“Stumbled on this gem of a place in the French quarter. Really good craft cocktails and I can't stop thinking about the food. We had the beets and squash app, and gnocchi and chicken entrees. So amazingly good I can't wait to come back to NOLA for this place. Go! You won't regret it!“
“We stumbled into Iacovone and for a moment thought we had come into the wrong place. The restaurant is a hole in a wall that looks so decrepit from the outside, only the "Open" sign convinced me that it was actually a working restaurant. Then, when you walk in, there were two small plastic tables with a few plastic chairs. So it's then a little jarring at the counter to look at the menu of the day and see serious food for prices that are extremely reasonable for serious food (but still more than you have ever paid in a place that has a bit of an eating in a Subway feel to it). But don't let that dissuade you. Because this is indeed incredible food at very reasonable prices, and the advantage of being in a tiny hole in the wall is that you almost can't help but chat with the Chef/Owner/Sole Employee who has a great story to tell about his journey through the food world and his love for New Orleans. Iacovone was the last restaurant we visited on a three week vacation across multiple countries where we ate incredibly well. It was a fitting last stop. Make sure to give it a try on your next visit to the Crescent City.“
“New lunch spot aquired! Long-ish review... i live on the northshore but work on the soutshore... we have many good sushi places on the northshore but my favorite has won best sushi on the northshore for 3 years striaght. Point being, Ive been to many sushi places that have had good sushi and bad sushi... i was optimistic with Mizu and was not let down.. first time in just a few minutes ago and i ordered togo (playboy roll.) The place was clean as well as organized (for its smaller size).. order did not take long at all and it was absolutely delicious... temperature of the food was great.. consistancy was nice and the flavor was there! Will definitely be back for more“
“This place is absolutely incredible. The food was spectacular and peanut butter protein smoothie was the best I’ve ever had. The staff is so incredibly kind. I also bought the juices from the fridge, I drank the Pina-kaleada one today and it was amazing. I got the chicken grain salad bowl and that was also to die for. 10000000% recommend“
“This is one of our favorite places uptown in Nola. Especially for the fried oysters ?, they’re the best. It is easy to order a selection of small plates. One of these times I want to get the whole fried fish…someday.I’d advise getting reservations, they can be full on the weekends.Delicious food, great cocktails and friendly service. It’s an uptown treasure.“
“Dietary restrictions: Prior to discussing the evening's offerings the wait staff inquires about dietary restrictions and makes sure to flag any issues a dish may have and either asks if ingredient substitutes would be acceptable or steers a customer away from that dish.Kid-friendliness: Chef was very accommodating of our four year old and offered several off-menu, kid friendly options that were well received.“
“AMAZINGGGGGGG food! I had breakfast here all weekend during Mardi Gras & they did not disappoint. The crawfish omelette & the steak, egg & cheese biscuit was so delicious. The potatoes were fried to perfection. The servers were great & it was a wonderful dine-in experience.“
“What a wonderful dining experience! My Little Princess and I dined on duck gumbo, raw oysters, crawfish meatball, Mediterranean catch, fried oyster platter, onion rings, and lobster mac and cheese. The food was excellent as were the old fashioneds.Service by Collin was attentive as well. A short drive from downtown, but the better location and worth the drive. Go early, or deal with a wait and parking issues.Don't miss this wonderful restaurant!“
“Voodoo rolls and chargrilled oysters are a must. The fried shrimp were as good as i've ever had. The French bread for the Poboy was *not* good at all. Chewy, not fresh. The portions were generous. Very good place, but get some damn good French bread.“
“I can't explain the happiness my belly felt leaving this place. I have no words only love love loved Everythinggggg.. the service was on point, the food made me hum as I was eating.?? the drinks was perfect. Grits melt in your mouth. You hardly ever get grits melting..omg.. I'm going back this “
