Dairy Del Reviews
Ice cream is so good! And an amazing selection of items
All kids working there and they have no clue about how to communicate to a customer. We would go there 3x a week but after tonight will never return.
Firat of all, I do NOT recommend, I don't why it says I do! I've visited Dairy Del many times in the past and have noticed that the quality has greatly diminished the past couple years. I believe the hype is because they're only 1 of 2 places in the neighborhood that serves soft serve and everybody looks forward to them opening for the year. But after tonight, I will never go back. Dairy Del is a local ice cream shop known for its soft serve, hard scoop, and flurry options. The soft serve and flurries are described as "ok," while the hard scoop ice cream is also considered decent. Visitors enjoy the friendly service, but the music inside is not to everyone's taste. Overall, many reviews suggest a "meh" experience with the ice cream quality, which has reportedly diminished over the years. Some specific complaints include the banana split with "mini scoops" and a lack of syrups, as well as issues with the Heath flurry's ratio and mixing. Despite this, the ice cream remains popular, with long lines and drive-thru service appreciated. The parking spots are plentiful, and the strawberry ice cream and chocolate shake are highlighted as particularly good.
One recent visitor praised the Chocolate dipped soft serve ice cream cone as "FIRE," and enjoyed the carefully prepared chili dogs with toasted buns, noting the service as very kind and friendly. The shop has an old school vibe with 60s and 70s music, creating a joyful atmosphere. Another customer mentioned that portions are larger than expected and considered the shop a great local Louisville institution. The soft serve side cream is highly recommended, and visiting Dairy Del is well worth the effort.
