“The food was amazing! Especially the fried fish poboy which is what I had! Our waitress was new but she made it very clear that she was new and kept apologizing when we asked a question that she didn’t know. However, she didn’t say “ I don’t know” and left it at that. She would say “I’m so sorry I’m not sure but I will go find out” so that is impressive! Will Fontenot sounded great on the piano also! Will definitely be back.“

I came here for the first time because Lumber Jacks (another eatery I wanted to try seemed to have been closed for good).

I saw chicken and sausage gumbo on their menu, but they ran out.

I tried the shrimp stew. It came with corn and potato salad. It was good.

We also tried the fried catfish (2 pieces), and I really enjoyed the piece I tasted.

If you are ever on Moss St. and looking for a plate lunch, the Lunch Box might fill the void.“

I have eaten here since I can remember, before I was able to drive and pick food up myself. It’s a ‘pick up only’ location,
as of typing this review, the area is safe by far. It’s Lafayette. In fact, the north side has more police presence, police stations, and fire trucks than anywhere else in the city. you’d have bad luck here get a headlight citation before anything else on this end, again, it’s pick up only location.. they’re cooking, taking orders chilling and family oriented, not the bubbly experience of a dine-in restaurants. The aesthetics of the area outside isn’t Tier A gorgeous It’s a pass-by location in general. Not much to see here but a handful of houses down s pierce st, some industrial/factory building, and cars flying by.

That said, the fried food is the best in town.

I recommend the chicken tenders. 5pc two sauce 10pc has 4. There’s some charge for extra sauce.

The honey mustard sauce is great as well. Whenever I mention this place to friends, the tenders are always a win.“

I smelled the spice as soon as I walked in, I ordered crawfish, snow crab legs and blue crabs. We went with the mild seasoning (I smelled the spice and my baby is NY born soooo…) anyway… the taste was amazing, very flavorful and not too spicy… Spiced enough to have your nose running but not overbearing. It was cooked to order, still hot after 30mins plus and the lady brought the pans to us (which she didn’t have to do, but I thought when she said 20mins that I’d give them 30mins before going in). Great meal!!! Would definitely go again!!! Just in town for the football tournament but I’d take another weekend drive to get some more.“

“My food came out cold. I had the BBQ brisket. Sides were; potato salad, baked beans, rice dressing and a roll. I didn't receive my roll, rice dressing and brisket were cold. I mean cold like sat out of the heat for 15 minutes. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and it wasn't overly busy. Waitress tried, but first didn't bring plates for shareables, didn't bring utensils for meals, never got my BBQ sauce, and that was on her. I understand the food coming out was the kitchen not her, but the rest was. I got tap water for my drink and the bill listed my drink as 2.99 when we complained she reduced it to 89 cents. For tap water.
An apology wasn't offered, no assurance of our food coming. My brother in laws food came when others were finishing. It was a mess. I really doubt I'll be returning. It was a disappointment. It was only our second time eating there. The first time service was just as bad. It's a shame. A lil town like cankton needs these mom and pop places. But poor customer service has no excuses.“
