“If I could give a 10 star rating, I would! The other day was my best friend's birthday. She & her significant other were having a late lunch at Cate Street Seafood Station, as that is one of her favorite spots. I live in Orlando, FL and couldn't be there. I called the restaurant and Silas answered. I told him I wanted to surprise my friend and send her a special dessert for her big day. He instantly seemed excited to help and was so kind. I described my friend to him and he said, I will look for her. He took my number so he could call me back for credit card info, once she chose her birthday dessert. He found her quick. Suddenly, I received a text from my friend who was so tickled. Once he served her dessert "Happy Endings," (he also included a candle), he then called me back and we took care of business. I wanted to add gratuity for his sweet hospitality, but he refused. I was speechless. He took no credit or reward. Quintessential hospitality! My friend called me later and said that made her day. Thank you, Silas, for helping create such a joyful moment for my beautiful friend. I hope I'll get there one day to meet you.“

“The breeze outside is beginning to feel like Fall to me, and my husband and I decided on Mike’s Seafood in Amite, LA for a little Gumbo and Shrimp & Corn Bisque for lunch. Of course, the Sunday church crowd had the dining room full, and we got on the waiting list for a table. The crowd moves in and out fast, so our wait time was only about 10 minutes or so. Our waitress Jennifer, sweet as apple pie was quick to the table to get our order in and kept our drink glass full. The menu has a variety of entrees with the specialty being fried, grilled seafood that includes shrimp, catfish, oysters, soups and salads and much more. The salad bar is my favorite. The lettuce is shredded just like I like it and there are plenty of toppings to build a delicious bowl of salad. This restaurant never disappoints and has plenty of options for your taste buds. It is a local “Go To” for seafood.

“First time dining at Off the Hook. Before entering, I was put off at first by the overflowing trash can just outside the main door, which is why I didn't give atmosphere five stars. The service at the counter was FANTASTIC. Joell greeted us with a smile and offered us service immediately. He also knew the menu well and made suggestions since it was our first time. We ordered our food, received a number tag, sat at a table in the dining room, and Joell delivered our food to our table, again with fantastic service and attitude. He again, later, asked how our food was and if there was anything else we needed. Service like this rarely, if ever, happens at a counter service restaurant! Oh, and, the shrimp poboy exceeded my expectations, and I'm kind of a snob with shrimp. The onion rings were crispy-tender, but a little too salty for me.“

“Our first trip there. The food was delicious. I had fried catfish with fried rice. It was cooked perfectly. My sister had fried shrimp with sweet potato fries. Again cooked to perfection. Whitney was our server. She was so attentive. We wanted oysters, but they were out until later today. The have fresh shucked oyster's. We definitely will get them next trip. The owner Miss Sara came an talked to us about our experience. They all made us feel like we were important to them. Some places make you feel like a bother. Not here. “PICKY EATER ALERT! so we ordered the shrimp/snow crab bag( came with corn, potato, sausage, boiled egg) and ordered it with sauces mixed. (Cajun, garlic butter,lemon pepper) OMG SOOOOOOOO GOOD. well seasoned, hot and prepared exactly the way I ordered. Hubby got the shrimp/fish basket, came with fries. crispy fries seasoned. fish and shrimp flavorful, hot and a good quantity. “Jeanie’s restaurant feels like a warm hug every time we go. It perfectly embodies southern hospitality and delicious soul food. I’m pregnant and had a craving for shrimp and grits yesterday, and even though it’s not on their menu, they didn’t hesitate to offer to make it for me.
