“I’m moving far away from this city and will probably never return, but yet I feel inclined to leave a review of this place because it’s THAT good. This will be the one place I will always miss, as it is the best food I had in Lafayette or anywhere else I ate at in my 2 years of living in LA (beats any Cajun, hamburgers Mexican, Italian, etc that I had here).

My husband had the pork tacos, and he couldn’t stop raving about how delicious they were. We also ordered the house margaritas. The chips and salsa were a great start to the meal, really fresh and full of flavor.

What truly made the experience even better was our server. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. “I've been following El Hidalguense Mexican Restaurant for a while now. And decided today I wasn't going to Lafayette again without trying it. I had the Enchilada Mixta con Cecina and my wife had the Birria Tacos. Amazing food! I have a hard time describing how delicious our meals were. But, we're definitely going back! The owner was so friendly, checking on us making sure we were enjoying our food. Our server was very helpful picking out our food since it was our first visit. “I have a very busy 4 year old adhd/autistic daughter And had been travelling for hours.
I was the only one in the restaurant and because my daughter is very busy doesn't communicate well. I don't bring her in a lot of places But because it was empty I thought It would be ok..
Everyone Was nice and I let the front desk Workers know that she doesn't sit still very much. And then I would put her in the corner where she wouldn't bother anyone...
Someone They're with the ability to Control the noise (radio) I can only assume had some kind of knowledge of children that are not "normal"..
Someone turned the radio down and My daughter seemed to settle a bit more..
