“Gerber's Family Restaurant exceeded my expectations! I went with my parents after church on a Sunday. We were seated right away. And drink orders were taken in less than five minutes. Bonus, they served Pepsi products. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and a small salad, which was served with garlic bread. The sauce was great! I know it was cooked for a long time as the green peppers did not give me heat burn. And the portion was huge. Way more than I could eat for lunch. The salad was also bigger than I expected. The garlic bread was soft, just the way I like it. I tasted my Mom's fried fish, which was hot and yummy! And the green beans were soft, which was perfect to me. My Dad's liver and onions looked good if that's your cup of tea. He said the meat was tender. My Mom and I shared the homemade blackberry cobbler topped with ice cream. Deeeeeeliscious! I highly recommend this dessert. If you like country home cooking, this is this spot to try!“
“The picture below is of Happy Roberts It was the railroad Express and ticket agent with the NMW railroad for a short time he was the director of this end of the DTNI railroad. He was my grandfather He was there when the depot opened for service and there when it closed. So if you here somebody laughing and or smell the cigar or chewing tobacco it's a little hat of Christian Brothers Brandy that's my grandfather still looking over the depot. So if you're visiting the depot as you walk through the door turn right and where there used to be another door say hi to my grandfather and look at the memory The memorabilia. Enjoy the fantastic food and libations as occasionally a freight or cold train will go by.“
“The server that was supposed have been our server ignored us for 20 min. The other server came and took our drink and dinner order, because she seen we were getting ready to leave. The other serve complained we were suppose have been her table. She told her we were going to leave. She took the server that waited on us behind the wall and began to loudly complaine obout the situation.(we could hear plainly) Our server was very polite and apologized numerous times. She was very sweet. Positive side really liked our new server and the food was good.“

Some specials to try are the Ram horns which are freshly made creamhorns. Another special is the pizza. They make themselves and is fantastic on the weekends. “This little place is a hidden gem. In the backwoods of Eastern, KY you can't get much more "down home" than this place. Atmosphere is so relaxing and inviting. Toys for kids to play and a Pac-man machine for the older folks. Food was great and we were even offered an amazing looking donut they make fresh on the way out the door.
