“My food tasted great and the service was friendly and prompt. I really like their salsa. The prices are very reasonable, too. I absolutely love the colorful decor and beautiful, bright murals throughout the space. They have have a place outside where bands set up and play. There was a band playing the night we ate here and we enjoyed it. Such a bright, happy vibe at this restaurant, and I will definitely be back.”

Slim Chickens has officially become my go-to spot for cheat day — except it barely feels like cheating because the food is just that fresh and high-quality. Sure, I load up on the calories (because how could you not?), but the ingredients are clean, the portions are generous, and I never walk away feeling gross or regretful.

Let’s talk sauce: their signature sauce, buffalo, and hot options are straight-up addictive. I could dunk pretty much anything in them and be happy — fries, tenders, napkins, whatever. And the mac and cheese? Easily some of the best in the area, and trust me, this town doesn’t play around when it comes to mac and cheese.

Service is always solid, food comes out hot, and I leave full and satisfied every time. If you haven’t tried Slim’s yet, you’re missing out. Cheat day or not, it hits every time.”

“Hi there! We tried to leave a review on the website, but it kept rerouting to another location. This is for the Rt. 60 Ashland, KY location. Our daughter loves Waffle House and we make a point of it to go once a week. Kay has been our server each time we’ve visited and we wanted to say that she is a shining light. She is friendly and kind to us and other customers. She has made a point of it to leave a beautiful, encouraging note on our ticket each time & I’ve observed her taking a moment to write other customers a kind note as well. I’ve attached a picture of said note. There is so much tearing down & negativity around us, and I believe that we rise by lifting others. Kay is a special example of this & the world could use more people like her. I hope someone in management or corporate sees this & acknowledges her in the best way. They have a nice coffee bar (which I didn’t utilize this visit), a well-stocked freezer case with treats to take home, and of course the main counter. I and my friend were greeted warmly by a worker who was both knowledgeable and personable. She was patient and helped guide me into picking a perfect treat for myself. The frozen custard was delicious, and I love the wide variety of add-ins and toppings. Can’t wait for my next trip back to try…everything!”
