Everything was delicious, and it was easy for people to mix and match what they wanted to eat -- a real benefit for feeding a crowd. Alex at La Victoria made the ordering process easy! “An offshoot of the late, great Jose's Mexican restaurant in Cambridge. Many of the selections are the same. We came specifically for the pozole, a chicken and homily corn soup. A large bowl was loaded with big kernels of corn and plenty of chicken. A friend who was born and raised in Mexico said Jose's pozole is top notch. Quality and quantity make for good value. We easily found parking on the street at no cost for 2 hours. Service was fast and friendly. They plan to expand inside and out so seating will increase. They're also getting a liquor license.

The only downside is the waiting area. You are packed like sardines in line to place or pick up an order.
I would definitely suggest calling ahead and placing an order for takeout over the phone.
There are a few tables for sit-down dining but the room is very tight and crowded.“

“Great food but lately El Jefe's is taking a hit on bad reviews due to @GrubHub's poor ordering system with algorithm issues which I have brought to their attention, and seems they still haven't fixed since I placed an order months prior. On 3 separate occasions on the same date and time I received my order incorrect. When I compared the order from my GrubHub account against the receipt received from El Jefe's, it was determined I was missing many items from my burrito bowl. I contacted GrubHub in which they kept refunding me, and I also mentioned the issue. I ordered El Jefe's 2 more times and the same error occurred both times. I could see once they mess up the order due to reading it wrong but not 3x. El Jefe's only puts an order together based on the ordering slips they receive from GrubHub, so if something is off with GrubHub's ordering system that is what the restaurant is receiving and thus creating the order from. As much as these food delivery services are ripping off these restaurants, they got a nerve to make the restaurant take accountability for their mess ups and ordering errors. They're already scamming these vendors out of $$$ and continue to affect these companies in a negative manner. Time for these vendors to go back to the old delivery ways and cut the greedy middle man! These good delivery services are a total rip off with their high fees, whacked discounts that don't add up, and lack of customer service.“

“Great food and service. Bierra tacos were great- we drank the au-jus straight as it had nice cinnamon overtones. Guacamole was perfect with the chips light and fluffy. The 3 tacos- were the traditional small one: the pastor had small amounts of pineapple - very traditional; steak (carne asada) was cooked perfectly as little strips and the carnitas has tons of flavor. The trea-leche was a hit with it's nice flavora. The margherita was flavorful and well balanced. The service was amazing- they gave us special hot sauce, not on the menu, when we asked for habanero sauce (they didn't have). Will go again- need to taste everything on the menu!“

“This has always been one of my go-to places, and I’ve loved coming here for years. Unfortunately, today’s visit was really disappointing and left a sour taste.
I was there to celebrate my partner’s birthday and mentioned that to our server, Jenny M, but it went completely unacknowledged. The restaurant was empty — we were the only guests — so I expected great service, but it was honestly the opposite.
She got my order wrong, and I had to call her over several times before she finally came to the table, rolling her eyes as she did. When I politely mentioned the appetizer mistake, she took the plate and, as she walked away, said, “What? Are you allergic to chicken?” — even though my main dish was chicken. The comment felt rude and unnecessary.
We’ve been loyal customers for years and chose this restaurant for a special occasion, but the service made it feel like a mistake. Even small gestures like turning the music up — something we’ve always enjoyed about the atmosphere — were ignored. We eventually played music from our phones just to lighten the mood.
This experience was really disappointing, especially knowing how great this place can be. I hope management addresses this, because loyal guests like us truly value the restaurant and want to see it live up to its usual standards.“

Lots of options here, considering we have meat eaters, pescatarians and kosher eaters in the group tonight. We started off with a plate of their pickles and they were fabulous. With it, beers! Including a draft German beer for me and a tin of a non-alcoholic for Mrs. K.

For main, I chose the Italian sandwich and it was fabulous. Well loaded and very tasty if perhaps a little messy. But that's what napkins are for. Mrs. K. chose the grilled cheese and said it was excellent.

I find myself going to Tenoch Mexican more often because of flexibility in terms of ordering items separately etc.“
