“Very friendly service and the wait staff is very tentative, checked on me frequently and never let a glass go empty. I went during March madness and the atmosphere was simply amazing, definitely very lively. The food was simply amazing and fresh, I will definitely go back if I’m ever in the Baton Rouge area.“
“I came here for a quick lunch and the service was amazing and sufficient. My waitress Shelby was really nice and helped me narrow down my food choice. I even ended up getting dessert. I will be coming back and asking to sit in Shelby’s section“
“I'll be there and the food was actually really good cuz I'm allergic to onions and they have never messed up my food by putting onions in it or anything the fact I think they don't even put onions in anything they made I would recommend “
“I have never been so full in my life! I needed to try some cuisine from Louisiana: gumbo, seafood étouffée, and jambalaya! So today, after reading some great reviews here on Yelp, I decided to go to Pot & Paddle. The girls that work there were very helpful! In addition to gumbo (no rice), I wanted to try the red beans (no rice), white beans (no rice), and coleslaw. So one of the girls recommended that I get the red bean dinner, as it comes with two sides, and to also get a container of gumbo to go. It was way more food than I actually wanted or needed, I was trying to just get small sides of each thing. But that's okay! It made for a great lunch and then a nice dinner later on! The red beans are absolutely addictive! Just thinking about them now while typing this, and my mouth is watering! The gumbo, white beans, and coleslaw are all equally delicious and definitely worth coming here to order! But there is something about those red beans that make me want to eat there everyday... yummy! The restaurant is clean, modern, and very bright and open. They have a little condiments table with packets of Louisiana hot sauce (two different brands), spices, salt, pepper, etc. I made sure to try both of the hot sauce packets and the spice packet. However, the food here doesn't need it. You know how some places NEED the extra help to liven up the food? Not here, it's already scrumptious!“
“Easily the best salmon I've ever eaten. the server (I can't remember his name but he was a history teacher primarily) was amazing and very engaging with us. he even had no problem going back and forth between the kitchen and our table to ensure my dairy-free girlfriend could still have something delicious. truly a restaurant worth returning to if you are in the area.“
“Extremely rude workers. They delete comments if they don't like the review. We had a party of 10 and waited like they asked then they tried to seat us at a table for 6 people. Five people would be piled on top of each other on a booth. asked to add a table ( there were 3 empty tables right by us) they said no but we could wait an additional hour for a table. asked for manager and a girl comes out saying she is manager. No apologies no nothing. We did call ahead and were told no same day reservations but they had a big enough table to accommodate us. I have been reading reviews and there are a ton similar to our experience. It's starting to seem they do not want to accommodate large parties and try to make the experience so unbearable that they eventually leave. We ALWAYS tip over 25 percent even when service sucks. Their loss!!“
“Oh man, this is place is dangerous. Best seafood I've ever had, not just in Louisiana, but in my entire life. Freshness is one thing but that flavor cannot be beat. We went with our server's recommendations of the various daily specials and each entree knocked it out of the park. I genuinely cannot understand how something can be this good. A real gem in Baton Rouge. We contemplated coming back a second time during our very short trip because we feared nothing would live up to it- obviously untrue, such amazing food all around in the South - but an absolute must for anyone visiting the area.“
“Delicious fresh food. We had the gumbo and potato salad and it was the bomb. It was full of chunks of chicken and sausage and the tater salad was greatIt's a family business and the people were super friendly. If you're craving a reasonably priced bowl of delicious after your Costco run, these guys are the ticket.“
“first I love cracklins...but somehow the ones I get from Ronnie's have been very hard..like under the lights too long... next...as much as I love chicken cracklins...to be driving down the Interstate and see feathers on your next bite of cracklins really turns the stomach. makes me wonder if I had already ingested feathers from the previous ones I had eaten..“
“Ate here this week. I had the Appetizer Trio: mozzarella sticks, rocket shrimp with a spicy aioli and crawfish beignets. It was delicious. I could not eat all of it. Friend had the Turkey and Bacon jam panini. Also very tasty. I had never had Bacon Jam. It could become a fave.“
“Fresh seafood to make your own meals, great cooked seafood on weekdays only...try their fried catfish and shrimp platters. They have great boiled crawfish in season, as well as all the extras like boiled potatoes and mushrooms.Just go by there and see what they have. You can definitely find seafood for any kind of meal.“
“This was the first time my husband and I visited this establishment. The staff was extremely friendly. We ordered tamales, boudin balls, and fish and shrimp plates. We have absolutely no complaints about the food. We are looking forward to returning and trying other food.“
“Mason's has great burgers, local flavor, and wonderful "Bloody Mason's". Their Sunday Brunch is awesome, but crowded. Get there early!Update 3/26/24 - new owners are still doing a great job. Try the banging shrimp burger!“
“Very nice people! Julie wanted jambalaya right when she woke up! We waited till they were open and I headed over. It's clean and bright! Walk up to the counter and order, not a big menu they have daily specials and I'm going on a Wednesday to try the hamburger steak! I had a nice conversation with the lady taking orders and my order came out fast! I tried the bread pudding and it's really good!! We will be back for sure!!!“
“Wonderful drive through po-boy diner with many options! We got the shrimp burger with fries, family fries, sweet biscuits, crab Rangoon and fish poboy. The portions are large so this was enough for lunch and dinner for two.Kid-friendliness: My 2 year old loved the fries!“
“Fresh Gambino's bread!!!!!My husband and I stopped in at Bourre Seafood Market in Walker. This Roast beef po-boy was amazing. The thing is huge and full of flavor. The picture is only half of the actual po-boy. We also had the daily special, fried catfish and it was amazing also. The customer service is phenomenal and the food!! Y'all check them out!!!“
“I've been here a total of 3 times, and Bayou Affect doesn't disappoint! Tonight I'm having lamb chops for the 1st time. At first bite I'm mad I hadn't tried them sooner! These chops are now the standard for my life!“
“The Rouge Rabbit is a nice little hole in the wall over on United Plaza Blvd. I'm pretty sure it's very popular with all of the workers in the nearby office buildings! I had been meaning to go there based on seeing previous Yelp reviews and finally made it by.There's plenty of parking in the surface lots surrounding the eatery. The one I stopped at had a two hour limit, which is plenty for a meal. The place has outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. It also appears to have a busy take out business. The lunch menu is varied, with salads, wraps, sandwiches, and even more substantial offerings, including pizzas. There's also a breakfast menu that looked good, but I wasn't there at that time of day. There's also a range of coffee beverages for the caffeinated crowd.I had a Grilled Chicken Club that included Applewood Smoked Bacon and was on some great bread. One thing I really liked about the menu was one could order a selection of side items, including Cajun Potato Salad, chips, and my selection, Cajun Dirty Rice! One can make a combo with a side and a drink for a nice price. Now that I'm familiar with this hidden jem, I'll certainly go back when I'm in the area. I'm interested in their Po-Boys and the Applewood Smoked BLT!“
“Not restaurant quality ambiance but if you want your go to seafood boil this is the place. From pig feet, turkey necks (whole), shrimp with jalapeños, crab legs, crayfish and more! You choose your crab legs in the freezer then they cook them seasoned in about 12min.“
“We live in Alaska, but visit family in Denham Springs and Watson area. We never fail to stop by when in the area. Deer burritos, boudin balls and almost everything else is delicious. Don't forget about the cracklings. Fly into New Orleans on the fourth of next month and will be stopping in for good food.“
