soup, cucumber salad, and a sushi roll (I got the California roll). I wouldn't recommend the grilled fish- I think it was just a frozen tilapia filet, and on the pricier side. I have never been here for happy hour, but it looks like they have some good HH specials too. All in all, I'll probably be back here again sometime!“
“Service is great, very sweet staff, the prices are good, the food is wonderful! The only part of our meal we didn't care for were the noodles, but everything else was delicious. My mother had dessert and said it was very good as well. It's worth stopping in for lunch or “
“Lovely gentleman named Nathan took me to this place as a first meeting. This man is my bsf's boyfriend so this was a big deal. Overall food was great and the experience was a vibe. Had good conversation and so far has my blessing. 10/10 would try again.“
“This is my favorite sushi spots in the entire KC area. I am allergic to shellfish and finding sushi that I can eat that has no shellfish included in it can be a challenge. This place offers a variety of non-shellfish and shellfish rolls. Everything I have had is always delicious! The service can be slow, but it is a family owned restaurant and they take time to make sure the food is good quality. It’s always worth the wait in my opinion!“
“It's a very peaceful and chill sushi house. The seating is unique as well as the atmosphere, and the service personnel are always patient and accommodating. The food is always delicious, I usually go for the Sunday morning specialty sushi, but I recently ordered the bulgogi, and it was so yummy!10/10??“
“The sushi is good. They charge by plate and man, can those plates add up. Expect to spend more than you might expect. Or maybe not. Maybe you aren't a greedy little sushi hog like I am. Honestly tho, it's worth it and I don't think overpriced at all. We spent under $100 for the three of us.We went midweek late afternoon to avoid heavy crowds. They do have an app in store that allows you to place yourself on a wait list so that you can do other things beside standing in line. Due to our timing, we were sat right away.It was disappointing to be sat at, what I imagine is, the end of the conveyor belt. The offerings are limited and sparse where we were sat. They make up for it by allowing you to order at the table and I have to say that the made to order was quicker than I expected!I ordered a diet coke ($3.50) and it arrived by robot (very cute!), but it was only 3/4 full. That wouldn't bother me, but you can't order refills at all. You have to purchase another drink.Another minor complaint is that the sushi rice sticks to the plate. A small, but mildly annoying thing.I will definitely go back tho. The quality of the fish is good. The only thing I'd stay away from is the crab leg sushi. The crab is real, but it's watery from being defrosted. It neither smells, tastes, or feels fresh. The rest though? Pretty darn good.I'd fully give another star for service if it wasn't for the drinks issue. Maybe that is good 'ol USA entitlement, but I really wanted more diet coke. For free.Oh! Checking out was easy too. You can use the QR code and pay by phone or you can pay thru a server. They had only one for the whole place and she hosted and sat everyone, so she was super busy. Aside from being sat, you don't need a server tho if you are paying electronically. All ordering was super easy.If you are an old like me, don't forget your glasses! The ordering screen is kinda tiny and hard to read. Speaking of which, bring some hand wipes. Everyone touches that thing (including me) with their sushi fingers. ?“
“Little hole in the wall. But 4 of us with meals appetizers and drinks for 125. We all had doggie bags. Everyone got shrimp even if we didn't order it. Everyone got noodles, rice veggies and the protein. Salad, soup.. never have I ever gotten my monies worth like I did at this place. Then we had a birthday and got Free cheese cake!!! First time there, and it won't be our last!!! Thank you. Our chef was fun too, tossing the shrimp in the air!“
“Not horrible. Great for hungry kids.Very little for vegan. No tofu or tofu dishes. 2 dishes with just veg, mushroom and green beans. There was a chow me in dish with no egg or mean.Did not try what looked like a stir fry bar so there is always that if there is a next time.It was very reasonable, less than $70 with tip for 2 adults and 2 children. 6yr old fell in love with the sushi.“
“My family has been going to this place for almost ten years now. The building has changed over that time, and so have their offerings, but they are consistently a B+ Chinese dine-in option. I don't do take-out, so I assume the same but a little worse. What prompted me to finally write a review is their latest offering. They have a new dessert item, sweet flavored rangoons. I've never been a big rangoon fan during the savory portion of the meal, but these are a scrumptious alternative to fortune cookies.Do yourself a favor and stop in to try these sweet rangoons hot and fresh. We liked all four varieties for different reasons. Also don't sleep on their tofu. The country style and general tso are both delicious and crispy.“
“This was my first time trying Kata Nori and I loved it! It's very limited seating so definitely make a reservation. The staff was very helpful in explaining how everything works and making recommendations. The hand rolls were definitely my favorite - we tried most of them and really enjoyed. Will definitely be back!“
