Food was all delicious. Got a combo with chicken. As seen in photos we absolutely devoured it. Also they were accommodating of a beef intolerance. It was my first time eating Ethiopian food and it was excellent
My family loves Ethiopian food and look for restaurants when we go to big cities. Their food was flavorful, delicious, comforting, and cooked very well. The service was friendly and the owner talked to us several times. We tried both the vegetarian and meat platter for two, as well as the sambuca. So many yummy tastes and the injeera was perfect. Come check this place out!
Fantastic food and the service was great! We got the lentil sambusas, chicken tibs, and a veggie platter. Everything was so flavorful. Our favorites were the red lentils and split peas.

Based on reviews, Abyssinia Authentic Ethiopian Cuisine is an absolutely fantastic locally owned restaurant in downtown Louisville. The food is delicious, with generous portions and incredible flavor. Meals like the lentil sambusas, lamb alicha, and awaze chicken tibs are served family style with a salad, lentils, potato, and a heaping helping of injera. The mild dishes are just spicy enough. The service is very friendly and fast, with a super friendly host and wonderful server. The husband and wife ownership team provides lovely service. The food price is good, and the food tastes yummy. Great for groups needing vegetarian or vegan options, the restaurant easily serves large parties. Highly recommended for a great meal.
