So happy we had the opportunity to visit Dakar on a recent trip to New Orleans. The staff is so kind and welcoming, they were very accommodating when part of our party was late due to a flight delay. The meal starts with table side hand washing, a traditional way to welcome guests to the home. Then onto smaller bites; palm oil buns, fried cassava with crab and a lovely tea topped with mint foam. Best dining experience I’ve had thus far. It’s truly a gathering of strangers connecting over great food & a welcoming atmosphere. The Chef is so personable and warm. And the food is AMAZING! I will be back.

The evening begins with a handwashing ritual and a cup of tea. With each course, Mbaye comes out of the kitchen and offers a story that often explores the joyous and tragic history of the African diaspora. Mbaye, a quiet perfectionist in the kitchen, also speaks through his food, and the quiet confidence of his cooking can leave diners in stunned silence.
