“Egg rolls- fresh, deliciousSpring rolls- fresh, deliciousSesame balls- fresh, deliciousMapo tofu with fried rice- fresh, delicious. I expected the mapo tofu to be spicier since it's supposed to have a lot of peppers as the basis of the dish. It has almost no initial bite of spiciness. I can only feel whatever spiciness is there as a lingering but pleasant warm tingle around the mouth and lips in between bites of food. Not what I was expecting, but still flavorful and delicious. Would like to try the real deal sometime.“
“My companies goto place for great Chinese food.Lunch specials are filling and well priced.Bento Boxes are packed with food.Food is made quickly, I can order and leave to go pick it up and it is usually ready.Best lo mein I have had, very flavorful and soaks up the sauces from entrees.Vegetarian options: tofu entrees, veggie stir fry, veggie spring roles, salad with ginger dressing.“
“We tried China Coast before 2020, and it was very good. Small location, take-out only, and delivery. At some point, we'd heard a rumor they had closed. Finally confirmed they were indeed open for business, so we ordered. Ordered General's Chicken and S&S Shrimp. Got an extra egg roll as well. While the bill was $23, the portions were large, and more than we could finish. Everything was hot fresh and very good. Called the order in on the way home work, thought I'd gotten there way early, but they were finishing up as I walked in. We will definitely order from them again!!“
“I don’t normally leave reviews, but in this case I feel I need to. This is the best Chinese food I’ve had since I’ve been in Louisville! Food is great and everyone is so nice! Thank you so much for the great customer service and the food is absolutely amazing!“
“Nice looking restaurant and decor. Waitress was friendly and provided good service. The wonton soup was hot and tasty. It was just a tad bit over salted. I ordered the Moo Goo Shrimp. It was a nicely flavored entree. This is a nice restaurant for a nice quiet to meal.“
“Cute little Chinese place. Good was definitely fresh and delicious. It comes with fried rice with nothing added.I ate in but was disappointed that I still got my meal in a to go container with plastic flatware. There only atmosphere was a large, loud, big screen TV sitting on one of the tables. All in all, I would do takeout again but not ready in.“
“Definitely the best Nepali food you can get in all of Kentucky. I live in Lexington- and my friends and I travel all the way to Louisville every week just for some food from Chamling! Their must haves: Chili momo, Jhol momo, Pork Sekuwa, and Chowmein. Also, the owners are just as amazing as their food!“
“Wonderful establishment that was a perfect selection for our dining group of 8 on a Wednesday evening. Service was fantastic starting with happy hour at the bar and continued as we migrated to our dining table and throughout the evening. The vegetable spring roll was a great selection as an appetizer and was tightly packed with crisp tender cabbage, carrot, and spices and wrapper was just-right and crunchy. This was accompanied with the pomegranate cocktail, which tended toward being sweet and just shy of syrupy. Choice of entree was mahi mahi on a bed of vegetables and vermicelli noodles in a nicely spicy heat curry sauce. Bowls of white, brown, and fried rice were brought to the table and very welcomed to take advantage of the sauce. The property has ample and easy parking located off of Lexington Road near Grinstead Drive. The restaurant is open and airy and noise level was mild, which was wonderful for our dinner conversation. Happy to return and to recommend based on the quality and value.“
“The food is great and always made to order. But what I loved the most was what I saw on their wall. They cater to Feeding the Homeless. If you're hungry and broke, they have pre-paid meal tickets hanging on the wall for ANYONE TO USE. When I was there they had a ticket posted up for a FREE order of Chicken Fried Rice. Thought that was Super Cool!! ?Parking: Located in the same shopping plaza as White Elephant so the parking lot is huge.Kid-friendliness: Kids menuWheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking ♿️ and small speed bumps in the lot for safety.“
“This is a great little restaurant ! They have a hot braised chicken dish, that you can't find anywhere. I ate this same dish at a place for decades, that is no longer open. To say I had high hopes for it, is a an understatement. I was not disappointed. The Lo mein was also spectacular. The service was quick and polite. My wife and I drive 20 minutes to try this place and I'll definitely be back !Highly recommend“