“Just a great night out. To start, we had boudin balls, shrimp wraps with remoulade, and mushroom toast. All were excellent. Entrees were "baked potato gnocchi" and red snapper Keep in mind they seem to have a number of cocktails and specials that are not on the printed menus (a la the red snapper). Both entrees were excellent. The gnocchi were light and fluffy and my snapper was perfectly cooked and spiced with something that reminded me of the middle east spice "baharat". We'll be back for sure. Forgot to mention, they have good draft beers that are also not seen on the menus.“
“Small, clean restaurant with outdoor seating looking over Carrollton. I had lumpia, which was my first experience with this dish. It was delicious, with beef and veggies, lightly fried. I also had the chirashi sushi. I look forward to having some more of the Indonesian dishes when I return. The highlight was the chef and hostess/waitress; both were super friendly, accommodating, and provided great service. Locals and college students should show a little love to this affordable, tasty, and convenient restaurant!“
“Great pizza with an amazing selection of toppings, including crawfish (my favorite). Great selections of specialty pizzas or buld you own. My wife is vegan and they also have excellent vegan options. Located conveniently on the St Charles streetcar line in the Lower Garden District. Also has a small bar. Easy to order carryout online.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetable options. Good vegan cheese. Great cauliflower crust.“
“A family tradition for forever. I’ve spent many Saturday and Sundays having breakfast/brunch here. You can’t go wrong with the Crab Cake Benedict or Crawfish Etoufee omelette. Truth be told, anything here is delicious. If there’s a line, don’t bail. It’s worth the wait. And if you’re solo, ask if there’s seating at the bar!“
“Hummus appetizer wasn’t the greatest. It was bland and didn’t get very much bread. The gyro platter was really good. The service was good depending on who you got to serve you. I saw others getting immaculate service. I was jealous. Really interesting wall art. Overall I would give them another shot because the food was really good.“
“This place is a Gem!! If you are a local or visiting New Orleans don’t second guess! Delicious food and wonderful Customer Service plus lots of vegan options. Overall experience 100%. I enjoyed the orka stew & Egusi fufu. Not pictured vegetable rolls and meat pies demolished them ? I’m a local and can’t wait to return??. Delivery options a plus!!!“
“This was my first time at Miss River, and it definitely set the tone for me to return! I treated my friend his birthday, and everyone acknowledged him and his special day. From being greeted by the hostess, the vibrant live music, to the professional attention from Aaron, we enjoyed every moment of our brunch! The food was a feast for the eyes and stomach! We had the deviled eggs, fried chicken, and pain perdu. I look forward to returning for dinner and trying other menu items.“
“I found Botanicals NOLA through a Google Maps search for health food when I was having crazy medical issues. Their sea moss has saved me! The food is vegan, healthy, and delicious! After two days in a row of their sea moss smoothies, my energy bounced back as never before! Cheaper than my doctor’s copay to boot. Their chickpea sandwich, avocado toast, and peanut butter toast are healthy and filling. Their ginger shots are packed with ginger! I recommend washing it down with their sea moss lemonade. Idk why people said the staff were rude or slow. I have been coming here over a year and never had this issue (it must’ve been resolved). I had my 2 smoothies and toast in under 8 min with another customer’s order ahead of me. Atmosphere is great, stylish, sunny, welcoming, and clean/selfie-worthy bathroom. Highly recommend!!“
“The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, especially on a beautiful day. Their Kee Mao is the best I’ve ever had. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. The desserts are awesome too! Great place to get a meal with friends.Vegetarian options: Most anything can be modified to be vegetarian.“
“The appetizers were a delight! We sampled a bunch, and I'd recommend the boudin spring rolls for sure. The menu could use an update since they don't offer a couple of items that are still listed, but the staff was friendly and patient to explain what they no longer had available. The atmosphere is a bit lackluster, but it's Metairie so I get it. We placed a pick up order, so we were able to wait next door at a local bar; the staff was so nice that they offered to bring the food to us next door when it came out! I'm definitely calling more orders in for pick up in the future ?“
“I've been eating here since I was a toddler. I'm almost 30 now and the food has been consistently consistent for all those years. Never have I ever seen someone not like what they ordered. Unfortunately we moved due to the hurricane, but EVERYTIME we go back, Pizza Kitchen is always the staple of our visit.“
