“We try to eat at 1866 at least once a week. Last night the food was excellent! I'd never ordered the Chef Salad before, so last night I tried it! It was AMAZING! The salad includes many things I usually don't have ready or on-hand at home. I had enough dressing and my husband even said it looked good! He had the fried fish and said it was excellent too! The wait staff was great! Thank you!“

“It's a very small place but the food and service are excellent! The salsa tastes like it's freshly made. If you have never eaten there, I suggest you try it. You won't be disappointed! The staff are very friendly and take good care of you! I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Kansas! I will be making a special detour just to eat there.“

“First time ever eating here since I don’t live out this way but needed food while at work and omg! The food was ready within 10 min. Like they said it would be, they were super friendly , the environment seemed super kid friendly by all the goodies and candy at the front.The food was hot hot and so good. The portions were reasonable as it was take out. This is one hundred percent a new go to for me.Couldn’t wait to eat it before taking the photo!“

“Our son's name is KJ, so clearly we made a little drive to find out who KJ is and experience this pizzaria, and it was such a wonderful experience, small town local restaraunt which was clean, shared personal aspects of the owners life/family on the walls, and to top it all off yummy pizza down to some homemade ingrediants, bravo you all are doing a good job and we hope you continue to be prosporous!“

Little kids were screaming and hitting a balloon back and forth in the restaurant while the two separate moms did nothing about it. The hostess finally had to step in and act like the parent to ask the kids to quit being obnoxious“

“If you get an opportunity to visit this place, do it!!!! We had the 6 wine tasting for 7.00!!!! We tried 3 reds and 3 white. Very, very tasty. In fact, probably some of the best wine I've ever had. Ask for Erin and Mandy- you won't meet nicer people and they know their wine! Very knowledgeable!!! We sauntered out to the patio and engaged in conversation with other wine lovers. SO FUN! Browse their Merchandise inside too-fun and high end things at very reasonable prices. We ended up buying three bottles of our favorites and it didn't break the bank-very very affordable for what you're drinking. We will definitely be back, not even a question. It will happen. This is a well kept secret (for now).“

“My husband made patio reservations here for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing! We live an hour and half away and it was definitely worth the drive. I had the paella and my husband had the lamb that was on special and both dishes were great. I am not normally a fan of lamb but it was so yummy I would order it for myself. The dessert and cocktails were perfect and the staff was excellent.We haven't stopped raving about it since we were there. I highly recommend it and we will definitely make another trip to visit!“

“Got the daily special it was the Chicken Fried Chicken, it wasn't the best chicken fried chicken I have ever had, but it was decent, it could be better if the gravy wasn't between cold and warm - I like my gravy to be hotter, not burning my tongue but definitely not feeling like my plate sat and my gravy lost it warmness. I also thought that I would get a bigger portion of chicken fried chicken at that cost and I asked if it was a lunch portion and they said no. Fries and green beans were great. The nachos with beef was good my wife said, I tasted one and the nachos were a bit soggy, I like my nacho chips to be a little more crispy.The service was mediocre, I had to wait a little longer to get a refill and some extra napkins, but they were busy during lunch. Although they are busy here's a hint if you are a waiter or watress if you pass by a table even if it isn't yours and you see a person's drink near the edge of table and not full maybe ask if you need a refill. I tipped the girl 20% but probably should have tipped 10% for the service. I tipped her 20% because she was really nice, but if I were management I would definitely look into this issue. You have a lot of staff and someone could have noticed my drink not even half way full.Lastly I want to say the atmosphere is great, lots to look at in the bar and you have friendly staff but service and food should be your top priority as a restaurant owner. When either of those are lacking it could keep people from returning.I don't live close by this restaurant and live in Western Shawnee so venturing out to your restaurant is a little out of my way so hopefully my next visit (Yes I will return with my family) will be better. I only dinged one star each for food and service, hopefully next time I can give 5 stars across the board.“