“The best Chinese food around for the price. Combo plates range from 7 to 11 dollars depending on which combinations you choose. As far as portion sizes go that really depends on who is serving you. I have went there and received very large portions in every meal and I have went there and felt like they could have added more. Either way it's still a good amount of food for what they charge and the quality is always on point.Parking: It's at the Jefferson mall so there's lots of parking“
“***UPDATE*** 1-21-2024After moving to Elizabethtown and back again. The food here is still better than anything they had there. The crab rangoon is still the best I've ever had, with plenty of crab flavor. The prices are hard to beat. One thing, the chicken fried rice did have a little too much oil flavor..like old oil.(unless its a spice im not placing).not a fan. Egg Foo young was delicious and chicken on a stick.I live right down the street from this place. I take my children there all the time. The food is delicious, and always fresh! They cook to order, its not something thats been sitting around back there forever. There is no buffet, so i have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about. Its always clean, and so are the restrooms(who cares what they look like as long as they are clean). The crab rangoon is fantastic! If you want great chinese food in the southend this is the place to go!“
“This was our favorite "shitty" Chinese. It is not shitty at all. The pieces of pork in the fried rice take it to the next level. Service was quick even though the restaurant was super busy. We were able to talk to another patron that has been coming here for 40+ years. That kind of loyalty is amazing. I get it though. The egg roll was hot, crispy, and delicious. Even after a 15 minute drive home. We ordered general tsos and it was delicious as expected. I'm excited to return to taste the spicier dishes. Highly recommend!“
“The food is Great! The food is Great because they cook the order as it comes in, So it is not as fast as other fast food pick up's. Still they do have a drive through. It is worth the extra 5 minutes for this food.Kid-friendliness: They are very nice here!“
“My favorite Chinese spot. I've gotten Mongolian beef, pepper chicken (my fav!!), sesame chicken and avocado roll. I love their food! It's a smooth 30 minute drive from my house but I go about every 2 months if not more. I usually order with plain white rice. I also like the crab Rangoon! I want to try some of their tofu next. I think it's a great spot. I usually get uber eats of it if I'm not feeling up to the drive.“
“Nice little Chinese restaurant downtown. Their food is great and the employees are friendly. They usually have your order ready in ten minutes or less. They keep it clean. My favorite Chinese restaurant downtown. The pork fried rice I ordered there today was delicious.Parking: Their parking area is in the rear of the building. There is plenty of parking back there.Wheelchair accessibility: They have wheel chair accessibility in the parking lot and the entrance. You will probably need someone to hold the door open for you when you go in. I went in there on crutches one time. I had a little trouble with the door.“
“This is easily one of the best Chinese buffets in town. Huge selection, plus a sushi/hibachi section and it's constantly refreshed with hot and fresh food. Love their jalapeño chicken! They have some really juicy, ripe, fresh fruit too. Also, you can't beat the price. Even at dinner, you can pay less than $20 per person and eat to your heart's content. One of my favorite food spots in Louisville.“
“Small selection, but they have enough options for everyone. The noodles and pepper steak were okay, didn't taste very fresh, but everything else was great. I really like the green beans, I recommend them with dumplings. Dessert section is very limited, only puddings, sugar cookie. Banana pudding was pretty good. Service was great, the waiter was very attentive, and refilled drinks often. Ambiance is okay, it has old, authentic Chinese decor, but nothing special. Restaurant is very clean, including bathrooms. Dining room is very quiet, with dim lighting. Overall great food, good service, and great value. At the time of this review, the price is $13.50 pp, for all you can eat, which is a good value compared to other buffets.“
“Hot and Sour soup is full of plump fresh vegetables but lacked some of the flavor I'm used to getting in the soup. Will definitely be there again to try to see if it was a one time thing. Chicken in garlic sauce was one of the better that I have experienced!“
