“What an exceptional Japanese restaurant about 45 steps from the front door of the Marriott. I decided to sit at the bar and Chris and Jada were awesome people to enjoy the evening with. I tried the Agedashi Tofu and Bao Porkbelly Bun appetizers. Both were very good. The star of the meal was the Bluefin Tuna Flight. Excellent, high-quality nigiri finished at Michelin-star precision. The 3 different levels of fat in the three tuna was such a unique experience. I also tried the butterfish at the bartender's recommendation. It's pricy, but well worth it. Hostess and all staff were friendly and polite. Great atmosphere with sports on 3 TV's over the bar.“

“Best dining experience I've had in a while. The quality of both service and food was spectacular! Our server was great and she gave me a suggestion for a sushi roll, the Tuna Tsurai, which I enjoyed. Another favorite from my dinner was the Kimchee Octopus salad and the white fish tuna that came with our tricolor sashimi. My partner's favorite was the scallops and thought the enoki mushrooms went well with it.Unfortunately I forgot our server's name, but believe it started with a D (Delene? Sorry!) She was fantastic. Richard the bartender made us fantastic drinks!!!The only thing that felt out of place were the many TVs in the restaurant. It didn't effect anything negatively at all but that stood out.I am excited to come back and eat more delicious sushi.Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator“

“New lunch spot aquired! Long-ish review... i live on the northshore but work on the soutshore... we have many good sushi places on the northshore but my favorite has won best sushi on the northshore for 3 years striaght. Point being, Ive been to many sushi places that have had good sushi and bad sushi... i was optimistic with Mizu and was not let down.. first time in just a few minutes ago and i ordered togo (playboy roll.) The place was clean as well as organized (for its smaller size).. order did not take long at all and it was absolutely delicious... temperature of the food was great.. consistancy was nice and the flavor was there! Will definitely be back for more“

“This little hidden gem has the best combo bang mi in the city! The seafood soup is sometimes the best depending on the day. But really I have a defined palette and am a harsh critic when it comes to food having spent 30 plus years in feeding high end palettes and traveling abroad. This is the best banh mi locally!“

“A wonderful experience and summed up in one word, “fresh”. The potato salad, cabbage salad, blue fin sashimi, hand rolls, saké, and dessert were all top notch. Incredible flavors in everything we tried. Thank You for the delights, we’ll be back.“

“Of the 7 courses, 5 were really delicious and two very good. I would have loved to have more of the ones we loved. At the end of the meal we were still a bit hungry. I would definitely like to go again and maybe order a couple of extra courses knowing it will be $$$.“

“I've been here multiple times. The service is always great. Everyone is kind and helpful. The food and freshness of the fishes are top notch. For a small restaurant, they tend to get pretty busy since the food is always good. I would always expect to wait a bit . At the end, they also give out complimentary Japanese chocolate that is declined and indescribable.“

“Best sushi in the city. Now mind you, I grew up in San Francisco and have lived in Los Angeles for over 25 years. I KNOW good Pacific quality sushi. This town blows for sushi. Gulf seafood is amazing! Pacific seafood is laughable. If you, like me, know and lust after something better... this is your answer. Ordered online through their website, tip, payment. Done. Walked in like a boss, said my name and walked out. Perfect pickup experience. I had places to be. They respect that. First time eating here so I danced around on the menu. My lady is diabetic, so rice free rolls are our litmus test. Can't hide behind that rice shield, dawg. They have two rice free rolls. Now I'm a gentleman so I take less than half the rolls we split, just so I can woo her with, "Please! This one is all yours!" I look like a boss. That's a pro tip, guys. She always does that delicate flower move of, "I'm so stuffed! Take the rest!" You know how it goes. Not this time amigo! I had two of six and she's going after that fourth like it's Mardi Gras. The other was a rice paper thing with a cucumber hat and a touch of spice... had it's own special subtly sweet citrus dipping sauce. Insane! Talk about balance. Speaking of... tempura appetizer. Yeah, you already know what it looks and tastes like just by saying those words, right? Nope! A slice of lemon in the dipping sauce. Mind. F'ing. Blown. Seriously, why are you still reading this and not going there right now to eat their food!? I work ten minutes away. I'm seriously making this place a regular weekly lunch thing. If they aren't yelling my name, like Norm in Cheers, as I walk in for lunch, I'm taking that as a personal failure on my part. If you see me there shoveling rolls into my fat face, give me a fist bump and a knowing nod. You're welcome.“

“Searched for a good sushi spot for months after I moved to New Orleans, and finally stumbled on Haiku. In my opinion, it's the best affordable sushi in the city. Always super fresh, and comes out very quickly even when it's busy! Highly recommend.“

“This is my go-to spot for sushi in the city. While there are several more premium options for sushi, they come with premium price tags. None of them hold a candle to Origami in terms of value. The menu here is extensive, so it will be easy to find something for everyone in your party. The rolls are pretty standard, but all are good. Their nigiri in particular stands out for being excellent yet being almost half the price of some of the other more hyped sushi locations in the city. Their cocktails are great as well.“

“One of my favorite spots on the westbank! Amazing food, excellent customer service, friendly staff and very good prices. I’ve been coming here since they’ve opened and my whole family has been ordering take out from here almost weekly for the last year. As long as the prices and the food are great then I think JAF will be around for a while!!“

