“So this was my first time trying anyyyyy crawfish in St.Landry parish. I will start with the pros. PROs: friendly staff, decent price, decent size for the early season( ofc they will be smaller this early in the season) good flavor & fresh/hot crawfish. Now for my CONs: I had a few crawfish that had grey meat… I’m not sure if they were dead prior to being boiled, but I didn’t want to take a chance & eat it, that good flavor I mentioned in the pros… well it wasn’t in all of the crawfish, the ones that were missing that good ole flavor were pretty bland, out of the 3lbs I tried I would have to say 20% wasn’t seasoned. My last con is that a few of them that I ate still taste a little muddy in my opinion, it kind of ruin my overall experience b/c I would be eating them back to back & then suck the body of one that taste so dirty. Overall I would recommend this place, I would give it a solid 7/10.“

“Their crawfish are the best tasting- seasoned inside and out perfectly. The crawfish are huge but not hard to peel. Their boiled shrimp are large and are also seasoned perfectly. Their prices are good and the staff is friendly.“

“We had the Eggplant Atchafalaya starter and it was outstanding. My burger was a bit greasy. My husband tried fried oysters that were very good but the veggies didn’t taste like they were freshly prepared. Our server was very kind and prompt with her service.“

“Looked for a sit down crawfish boiler between Ville Platte and Lafayette that was boiling for lunch on a Saturday. Cankton Cafe was one of the few sit down places open and boiling. The place was easy to find with plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the crawfish seasoning and quality was above average. Definitely a small town restaurant worth taking a detour for.“