“I love Thai food and have been to many good Thai places across the country throughout my travels. I don't know how much I can speak to authenticity, but I know what my tongue and palette like . At Simply Thai, I got the chicken pineapple fried rice and chicken kaow soi, both spice level 3 (out of 5). I liked the pineapple fried rice. It was very good and came in a pineapple which was cool. Portion size was decent too. The kaow soi was alright. The curry was quite watery and the noodles were wheat noodles. This kept it from really picking up the tastes of the curry, which made it a little blander than I would have liked. Simply Thai is always busy, but the servers are very nice and attentive despite the busyness. It's got a lot of seating, but once again is always busy, so you have to go early to beat the rush! They do, however, usually have extra seating available at the bar even if you don't order a drink, as long as you're over 21. The restaurant has a great environment with a lot of cultural decorations that spice up the place. All in all, Simply Thai is simply a good place to go for some good Thai food, as long as you don't mind a wait!“
“I am a regular customer at China Star located next to Kroger supermarket at North Hubbards Lane. The restaurant is run by a friendly and warm husband and wife team. The food is tasty and economically priced. My family and I wish them the very best.“
“Great Wall has been offering the best fast Chinese food in the area for years. Since covid, there is no longer seating offered for dine in...but they ensure your food will still be hot when you get home. They will likely be busy, but it's worth waiting for; just plan ahead!“
“I've been going eating here for over 15yrs. Food is amazing, Price is consistent and fair and speed for fresh food ?? They remember me when I come and is always sweet. Open good times too! -Green HairDietary restrictions: The alter for you!“
“It's a hole-in-the-wall. Like many other places similar to it. The food really isn't terrible it's actually just what you would expect it to be. Decent. The employees are nice. The parking is minimal and the area is complex to get in and out “
“Man this place is so underrated- the looks are deceiving with this joint, Tony I belive owner and main guy worker always smiling and super positive- and this man can COOK. Never fails with portions he is fast and consistent and he is an amazing cook.highly recommend to give this place a try .Parking: Pretty safe, have never had a problem“
“Its always the simple looking Chinese food places that are the best. Some previous reviewer said this is the best Chinese restaurant on Preston... it really is. I been avoiding the place because it is so small and unassuming. I called in an order for pepper steak, sesame chicken, and lo mein. For real the best lo mein Ive had in a while. Everything was so tasty. I look forward to ordering again.“
“They had an A rating on the glass window and other than a table that needed cleaning up, it was fine from all I could see; bathroom included. Had the mixed vegetables in brown sauce with white rice and really enjoyed it.The vegetables were served in their own container with a top in it to keep hot. The rice was on a Styrofoam place of its own.Unfortunately, when we each ordered water, we weren't initially told they had no machine or tap water as their soft drink dispenser was broken. We paid for bottled water. He was nice enough to let me have a second bottle as I drink a lot of H2O these days. Would definitely go back if in the area.Parking: Shopping center lot so lots of it available.“
“Everything we've ordered here has been delicous. Bourbon chicken is 10/10, sauce is so good. Hot braised chicken is made just they made it at that great little Chinese takeout place on Broadway back in the 80s-90s. Oriental Star still has the big eggrolls. Seems like all of the restaurants serve teeny-tiny eggrolls with a stingy amount of cabbage. Call in your order and it's ready in about 15mins. Lunch special is two meals for me. Egg foo yung lunch special is three meals! Restaurant is tidy but we always get takeout. Never had a wrong order in 10+ years. ❤️❤️❤️ Love this restaurant!❤️❤️❤️“
“I absolutely adore this place. I come often to get their crab rangoon, but occasionally I get something else. Regardless of what I get, the food is top-notch. The service is amazing, everyone is very friendly, and the aesthetic is lovely. 10/10.“
