“Hubby and I celebrated a recent move to town with a bottle of wine (a Spanish red blend), which was lovely for $25. We shared the Bourbon Sriracha wings. They could have been my most favorite wings ever.We also shared the ribeye steak and a house salad with "warm bacon vinegar" dressing. The steak was perfectly charred- go figure! The char added a wonderful flavor. The salad was awesome. I would recommend all 3 dishes and the wine. Our server (Josh, I think) was great. The restaurant looks new and has fun decor. We sat at a high top at the bar.“

“We went here for a roller derby after party. I really like how the speaker was only in one place so if you didn't want it to be too loud you could sit somewhere else. Also it had variations in lighting so you could sit at a brighter spot if you didn't want to be in the dark. As someone who does not particularly care for bars this was a great feature“

Birdies and barrels Bar • $
201 E Mt Vernon St, Somerset

“My wife and I dropped in last Friday evening for a glass of wine (which was a little pricey). We didn't order food. I thought the place was clean, cozy, and inviting. The bathroom was very clean. The bartender was polite and informative. I liked the atmosphere. I'd suggest a gas fireplace or even an electric one over by the sofas under where the TVs are mounted. I think they are still working to establish an identity. The name is Barrels and Birdies. Barrels might be a Bourbon reference and Birdies seem to be a golfing reference. On the door it says "cigar" tavern A guy came in and seemed to be obsessing over some dying plants in the windows. That needs work. My wife said the place smelled like someone was vaping. I really didn't notice any bad smells...The building spectacular and I think they need to think hard about the name of the business...create a solid identity that links to the community...or something that makes people curious...Be a Bourbon and wine bar (this is my vote), or a Golfer's hangout...or a Cigar Tavern...but make it clear and stick with it.“