“The food was excellent. I had the chicken tempura and the tamago sushi (egg). Hubby had the veteran's roll. We enjoyed them, they tasted fresh. The place was clean and cozy. The waitress was not so friendly nor that attentive.Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options such as the tamago sushi, vegetable rolls (cucumber, asparagus, avocado), and vegetable tempura. There's salad as wellParking: It's in a little strip mall, but not bad to find parking spot.“

“My favorite sushi in the city. Everything is always fresh and flavorful. I also get the Metairie roll and mango roll and they’re delicious every time. The drive thru window sets this place above everyone else. Makes getting takeout sushi so easy.“

“This is my second time here in 3 days. The food is beyond exceptional. I love sushi and went to 4 different restaurants in 5 days. There was something to satisfy every sushi craving. The presentation was exquisite, with each piece of fish expertly sliced and arranged. As I took my first bite, the freshness and melt-in-your-mouth texture of the fish was undeniable. The ingredients were top-notch, and the rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.“

“Unagi & Sushi is an overall good Japanese restaurant. We had the Hibachi Steak Lunch which was descent and reasonably priced. I can't help but compare it to the Hibachi Filet Lunch that I had at another restaurant. That's not really a fair comparison, but the Hibachi Filet Lunch special here was $20. That's just a bit too much to spend on an everyday lunch. So one star deducted just for the lunch prices. Overall, a good experience, though and I'll likely go back.“

“I must say their fried rice is pretty good I also had the rock and roll sushi and it was pretty fresh We actually ate it two nights in a row. The rice does look bland when you first get it but add some soy sauce and it taste like you're at hibachi. They are a bit pricey but I guess it's because of all the fancy packaging and napkins. All together this meal was $18.18“

“One of the better buffets in the are. Service is always prompt, curious and polite. The food selection should cover just about ones preference. It's fresh, hot, and well maintained. They will actually offer to fix sushi rolls, if you don't see what you like or offer their special rolls. Always a clean place to eat.Parking: Handicap painted parking at front door.“

“It was my first time there, and plenty to choose from. I had the stir fry noodles with seafood but were very sparse with the seafood for the price I paid. It should have been more shrimp. It was good. Staff is extremely nice and friendly.“

“I ordered food on Uber eats. I went back n forth with restaurants and this one had the best options for me. Preferred the beignets. So good. I haven't had this style in years. I built my own ramen bowl and it was by far the best ramen I've ever had. The broth was wrapped really well to ensure it didn't spill in transit. The pork belly's flavor! Oohh wee!! I also ordered smoked salmon sushi. I definitely recommend. The best smoked salmon I've ever had.“

“The food is very good but I find the service lately just hasn't been the same. I used to come here a lot more frequently. I tried take out recently and half my order was missing and so I had to come back. I would recommend dining in instead of taking out for this place.“

“The food and service here beyond exceeded our expectations! We went on a Monday night after craving sushi, and we got seated immediately. Our server was so lovely and the food was to die for. We ordered some specialty sushi rolls and nigiri, which were all fresh and tasty. I really recommend anything with the garlic jalapeño sauce, if that's your speed (especially the upside down roll). We will definitely be coming back here!!“

“My favorite Sushi spot in Louisiana. No-frills dining, with a cute seating space. I'd definitely recommend checking out the specials on the wall, specifically the Toro. I could order 20 pieces of the Toro and it would not be enough. The service is VERY friendly, and everyone here is super nice and welcoming! The Tuna tataki is so good it should be mandatory.“

“Doesn't look like much but it is incredible! The spicy tuna was by far my favorite and is one of the best spicy rolls that I've ever had! It was a full piece of tuna that was seasoned rather than a purée mush. The shaggy dog and California roll were really good as well! I'm not sure if I would actually eat there but my to-go order was fresh and relatively fast for a sushi place. 10/10 recommend!“

“Service is slooooooowwwwwwwe, even if the place is empty. The sushi is fresh, but the man making it was just shaping it with his bare hands then wiping his face which kind of grossed us all out. If you ask for a napkins they'll only bring you one. We asked twice. We got two. We drive in for sushi here about once a year; it hasn't been updated in the 20 years we've gone. The interior is really dilapidated. Sushi is always nice though. If you want a nice atmosphere then go somewhere else. If you just want pretty good sushi then give this a try,“

“My husband and I visit New Orleans every year. The food in this town is spectacular everywhere you turn. But this is our favorite spot. Really. Fresh, healthy food, at more than reasonable prices, two blocks from the French Quarter. Great for lunch or dinner. We’ve never been disappointed. The spring rolls are the star of the show for us.“

“I had the Bento Box Lunch Special. The price was quite inexpensive at $9.99, but the quality just was not there. I ordered the beef cooked medium, but it came out as chicken. I didn't want to wait, so I just ate it. It was OK, but nothing special and certainly not as good as that other local Japanese restaurant (on Citrus). My wife enjoyed the Playboy Roll. It looked better than what I had and my daughter had the Grilled Chicken Lunch special. She enjoyed that. If it were just me, I would give 3 stars, but the other meals looked pretty good. My advice would be to skip the lunch specials and just order the specialty sushi rolls. I've had those before and would recommend.“
