“My mother, my daughter and I attended the Princess Tea Party event and it was amazing. The atmosphere was full of laughter, excitement and shyness from the audience as everyone met those in character as prince and princesses. Before the train ride, there were multiple stations to entertain kids of all ages including a crown decoration station, a face painting station, a photo op station, the gift shop that had many princess accessories options and the bar that had themed alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for purchase.
The train ride was smooth as we rode through country and city. The tables were decorated like a tea party should with cups ready for tea and water. A 3 course meal was served: a charcuterie board and a lunch all before a dessert tower of treats to eat before getting off the train. During the whole train ride, there were 4 different princesses that greeted each of the attendees, posing for photos and having a personalized conversation with each person. It was truly magical. I foresee us going again soon.
My only regret was that the lunch special was not as exciting as I was hoping it was going to be, but the experience we had with the lovely staff and the princesses helped compensate the lack of flavor in the food, which was none of the workers’ fault. (I had to put into consideration that the train ride itself was maybe an hour and a half maximum so crazy fancy meals were not going to be expected.)
Will recommend for others! We hope to try the Polar Express train experience soon.
Parking: We got there early enough to get close parking, but the whole parking lot wasn’t large to where you would be walking a long time to the door. Parking seemed a little close together, but if you’re considerate about space, you won’t hit other cars getting out.
Kid-friendliness: There is a gift shop available for all kids to look at souvenirs while adults look for souvenirs too. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for you to gain access to the train depot building where there is hardwood floor inside.“
“I did the 10:45 Bottled in Bond tour. I had a great time and learned a lot about the ageing process of bourbon. Abby was an excellent guide! she was very kind, knowledgeable, and patient. The gift shop and entire facility is very clean and well maintained. Will come back to try other experiences.“

“Never been to Bardstown before, but suggested to eat here for lunch at one of the shops. I'm so glad we did! The inside is cozy with cute decor and a beautiful emarld couch at the table near the door. The service was fast and the food was out quickly. We ate the lunch special, and it was delicious! We did have to ask for a refill on our drinks, but I was impressed with small town Cafe. We will most certainly be back for more. ?“
“We had an amazing time doing a tasting!! Nikki was so friendly!! She made it a great experience for us!!“
“This review covers both the bourbon company and the restaurant from the point of view of a first time visitor. However, this is the 19th distillery my husband and I have visited, so we are not new to bourbon.
When you pull into the parking lot, it’s obvious this is a modern distillery. The grounds are well manicured and the glass front rickhouse draws visitors’ attention. We were greeted promptly when we entered and visited the gift shop to purchase a lapel pin as is tradition for us in every distillery we visit. The clerk never stopped talking to her coworker or looked at us while we completed the purchase. There is a tasting bar near the entrance where they sell half ounce pours. We took advantage of getting a flight of 3 collaboration pours and it was well worth the $25 as each bottle represented retails for $150 or more.
Thankfully, the Core Four tour was a great experience. The tour starts with the tasting which is different from other distilleries. We sampled Bardstown 4 origin products before visiting other areas. The tour requires the use of stairs and one room we visited was 109 degrees but we were only there a few minutes. Our tour guide Amber was very knowledgeable and did a great job. The tour ended with thieving from an experimental barrel which was a nice surprise and had wonderful flavor. Our guide compared the thieved tasting to Green River full proof.
After the tour, we decided to stay for lunch. Buyer Beware - if you want to sample a pour, get it from the bar near the entrance. In the restaurant, you get a much larger pour for 4x the price. My husband got a smashed burger and fries and I got a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. The food was very good and the fries were similar to fair fries and delicious, but these meals were overpriced for what they were.
We ended up purchasing the Stave Finish bourbon, which is a distillery only bottle. We enjoyed the afternoon at Bardstown and overall recommend you stop here during your visit to the Bourbon Trail. Cheers!“

“A hidden treasure in Bardstown! Amazing dining experience. Our waiter Jeremiah delivered a superb dining experience. Everything was delicious, from the salad to side dishes, steak you can cut with a butter knife! A must to eat at when in the area. All staff is very friendly and attentive!“
“We ate at the Old Talbot Tavern restaurant on a Sunday night in June. The customers were a mix of tourists and locals. We had burgers which were very good and cocktails. Both were good, but not change your life good. Drinks were small but appropriately priced. We would go back but maybe not my first choice.“

“Our meal came out, and the southwest egg rolls were undercooked. Our server took them back right away and had new ones made for us. Then, the floor supervisor came to our table and apologized and adjusted our bill for us. Everyone was super nice. I would definitely go back.“

“Most memorable experience from our trip to Kentucky. All the liquid was amazing, tour was informational, but our guide Mary was the star of the show! Took us on such a fun tour, so knowledgeable, and genuinely made our day hanging with her for that hour+. Highly recommend“
