“As a fellow restaurant, owner, out of state and many miles away, there is so much that I appreciate about our visit to Solomon‘s Porch. Friendly staff, excellent food, great atmosphere. And we had the opportunity to meet the owners, Tim and Erin, and could see in that short visit time, that their love for their community in which they have immersed themselves, is the driving force behind why they do business there. They live the people in Wilmore, just like we do in our own little café, Downtown D’Lites, in Kilgore, Texas! Our experience with lunch yesterday and then breakfast today, and even meeting my brother Dave, who is also on a road trip from Oklahoma, was a great stop on the way to our New Jersey destination!“

“We really enjoy eating at here when we’re at the lake. Whether it’s their delicious breakfast buffet or a delicious and peaceful dinner, we’re always leave happy :) definitely worth a stop and then a stroll around the grounds after filling your tummy!

The catfish platter was generous and super tasty, as was the fried chicken, fried oysters, green salad, and the taste of Kentucky sampler. Followed by lemon Shaker pie and peach crisp ala mode for dessert. Adults and kids were more than satisfied!“

“These folks at Banners are top tier! Played a little pop up gig there last night on my way through and was treated unbelievably well considering I was just some musician they’d never heard of. The servers are friendly and accommodating, and the locals who hang out here are a FUN bunch who sang a long to all the songs they knew, and even got down on some ORIGINAL music! “I go to Roosters often; I have great times there, from the good food to the great atmosphere. The wooden booths, quirky signs, and numerous TVs make it a great place for people to relax and have a good time. A good way to pass the time while I’m waiting for my food is to watch a football game or play the occasional trivia they have on sometimes. On my last visit, I came with my friend and boyfriend, and we had a great time eating a variety of food and being served by an excellent waiter who was friendly and efficient. When it comes to our food, Roosters never goes wrong with their curly fries and boneless wings. The wings were perfectly crisp, and the hot sauce is always top tier. The atmosphere is what brings it all together, from groups to families and friends to people just sitting at the bar. It is always cheerful and full of life every time I come here. I would say that Roosters delivers a perfect balance of good food and fun, and it's always a pleasure to go, so I plan to keep coming back many times after.“

After Saturday’s commencement, we wanted to celebrate. My mom and her fiancé were so impressed with Sedona Taphouse from the previous evening, that they treated us to an early dinner along with some drinks there. It was amazing from the appetizers to the drinks to the entrees. Our server was a delight, but we also had the pleasure of meeting the GM, Ben as he came over to not only check on us, but to shake my son’s hand and personally congratulate him on his achievement. He really made a big deal about his accomplishment and even went as far to pay for his meal, drinks and dessert. So unexpected! Ben went above & beyond and that food and atmosphere was outstanding. “My dad and i went to get a nacho kit. As soon as we walked in, there was no kind of greeting so I initiated one. Then comes the order. It's like no one knew what we were talking about. After a few minutes they figured it out. A young man that seemed to be the manager on shift had a horrible attitude, not personable and is just not where he needs to be serving people if that is how his attitude is. We got extra meat. He was sure to tell us it would be extra which is common sense. We knew it would be. He was sure to ask the sweet girl at the register if we paid for the extra. We all 3 said yes and he tore the receipt off the machine and checked it twice. I understand some people are like that to not pay for what they order, but to be treated that way after spending what we did there was absolutely ridiculous. I was embarrassed to even be there. The food was good, we enjoyed it. So for that I'll give 5 stars. Shame on the young man for being so rude. You need a new job.“

“Everything at Honeywoood is done with such beautiful intentionality, like all of a Ouita Michel’s creations. It is no accident that you feel surrounded by Kentucky history, agriculture and the arts when you enter any of her establishments. The food is no exception. While she could not possibly be in all restaurants at the same time, she selects the best team members to represent her vision and values. We loved every part of our experience at Honeywood. Food: creamy grits and polenta, slow cooked greens, risotto, local beef and quail, fresh seasonal vegetables, crispy country ham, deviled eggs stuffed with lump crab???? AND those damn sweet potato beignets!!! Never disappoint. service is top notch, without all the fanfare of a fine dining restaurant. Wine list and craft cocktails are legit. Anything goes and we felt comfortable in fancy duds and blue jeans with a T-shirt (which you can purchase in any of her places as well as her cookbook). “I treated myself to lunch at Storming Crab today after receiving good news during a doctor’s visit today. I normally go to the other seafood boil restaurant, but since I was on this side of town, I thought I’d give it a try. I’m very glad I did! The food and service are excellent. Vivianne was my server and she took wonderful care of me. The food was very good, hot and fresh, and not overcooked or rubbery (snow crab and head off shrimp). The crab legs were a good size and the shrimp were huge. I chose crab house Cajun flavor and spice level hot, which really isn’t that hot - it’s just pleasantly spicy & flavorful. The complimentary seafood bread was also delicious. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Storming Crab. The only criticism I have is the appearance of the parking lot makes the restaurant seem rundown (weeds and trash), but the inside is fine and clean.“

“First things first: Cheng’s is a wonderful restaurant with a gig-delivery OR customer pick up model and no seating for diners. We prefer to pick ours up which gives us a couple of minutes to enjoy the fragrances wafting out of their kitchen. The food is well prepared, fresh, and well packaged for the drive home. The counter service is polite and efficient. The parking is easy (they also have a drive-through pick up window). If you go pick up a paper menu to make ordering easier the second time. FYI, the five stars for atmosphere is because the waiting area is comfortable, clean and smells delicious.“

I’ve been going to Ichiban for a long time, and there have been some times in the past when it seemed like the quality wasn’t there, BUT I went TODAY and the buffet was BEAUTIFUL. Everything I put in my mouth was cooked perfectly.

The place has been around a long time, so don’t expect decor to be perfect, but it is clean and has good food.“