“I love the ease of ordering it online. You have the option to pay at the store. The food is always ready by the time I get there. It is a large portion of food. Usually 2 meals for me. If you get a combination meal you get an entree, fried rice, an eggroll, and a canned drink all for the one price. It is definitely a take out place. No seating to speak of really. The food is very good. My favorite is the chicken with mixed vegetable combo.“
“My dining experience there at PF Chang's was a very pleasant and exciting event for me being the first time dining there I have passed this restaurant up several times saying that I was going to visit finally I embarked on a dining experience that I enjoyed very much keep up the good work looking forward to coming back and dine again“
“This is definitely an above average buffet. Fresh, hot, good quality food. Sushi is great! Neat, clean restaurant, clean, fresh restrooms, and friendly, always smiling staff.Overall, I think this is, by far, the best buffet I've been to!Kid-friendliness: We came there with 4 children, the restaurant staff was very accommodating, the kids left very satisfied, as well as us, the parents ?“
“Not really a big Chinese person! But they really got my attention with couple of great dinners an made me a fan! Service an hospitality were great...! Cost was comparable to other food services but was impressed with servings were really over the top! Had enough two days to enjoy!!!#?? two thumbs up! Keep up great service! Recommend highly an hope you enjoy same service!“
“Me and my fiance played a little game. She swore there was a better Chinese restaurant. We chose 3 other restaurants with 4 stars on Google and ordered generals General Tsos chicken combos from each. We picked them all up and put them in an insulated bag. I called 10 minutes before arriving at each. Each one made me wait 5 minutes or more after I arrived EXCEPT Chong Garden. They was ready when I arrived. As far as prices they were all comparable but Chong Gardens container was a microwavable plastic one containing more food than the others. When we got home we did a blind taste test. We rated each restaurants fried rice, egg roll, and chicken on a scale from 1-10. Chong garden scored the highest from all of them. 2 of them was completely disgusting and tastes“
“This restaurant is fairly close to our house, so we order for pick up a few times a month and it’s always super hot & fresh and delicious. My favorite items so far are the Mongolian Beef, Beef and Broccoli , Sweet-and-Sour Chicken, House Lo Mein, Egg rolls…and of course Crab Rangoon! They also have a good soups! The family that runs this restaurant seem very kind and are always helpful and gracious!“
“First, the restaurant is pleasantly decorated, counter service and both the owners are super friendly. They have eight tables. We ordered two dishes, dined in; 1) Singapore Mei Fen or 星州米粉 deserves great mark, I have been to Singapore multiple times and had this numerous times, it's remarkably close. 2) Hunan Triple, very taste and has a mild sauce, I'm sure they can spiced it up for you, this dish won't disappoint you. We also had hot Chinese jasmine tea, they actually use loose leaf tea, not tea bags! Perfect for the dishes. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Monday, busy with carry outs orders. 3 tables were occupied. I would dine in again next time, your dishes will be better right off the wok. Very clean restrooms. From outside, inside, service, people, this is a 5-STARS.“
“We've been several times for take away. Most of the time it's good. Fast service. We had bourbon chicken during one of our recent visits that had really dry chicken. The next time it was ordered, it was fine. Just a bit hit or miss.“
“Best take out Chinese in Louisville. The food is always served fresh, hot and fast. The portions are huge! There are several other Chinese takeout places closer to my house but I will drive the extra miles to get food from Oriental Cafe. The hibachi chicken is my favorite.Just updating to say that this is still my favorite place to go for Chinese takeout. The owners there are so sweet and friendlyOver the past 7 years I have discovered many new favorite dishes, that I honestly can’t pick just one. I don’t think there is probably anything on the menu that doesn’t taste great. The delivery drivers are always friendly and fast when they bring food to my place of employment. They recently have started doing catering and the office I work in has used it. Even with the all the large portions of entrees, lomein noodles, fried rice an appetizers, the food was hot, fresh and amazing, and arrived right at the time we asked for it to be. The delivery driver that brought all of the food was very friendly and helpful. And I love that I can also order from DoorDash to have it delivered to my home.“
