“Great service, good drinks. Acadiana sampler was great. Boudin quesadilla was super good too. The tuna tacos were very heavily seasoned and not what you expect when you get seared tuna. Didn’t taste like tuna at all. Maybe I am being a tuna snob but it was not edible for me. Everything else was great just don’t get the tuna tacos. Will 100% be coming here again though as they menu had a ton of things that looked great.“

Lately, I’ve noticed just how popular it has become—almost every table is full, and for good reason! The gumbo is incredible, with a dark roux that’s absolutely phenomenal. The homemade onion rings are perfectly seasoned, and their breakfast offerings are just as amazing. Don’t get me started on the desserts—they’re to die for. This is Louisiana homestyle comfort food at its finest. The service is always timely, pleasant, and consistently welcoming. I also love the inviting atmosphere and the charming decor on the walls—it really adds to the experience. KK’s is truly a gem!“

“Went to this location for the first time today. Upon walking in the floors were very sticky and dirty. The staff seemed to be spaced out all standing around in a daze for whatever reason. Had to ask to be helped. Was just picking up some take out. Food was good and was all cooked correctly. Much better than other Waffle House experiences in the area.“

I informed her that my shrimp was over cooked and was very hard to chew. She said she would inform the manager….we waited 8 minutes and no manager came. We watched him walk back and forth without ever acknowledging me. When the waitress passed back I asked her what did he say, she said oh, he said that how they cook it. Finally after 5 minutes or so he came, saw and said him self that my shrimp was overcooked and that he’ll be back. I waited and waited he never came back. I had the shrimp poboy that had a total of 5 and a half shrimp on it. It was like they took pieces of crust and stuck it between bread. My friend got up and stopped him to ask what’s going on because he never came back. He told her that I couldn’t be accommodated because I ate some it. They were all very unprofessional. I’ll never go back there. That definitely not how you handle business and the customer.“

“Double cheeseburger was very good! Patties were nicely seasoned and they cooked it medium rare for me which I asked for and appreciated. Fries were just Ok, but I’m not a big fry guy. If they put cheese on the fries that probably would be tastier. $17 for a double cheeseburger is a bit pricey, but apparently that’s the norm round here.“

“Been on a plate lunch tour and heard about ZZ’s from one of the foodies blogs. Went today and had smothered beef steak, corn and white beans. The steak was smothered in tons of onions which I love and you could tell the sides were fresh and cooked down properly. Awesome!!!“

They were very attentive and kind the entire time. We ordered an appetizer and our two entrées and everything was GREAT! Bonus points everyone eating there just like us were just the sweetest as they were passing us walking in and out of the restaurant! And no I don’t think that was coincidence or luck, that Park Bistro and its service just attracts those type of people! Most definitely will be back and will recommend to others!“

“We went to Mel’s on Johnston St. this past Saturday. It was busier than usual but there was a visiting football team and their supporters in town. The crowd was loud, but everyone seemed happy. “Im giving this place 5 stars on the frozen margaritas alone.(.its not top shelf ...but for what it is...its in the upper tier for these types of places as far as frozen drinks go)I bought a gallon for myself my significant other to share....it cost 35 dollars....and they gave us two normal sized Styrofoam cups. The mix tasted really good and the tequila was quality...we didn't need extra shots at all....infact it, about two and a half cups she was giving all manner of indignant speeches against various injustices. I don't drink alot but the mix tastes pretty good and with it being so hot, before I knew it, I was a little indignant myself! ??For an early friday night, it did not look very busy. Two 30 something guys were having a drink on the back porch but that was about it...seemed like a chill place....I imagine they sell alot of drive thru frozen drinks...and Thats fine because they are good at making them. Not a huge amount of lighting in the parking lot...had to really look for it at night, having never been there...but it looks like a great friendly place for good natured every day people to have a drink. Person at the window was friendly.Definitely will order again when we come back to Lafayette..“
