We were served and it had to ask for the check and take out containers. Our waitress was an angel from god. She brought the takeout containers and the check and also a bottle of cold water, an empty bag and extra napkins in case he was sick on our way home. We didn’t even get a chance to eat our food. “my 2 friends and I went to Strawberry Fair restaurant yesterday. one friend we hadn't seen in years. we've known each other since we were 12. our hostess and waitress were excellent. we stayed over 2 hours reminiscing. Then when we tried to take a selfie before we left and our waitress came outside and offered to take the picture. it came out great!! I highly recommend this restaurant.The food was delicious!!! That said, this is definitely not the best spot for a relaxing Saturday date night. There were so many unsupervised kids running wild that it completely killed the vibe. Three separate groups let their kids kick and throw dirt until they broke the landscape lights. Another child (maybe 5) spent nearly an hour standing knee-deep in the pond in her sneakers, again with zero supervision. I don’t mind kids being kids, but when they’re totally unsupervised and destroying property while parents just zone out, it’s a whole different level. Add to that kids jumping all over the dock, it was pure chaos.“

It was a building then, a bar/restaurant of sorts, but now it is someplace special. Since Lori and Jayson, who also own the "Fork in the Road" delicatessen in Bryantville and the Olde Hitching Post restaurant in Hanson, took over the restaurant and renamed it, it is now a place for excellent food, beverages, and a wonderful, wonderful group of people, their patrons. What makes Somewhere Else truly special is that on almost every night, Jayson, Lori, or Lori's sister, Lee Ann, will be there taking care of their customers..... their friends. This past Sunday, was Lori's birthday and EVERYONE was included to celebrate her birthday, Chinese food (seemingly Lori's favorite), cake and ice cream shared with all. But best of all, was not the food, but the celebration of friendship.... Thank you Lori, Jayson and Lee Ann. For those of you who have not stopped by, do so. “A friend and I got some food to go here a few weeks ago at night and I must say that the food was very good. It did take about 20 minutes for it to come but it was made when we ordered so I know it was fresh. The service was great also very kind people that work there. Our server Paige was attentive despite having many tables. The drinks were delicious- tried my first Mint Julep! We were bold and went with the PB &J wings to try. They sounded so odd but also so delicious. They did not disappoint!

We couldn’t help but overhear behind us there was an issue with their order. After two visits from 2 different managers the people got up and left. We did ask Paige about it and she did explain the situation in a professional manner. When she felt she couldn’t resolve the issue, she got help from her managers. The people chose not to pay even though it was their mistake. And said they would give a bad review if they were forced to pay their bill. Kudos to Paige and the managers for handling the situation so well.

I used to go there around the holidays when my grandparents visited with my grandfather, brother and father, and other times with other relatives.