“It wasn’t close to where we stayed but so worth the drive. Best steak fries I’ve ever had. Pasta George was delicious so were the fried pork ribs. The shrimp wrap was very fresh & worth mentioning because it was topped with their homemade ranch dressing. One of the best wraps I’ve ever had. This place was great! Highly recommended :)“
“I love this place and have been several times now. The salsa is served warm and is addictive. The birria is on point and the aguachile is so refreshing. The mitcheladas are so good and gigantic with all the takin and chamoy you need. Have yet to be disappointed be this place. 10/10“
“Char-House is a hidden gem! The cozy atmosphere of this hole-in-the-wall restaurant creates the perfect backdrop for their mouthwatering char-broiled burgers. Each bite is a burst of flavor, with the perfect blend of juiciness and smokiness. The friendly staff and unique charm make Char-House a must-visit for burger enthusiasts seeking a delightful dining experience.“
“The best margaritas! Our margaritas were made fresh and muddled to perfection the raspberry margarita was made with fresh raspberries, no fake or sugary syrups. The table side guacamole was flavorful and the chips were hot! The quesadillas were perfectly portioned, everything came out fast and hot!“
“Cait was amazing! She let us know that the kitchen was working hard to get our food out, but that there would be a little bit of a wait. We had the blue crab dip, bbq shrimp and grits, and the whole stuffed flounder. The food was delicious and definitely worth the wait. You can tell that Cait really cares about the customer’s dining experience. Definitely going back next time I’m in town!!“
“I been to New York and had their pizza. This place is every bit as good as NY pizza. This visit, however, was off. Pizza was over cooked, making the crust too ridged; not to mention the cheese wasn’t stretchy. It won’t keep me from coming back, however. Italian salad simple but good as always.“
“I ordered a small thin crust of anchovies and onion. The ingredients were fresh. The pizza was delicious. Service was fast, friendly and efficient! The wait staff came over several times to see if we needed anything or drink refills. I'd definitely go again!“
“If you love pizza, you gotta come try this place out. Small homestyle local Gio’s is a family-run pizzeria that will redefine your pizza standards. We had a meat pizza in the shop and I took home a Magharitta pizza which my kid loved. We also tried their meatballs and they were bomb ?The pizza crust is thin and crunchy. Most pizzas run at a $20 fee for the same 8-slice pie. What makes or breaks a pizza for me? The crust and tomato sauce. Both here are amazing. The ambiance is homey, order at the counter and pay. The only catch is their operating hours. Make sure they are open when you wanna pop by.“
“I live pretty close by and probably get something here at least 2 to 3 times a month. I've loved everything I've had so far. Gyro, chicken shawarma, falafel and cauliflower plates and wraps, and the cauliflower salad. They make a thinner style pita fyi. Cauliflower plate is my favorite... never knew I could get addicted to cauliflower, but the way they prepare it is so good. I usually get rice with tzatziki or hummus, and these are some of the better I've had. The tzatziki is so rich and creamy.“
“Nice place! Arrived right at opening time, put my order in. They were willing to do my substitution request. Got to talk with the owner while I waited for my food. And the food was good: meaty red beans, moist cornbread, etc. I'd go back again.“
“La Boca is a one of a kind steak restaurant. The cuts are not super traditional for the local market but the preparation is superb. A flank steak so tender you can cut it with a fork and super flavorful. The service is very good and the decor is nice as well. Not a traditional steak restaurant, but a whole next level experience. Very, very good.Vegetarian options: Primarily a steak houseDietary restrictions: Staff will try to assist with any restrictions you make them aware ofParking: Lots of street parkingKid-friendliness: More an adult environmentWheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible“
“Had to create an account just to leave a good review on this place. Got the white beans and rice with cornbread and fried chicken and potato salad and the Mac n cheese as a side. I don’t ever remember being this satisfied after leaving a place in my life, I could not stop eating. The waitress/ hostess was awesome. Did not expect this place to be this good. Very clean place as well.“
