“Went for the first time today, definitely won't be the last. Yes, it's a hole-in-the-wall dive bar. Yes, they smoke in here and there are cigarettes in the vending machine. It might be cash only too (my friend treated me to lunch today). If any of that bothers you- GO SOME PLACE ELSE because the boiled everything on Thursdays is WORTH IT. Turkey necks, neck bones, pig feet, smoked sausage, corn & potatoes was what they had today- all served in a styrofoam go-box in case you can't finish. Slap-ya-momma good food here. Can't really find a menu posted anywhere- it's a word-of-mouth place. I went for lunch but it gets crowded at night.

“We had our holiday party here and it was absolutely amazing!! Starting with the frozen margaritas, through the chips, salsa, queso and table side fresh guacamole and onto the tacos, quesadillas and burritos the food was delicious and authentic. Of course a great dining experience includes both food and service and just like the food the service was top notch. The staff truly made it a wonderful experience. Before we left we were already planning a return visit!”

“Having moved into the Gretna area for a job in Port Sulphur, it took some time to find a place serving Mexican food that was similar to what was back home in Houston.
Service was usually very good. And when I was in a rush, I couldn't always count on their To Go Orders to be ready on time...

Good food, good service, and they recently got their liquor license sorted out for those who would like a cold drink.

I'd recommend this place to those coming in from out if town. You will notice a change in the taste of the food at other locations while this place taste more like home..”

“This ham did not live up to my expectations. I followed the instructions on reheating and made sure to apply the topping on the slices. It's good but I was expecting more. However still one of the better hams I have served to my family so I give it 4 stars. If I were asked where it could be improved I would suggest they somehow have the glaze in between the slices. Or give extra glaze to bring home with purchase of ham.”

“I’m not sure why this place gets a bad rap. They are just like any other Chinese restaurant in the city, pretty good food pretty good service. They don’t have the largest menu options that I’ve ever seen, but they’re pretty standard for your average Chinese buffet in the city. Every now and then the crawfish can be a little mushy or overcooked, but that’s probably my only complaint. You go here fairly often and I’ve never had a problem. The staff especially are super kind.”

The first time the line was out the door, the 2nd time I arrived 10 minutes after they had opened, and 3rd I had to wait for the glazed beignets and it's was worth it. This is a bakery and the goal is to get you your order. The customer service is task oriented.”

“This is the best snowball place in my opinion.. my favorite thing on the menu is the crawfish nachos .. her crawfish is always clean and the sauce that comes with the crawfish is top notch .. it’s very good with a spicy kick to it but not over powering .. and instead of using them corn round chips that everyone be using for nachos she using some regular Doritos shape tortilla chips and I feel like makes it better then a regular nacho .. and the snowballs are nice and soft with a little crunch and thats personally how I like my snow balls I hate when it just melts in your mouth .. the hot dogs is good like a regular hot dog but just with nacho cheese and it’s always hot and warm .. I wish I took pics but I didn’t .. the only thing I wish is that she gets a little more creative with the snowballs like ( add fruits or candy or even cheesecake on top and have a more variety of ice cream like cookies and cream or even a cookies and cream milkshake) and it will be top notch !”

Debbie was the sweetest and most honest and told me she’d let me know the next day if they could accommodate my order. “4 Stars - Tasty Lunch and Convenient Service

I stopped by The Real Pie Man for lunch and had a really solid experience. I ordered the smothered okra and fried catfish, along with a medium-sized seafood gumbo. Everything was freshly made and overall pretty tasty.

The smothered okra and catfish were of good quality—maybe a little more seasoning would have suited my taste, but that's just a personal preference. The seafood gumbo was also quite good and had a nice flavor, though again, a bit more seasoning would have made it perfect for me.

We did a to-go order, and by the time my husband arrived to pick it up, it was ready right on time—no waiting needed, which was super convenient for our busy workday.

Overall, I'd say it was a pretty good lunch spot and worth a visit!”

Wife got what she ordered and I got a drumstick 🍗 and a back, completely opposite of what I ordered. Upon going back to the register the manager asked what was wrong and I explained what was wrong and said immediately corrected the problem. Kudos to the manager. The young man that took out order was wearing dark sunglasses 😎 while he took out order and afterwards he took them off. Food was hot 🥵 and tasty.”
