Guira y Tambora Reviews
Great food, apps and meals at great prices. Ambience was awesome and the service was great. Highly recommended 👌
I ordered delivery pollo guisado, tostones, maduros, rice and beans, and mamey. Pollo guisado was nothing but grease and for $16 I received 3 small chicken legs. I’m NYC born and raised. I lived in a Dominican and Puerto Rican neighborhood so I know my pollo guisado and this was far from it. A real shame because I was feeling homesick and really looking forward to the food
A lot of space and parking

Guira y Tambora is a Caribbean-inspired restaurant that serves amazing and flavorful food. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including the popular BISTEC SALTEADO (Sautéed Steak) and PESCADO EN RUEDAS FRITO (fried red snapper in tomato sauce), which are cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The Mofongo is a standout dish, and the plantains are fried fresh. The atmosphere is cozy and clean, with a nice ambiance, although the music can be a bit loud during early dinner service. The staff is attentive and friendly, providing good service. While the prices of seafood dishes may be a bit high, the food is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant is known for its authentic Dominican cuisine, and customers praise the lively atmosphere and outstanding service. The waitstaff, such as Chary, are described as incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The food is presented beautifully and showcases the rich culinary traditions of the Dominican Republic. Overall, Guira y Tambora is a great spot for those looking to enjoy delicious Caribbean-inspired cuisine in a warm and inviting setting.