“The waitress was amazing and her service was very sincere. We definitely enjoyed the food and very thankful the waitress could charge our phones. The coke fountain drink was terrible but the waitress allowed us to change it to root beer which was better but not the best. The parking was super weird and for new comers it’s quit confusing. Would recommend posting signs for the establishment so customers can know which areas are designated for dining.“
“In a city of butter, this was a welcome reprieve on a recent work trip to New Orleans. Many pre-curated salad offerings but completely customizable. You can make all the salads into wraps, switch up the proteins...Everything was fresh, and portions large. Excellent. Please look it up. It's in an office building in a little food court.“
“I met a friend for breakfast. It was good, however the eggs had onions in them and that was not disclosed on the menu (and I am not a fan). The bacon and the grits were good. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. The service was great. Very pleasant coffee shop.“
“This was my first time visiting. It has a great atmosphere with a bar section and dine-in section. I ordered to go.BBQ Chicken Calzone, Garlic Knots and Lemonade drink. The food was delicious ?The lemonade was okay. It wasn’t a homemade lemon flavored drink.Parking is ? with plenty spaces available.“
“Ate here twice in February 2024. Everything was extremely fresh and there was a great (~24?) options for dressing. Plenty of protein options. Was in the city on a work trip and the first time I stopped here for lunch they were out of Romaine but gave specific information about time for it being back (less than 5 minutes) and it was accurate. Went back another day and they recognized me and let me know immediately that romaine was ready to go and so were the mushrooms I asked for the last time.Only thing I would say is missing is a Greek style dressing both times I went, however they have over 20 options so it's not a big deal.Vegetarian options: It's a salad bar. Don't get the meat and you're good.Dietary restrictions: It's a salad bar with many options to choose from.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no design or access issues that a wheelchair user would have to overcome as far as getting in or seating goes. However, you may need to request staff support for building your salad bowl as the counter is at or above the average waistline of the an adult.“
“The pizza was very good. The service staff were nice. I would go here again but the drunks were not attractive and the fact that I was told 35 minutes for a pizza was a problem. We had a big ground and settled for the slices which were pricy.“
“El Gato in Lakeview has been my go to for years. It does, however, have some inconsistencies. The queso is wonderful, and I like the salsa. I generally eat the fajitas, or the cheese enchiladas which are usually very good. I have tried some entree items ( pork chop special, fish) and did not like them at all. The other day I strayed from the fajitas and ordered the single shrimp taco and a cheese enchilada. The taco was terrible with undercooked shrimp and overcooked flour tortilla. My biggest complaint and deterrent eating there is how untidy the restaurant gets. Crushed tortilla chips all over the floor and generally a mess which never gets swept up during service. Very unappetizing!“
“Went for a lunch special--2 slices of pizza, salad and beer or tea for $9.99. Great deal. Pizza slices were big thin crust with various toppings. Nice beer selection. Some IPAs and sours. We found something we liked. They also offered hero sandwiches, pizzas and other fare. Nice deck for warmer weather. Pizza was decent. I'm not a big fan of thin crust, but this was good, if a little greasy. We had a couple of flavored IPAs and the blond. All we're good. Will definitely return when we visit again.“
“We are from Texas and feel that we can say pretty confidently that we know and love Mexican food. We didn't expect that a local friend would suggest this place when we came and were down in Gretna for work but we did and man are we happy that we took their advice! The chips were fresh and the salsa was delicious. We ordered the queso that was the special and it was phenomenal. I got the stuffed avocado as my meal and ate it all, literally wiped my plate clean with tortillas it was so good...I've never done that before in a restaurant. My husband ordered the burrito and said it was great. For dessert we shared a tres leches and that was the only thing we felt could have been better. Overall the meal was delicious and beautifully plated, the restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere, and the staff was wonderful and welcoming.“
