“I'll admit it -- we are those people. The ones who weren't going to go out on Valentine's Day until we decided we were. And it turns out we weren't the only ones. The place is frequented by regulars for sure with a bar on one side and a slightly more formal sit down dining room on the other. When we arrived we waited for about 10 minutes and were seated at a high top near the bar area. During this time another couple got frustrated with the single waitress to be seen after she dropped off some food to them. This couple was not empathetic at all and then expressed that to the waitress in a condescending tone on what was probably one of the busiest nights there. The same woman was our waitress and it was clear she was running around from dining room to bar room without a single moment to catch her breath. She did great! Obviously the kitchen was swamped too but we knew to adjust our expectations accordingly for timing. Food was delicious, incredible value. Calamari was a generous portion and could definitely be a small family appetizer on its own. My husband commented that you will not find a steak for less than $35 in the area and I think this one was $25 or so? Truffle fries were excellent. I got the bolognese and it was comforting and a big portion. We'll definitely come back on a less busy night but overall it was a good experience!“

“I tried the Venus Cafe for the first time today for takeout. I ordered a green pepper onion and mushroom pizza. I got there early and got it as soon as he popped it into the box, so there was no time for it to steam in the box. I usually have my dog with me, so that's why I get take-out a lot. A little bit of flop at the beginning due to it being piping hot and loaded with toppings. Tasted great, and the price was good. This place is one of the goats of this style of pizza, ssbp. The only complaint is that they use sliced toppings, not chopped. And that's just a personal preference due to years of thinking I took a clean bite of pizza, and then a chunk of blistering topping comes with it and tags me on the chin. Lol. I went to the takeout side and dealt directly with the cook, and he was very nice. I have no clue about the bar area, but friendly kitchen staff speaks volumes for a place. “I got a menu in the mail and decided to try Themis Pizza and so happy I did. Everything we got was great. Wife got a turkey club daughter got a steak tip sub and I got a meatball sub. It was so good we went back a couple days later wife got a turkey sub daughter got another steak tip and I got chicken fingers and curly fries and everything was great again. When Unchained Pizza closed on 550 Adams St. I was very interested to see what would replace the store front. I saw a new pizza establishment fill the space. Tommy Garefalakis who has a Rosie's Pizza in Braintree, had decided to lease the space in Quincy. Tom brought his family kitchen style restaurant and opened it up to us here in town. For me, the pizza sauce, red or white will make or break my decision for the pizza. Of course, the pizza dough plays a small part but if you can marry the sauce and dough into a gastronomic delight, you will have my business all day. My first time into Rosie's, I immediately saw the case with the pizza slices. I had to try all 8 slices because that is who I am. This particular day, I had the Margarita, Sausage, BBQ Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, Cheese, Pepperoni, Onion Green Pepper and Sicilian. I was talking with Tom about the new location, and he was pleased with the results so far. I brought home the pizza slices and went through them. Every slice had that sauce dough consistency which I looked for. What surprised me most was the Sicilian slice (for the record) which I have never been a big fan of. Traditional Sicilian pizza is often thick crusted and rectangular but can also be round and similar to the Neapolitan pizza. My bite into this slice gave me a true appreciation to the dough and sauce combination. This slice was a cheese slice but it was like I was biting into a tomato with a slice of bread with some Olive oil. I loved it. For the months to follow, I have ordered every pizza and my favorite is the PB&J pizza which is Pineapple, Bacon and Jalapenos. If you want an adventure, try this pizza.“

Bathroom was wicked clean. Prices were super fair and appropriate.We had ordered a grilled chicken salad and a large pepperoni pizza. Everything was ready to go when we got there. Pizza was perfect size, places often skimp on the size of their larges, but not here, a true large pizza! Dough was amazing and obviously fresh. Pizza was cooked evenly and well. Also, for a pepperoni pizza, which is greasy by nature, it was minimally greasy. Cheese was of great quality and not some of the cheep overly greasy junk you get some places. Salad was extremely fresh, no soggy tomatoes, crisp green peppers, served with a fresh pita, and the Greek dressing was AMAZING. Chicken was sliced up in a perfect size and was fresh and delicious.We travel a lot and have been let down before on pizza places, but this place is a gem and 10/10 will absolutely return.“

“Went for the first time last night. Really reminded me of the Pubs I frequented while in Ireland. (Served a proper pour of Guinness, not usual for most bars in the area. ). Service was friendly and fast. Food is good, well cooked, and very reasonably priced. We were there on a Wednesday for Open Mic Night and very much enjoyed the music. They have a good size bar as overflow seating but no bartender on duty, just regular wait staff. Reservations are a good idea.The Corned Beef Hash Benny was great. You get a choice of English Muffins or Hash Browns. I got it on the Hash Browns. It's different but delicious. The odd thing is that you get home fries, too. Potato everywhere. Maybe with Hash Browns, you could have a non-potato side?Parking: They don't have their own parking lot. But if you look on their website, they show at least 3 parking lots very close by that allow Brickhouse Cafe customers to park for free.“

“This place was a recommendation from a friend. I must have driven past it a number of times and didn't realize there was this neighborhood gem in the middle of a residential area. Shame on me, this place has been a local staple for a long time and run by generations of the same family for decades. The age shows in the interior (don't expect an up to date or romantic place), but the food is well worth it and the owner is awesome. I ordered a "Tuscan" pizza (artichokes and roasted garlic) and added Finocchiona and Olives custom to it which raised some eye brows with the boss. He considered it a good choice and appreciated the order while stating that not many order it that way because they don't know what Finocchiona was :-) I also had the sauteed calamari, great, but didn't leave a lot of room for the entree, be mindful. I went back a couple of weeks later and we shared the same calamari entree (lesson learned). We also shared a clam pizza, a local favorite. Nothing wrong, but not the strongest taste and I wouldn't have it again. Summary: I will go back again. The place has good pizza, local charm of the past and is worth it for a casual dinner or take out.“

I tried calling, but if they fall too far behind, they stop taking phone orders. I really wanted to try it based on reviews by Dave Portnoy and others, so I drove over to place my order in person. It took over 30 minutes to get my food. It was a busy Friday night, but wow. Seeing as how I had to pass 6 pizza places to get it ( I came from Brockton), I'm not sure it's worth the wait. If you are in the area and get the timing right, it's good pizza and salad for 20 bucks.“
