“China Cafe in Mount Washington is a solid choice when you’re craving Chinese food and want a good amount of food for your money. I’ve been here a few times, and overall I’ve had a good experience.

The portions are definitely one of the highlights. You get a generous amount of food, and it’s easy to have enough left over for another meal. The food is usually hot, fresh, and comes out pretty quickly, which is especially nice when you’re picking up an order and don’t want to wait around forever.

The menu has a good variety of the usual Chinese favorites, and there are several things that are worth trying. The General Tso’s chicken, sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, crab rangoon, and fried rice are all popular choices. The crab rangoon in particular is a nice appetizer to add to an order. The flavors are good overall, although I wouldn’t say every dish is outstanding. Some dishes are better than others depending on what you order.

The service has generally been friendly and efficient. This is more of a casual, no-frills place than somewhere you go for a fancy dining experience, but that’s not really what you’re coming for. You’re coming for a filling meal, reasonable portions, and something you can get fairly quickly.

The building and atmosphere could use a little updating, and that’s probably the biggest reason I’d stop short of giving it five stars. It’s not the type of restaurant where you’re going for the atmosphere. That said, the food and service make up for some of that.

Overall, China Cafe is a good local option for Chinese food in Mount Washington. The portions are generous, the food is generally hot and tasty, and the service is quick and friendly. There are a few things that could be improved, but I’d definitely come back when I’m in the mood for Chinese food. Four stars from me.“

“I go here at least once every week or every other week. The fried rice is the BEST and I will ONLY eat from this Chinese restaurant. The people that work there are very nice and I love the 2 ladies that work there. All I do is call to place a to go order, give them my name, and they automatically know who I am and what I get is how often I go here 😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂. “This has been our favorite chinese restaurant for many years. They hace the BEST crab rangoon around! However, recently we have been getting served the wrong food. Which is extremely annoying. My husband has an allergy to some meats, so when we order one thing and get a different meat in our order, that is both concerning, & frustrating. I greatly hope that this stops and never happens again. But with this being the second time In a row that it has happened to us, my expectations of this actually being fixed isn't high.“

“Happy Dragon is the best Chinese food I have found in Louisville. I have to travel around the city often for work, and I'm always excited when my work brings me to Taylorsville Road, since I know it means I'll get to have some great food. Try out the Bourbon chicken, bamboo chicken, or ask for an extra spicy combo lo mein, you won't regret it. The only bad thing about this restaurant is it makes all the places near my side of town taste so bad in comparison. Seriously, I've tried bourbon chicken at a dozen places in Louisville, and no where else can even come close.“

“Upon entering, it smelled like cleaning products but it wasn’t that bad as once your in, you get used to the smell. Fried chicken wings were not that good. Pepper steak and sesame chicken combination platters with pork fried rice was so flavorful and good for a Chinese spot. The pork eggrolls were fine too.“
