Went right at open. Grabbed the veggie lunch special and WOW! Flavors were out of this world and lots of yummy left overs for later
Absolutely delicious food, at a great price, and served by a very friendly gentleman in a bright and very clean space. We tried the meat sampler, mushroom tibs plate (mild) , and an order of lentil sambusa. I recommend all of the items we ordered.... the sides were all amazing as were the main items. We left beyond stuffed!

Based on reviews, Abyssinia Authentic Ethiopian Cuisine is an absolutely fantastic locally owned restaurant in downtown Louisville. The food is delicious, with generous portions and incredible flavor. Meals like the lentil sambusas, lamb alicha, and awaze chicken tibs are served family style with a salad, lentils, potato, and a heaping helping of injera. The mild dishes are just spicy enough. The service is very friendly and fast, with a super friendly host and wonderful server. The husband and wife ownership team provides lovely service. The food price is good, and the food tastes yummy. Great for groups needing vegetarian or vegan options, the restaurant easily serves large parties. Highly recommended for a great meal.
