“Restaurant was about a mile from our hotel on St Charles. We should have made a reservation for a Saturday night (even though we ate on the later side). We ended up having to do first come first serve at the bar which was awkward as there wasn't really any place to sit and wait, especially as we had to box out others for our turn at the bar seats. However, once we were settled, the service was fairly quick and the food was good. The pasta especially was done well with just the right amount of heat on the rigatoni for me. I think they must make the pasta as it was also very fresh. I did find the lack of bread odd though. We split dessert, which was something we hadn't tried before, but it was good as well.“

“If you like the Italian Barrel, do yourself a favor and stop in around the corner to the “Little Barrel”. It’s their smaller, casual place specializing in small bites, pizza, specialty sandwiches and pasta. We placed an order for our Mardi Gras party, and the owner Sam was the best! Here’s what 25 pizzas, 9 sandwiches and 4 dozen hot tamales look like - To Go! The pizzas were delicious Roman style with fresh shaved meats. We ordered: Prosciutto and marscapone Speck & Brie Pepperoni and Italian Sausage Cheese and fresh arugula The sandwiches are made with their homemade focaccia bread! We had The Verona, Speck and Brie and Bresaola and arugula. Everything was well packaged delicious!“

“After getting into town late and checking into my hotel(Hampton Inn directly behind the restaurant), I realized how hungry I was. It was relatively late for dinner but I checked out Ditali's menu, saw that they were still open and decided to order the Calzone. I ordered online without any issues. Maaann....was I in for surprise. One of the legit best meals I've had in a long time! The portions are huge and the marinara was excellent! The staff were very friendly and were very helpful when I picked up! I will most certainly be recommending and dining with Ditali's again!“

“We are forever customers! Not only is the food amazing and the staff top notch, East of Italy goes out of their way to accommodate guest. We wanted to book a party and they went above and beyond to make it happen. Our son’s celebration was everything and more. We haven’t had a meal we didn’t like. “Ample parking. Clean. I chose to have gumbo. It wasn't as thick as seafood, okra gumbos I have had in the past. It was good, though. The other people with me had lasagna and more traditional Italian dishes. All were very pleased with the food“
