Wow, we were taken by surprise by the exceptionally high-quality cooking offered at the King Bar & Bistro. We split the house special, “Red Fish Pontchartrain,” and it was so intensely flavorful and artfully presented we could immediately tell the chef learned his trade in New Orleans. We splurged on another house special for dessert, the “White Chocolate Bread Pudding,” and were again amazed by the quality of the dish, a perfect balance of pillowy caramel and subtle sweetness....read full review
Enjoyed breakfast twice during my work stay at Hotel Indigo. Food was reasonably priced and tasted great!! The window tables with clean white table cloths were perfect for doing a bit of work on my laptop while also eating. The natural light was wonderful. Service was great, the chef and hostess both checked on me to make sure!
This is my the first time to be here, Barton Rouge, Louisiana. Then you shall ask me, "have you experienced with any local Louisiana cuisine"?. I shall present very strong Yes, because of here.
In the middle of Barton Rouge has huge Mississippi River. So it is famouse with all the fish- based dishes. But, there is another root, "French style". The [King Bar & Bistro] is exactly the place.

The interior design is impressive and the local flavor added to each dish will make you want to return the very next day. Must-try items include Chef Trish's potato creation and Chef Philippe's Wild Boar Gumbo. The restaurant, located at the basement floor of the Indigo Hotel, offers a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff. The steak, Ratatouille, and pasta dishes were described as epic and gorgeous. The restaurant recently underwent renovations and now serves a beautiful cheesecake and lemon cocktails. While the food and drinks received mixed reviews, the young lady bartender and server were praised for their friendliness and service. Overall, King Bar & Bistro offers a unique dining experience in Baton Rouge that is worth a visit.
