Respite Reviews
The food is always 10/10! Victoria is one of the best oyster shuckers in town, broken toe an all!
Stellar place… The wine was great. The vibes were right and the food was perfect… Don’t miss out on the zucchini… That was the secret killer… Can’t wait to go back and get everything else on the menu.
The eggplant Milanese is incredible !

Respite is a stellar place with great wine, perfect food, and right vibes. The zucchini is a secret killer. It is very possibly the best restaurant in New Orleans, a rare gem with a cozy but elegant atmosphere and outstanding food that feels like only a matter of time before it garners Michelin attention. The server was one of the two owners (the other is the chef), and an immense amount of passion and finesse has gone into making Respite truly exceptional. It is a triumph of a neighborhood restaurant with excellent food made with whatever is in season and at the farmers market at a very reasonable price, thoughtfully curated wines and beverages, and stellar vibes. This delightful neighborhood eatery serves oysters from the east coast on crushed ice along with a thoughtful menu of perfectly executed staples like steak frites, local fish, and seasonal produce in a stunning, cozy space with good vibes all around. The food tastes and looks incredible, including the red snapper and medley of beans and okra, the most visually appealing plate ever seen and delicious. It just felt good to be there. Respite is an unbelievable spot that lives up to its name sake, with unforgettable food and the best ingredients.
